it depends on which foal it is and if you are trying to get one of my skins or the official ones.
for my skins:
if it is one of the official foals then stick it in a stable, craft an exotic fodder and feed it to the foal.
if it is one of my foals then stick it in a basic stable (looks like a pile of hay or straw and just give it plant fiber.

pretty sure i havent messed with the recipes for them since i posted the details under discussions. there is a little more info there and better described.

if they are foals from someone elses mod, then no clue.

@DRACO_THE_RIDER sorry but i am not adding new mounts. there is an extreme amount of work needed to do them right, meaning properly and fully animated and rigged for being a mount with the correct file setup. most custom mounts not based off existing official ones are missing mount specific animations, controls, interactions, mount points for saddles and players, and other things that go into making them work (and look) right. while i do like having a wider range of animals for mounts, i cant stand them done badly (pasting the model for the animal on the framework for an existing mount and ignoring missing components). if you dont care that things are missing a quick web search turned up several mods that add wolf type "mounts".

most of this mod is advanced reskins with modified meshes for the horses. the "new" rhinos that i put in already used the same skeleton and animation sets as the official rhino mount so was within the range of model changes i did with the horses.

@Witchphrodite you need to craft a "basic stables" from the mod. it looks like a piece of plant fiber in your handmade crafting

Hello! It seems that I can't put the modded horses into normal stables and some into the basic stables but i can put them into animal pens?
Wondering if this is a bug which specific types of horses - or if I am doing it wrong!

@Kazilzare: Hey Mate! Since 6 Oct. your Mod didn't wprk with Exiles Extreme. It made a conflict and Server Error so he didnt show up with Extended Mounts and EE. When Extended Mounts removed, than it works. Seems to be an issue there. The Mod creator from Exiles Extreme contacted you :) Hope my report helps too. Thanks for your work!

@Ashen Cold thanks for making sure i checked this. looks like they changed how the horse models are handled, 3 meshes now instead of just 1. currently working on fixing it, so far no problems just a lot of files to adjust and reassign textures to since it effects all my horses and not just the zebras. sorry it took so long for me to get to, life is a bit more hectic for me right now but this will be fixed within the next few days.

Hi! Sorry for a late reply, i've checked them again with only your mod enabled, yet the problem remained. All but mixed zebras have both normal and mohawk manes and with both tails, here're the screens: https://imgur.com/a/li47LLD

@Ashen Cold are you sure they are my zebras? i have a modified mesh (no normal tail or mane) for the zebras while the mixed zebras are one of my modified horse meshes (normal tail and mane not zebra type). if you are sure its mine that are bugged, please tell me which and if you can include a photo so i know just what to look for that would also help.

@Kaiowas my saddles arent quite finished, want to get them done but cant until some RL problems are sorted (same goes for my other unfinished parts in the mod). dont know what you mean by bagpacks, i just have a handful of retexture saddles and a few custom sets right now

Hi! In recent version zebras got bit bugged: Zebra mounts now have both tuft and normal horse tails merged together.

The Horses are amazing. But it's a littlebit sad that the texture of the saddles are missing sometimes. Exspecially the caravan ones. I love bagpacks on horses but there the saddletexture is missing. :( But a great mod with realistic horses! Niceone!

Kazilzare! You are awesome :D Thank you for renaming the horses and yes they totally match their colors. There are 4 that look like horses I've had over the years so I have favorites. I also love that you included drafts (one looks like standardbreds though <3 For anyone interested this is an excellent mod and I have had zero issues with it. If you love horses this is the mod for you :)

Hiya! I absolutely love your mod. I have a request though. Are you able to rename them so when in a list you can tell each horse is different? Even if its Blue1 Blue 2 Blue 3 etc. I'm using it in a stable master merchant and you cant tell what you're buying. Many thanks!!

@Exora that would be a nice feature but is outside what is planned for this mod. it would likely be a better fit on a mod designed for dealing with thralls, which there are several of already. it is also way beyond my limited skills for modding this game.

everything in this mod works on any map except the herds. the default herds added in this mod are only on the original map since its the only one available in the mod kit. you can use other mods that add spawners to create your own herds on any map if you want them.

I do not blame you at all, we haven't run into any further bugs or issues but we're putting it through its paces and so far we havent run into further problems but as soon as we find anything I will be for sure posting bug reports with imagery when possible!

i would much rather being informed of any bugs or issues that come up so i can get them fixed or get a work around in for them. just wish i had more time to work on things right now since i have quite a few things added only half way (technically in game but no access outside admin spawning) that have caused issues or acted like bugs when a patch changes something. dont want to have to remove the things since it will be a lot more work to put them back and redo the testing on them so far.

your local copy of the mod is what is messed up (copy for the server at least). either tell the server to update the mod or delete and redownload it. i just loaded the game with it and had no issues, i did have a few other mods reported as corrupted. to be honest i havent tested lately on a server just single player but there is no change in the mod between server and single player. if you havent i suggest doing a verify or reinstall the server (no need to change settings or anything, just refresh the server game files) if you are getting issues. i have to verify my game itself and do that for my testing server regularly since it seems a few files like to self corrupt or something and ive had it claim mods are bad that werent.

@Kazilzare Yeah I am gonna try again today with more horses to see if the other recipes are playing nice. I wonder if the Bazaar issue yesterday is causing issue with it? Not sure.

I am sorry its being troublesome, me and my friends are gonna keep checking around in the mod to try to get more helpful screenshots and such of anything we run into! We love the mod so far though, and it is wonderful with Rhinos thus far.

the foal in the photo should be "growing". since its not it means something messed up the recipe.

for the saddle, that might be harder to work out since the dev kit is pretending that a few of the ones i added are suddenly bad. though if its saying you are crafting one thing and then giving you something else that also indicates a recipe mess up.

ill dig into them today or tomorrow and see if i can get them sorted along with whatever other recipes of mine got changed.

I am not sure If I am losing my brain or not, but when I put the Zebra Foals into the Basic stables they don't seem to eat the plant fibre or the zebra fiber items and there is no progress bar showing that they are growing. Is this common? imgur.com/aXxOL4k.png

Additionally me and my friends did run into a bug we found relating to the saddles. There are presently 2 editions of the "orange pict saddle" but the first of which is actually the rugged saddle when you craft it. Thanks for fixing the mane and tails. The saddles with the still stretched messed up textures are the "light riding saddle" 717000095 the "sturdy riding saddle" 717000069 the "riding saddle" 717000066 and the "minimal saddle" 717000030

seems there is another data field for the hair textures that the default (which matched the official horses) was at too high of a number so it messed up the density of the mane/tail texture. fixed that and extended it to the official horses (and their bad zebra) so they will have decent density until they fix it.

ill look at the saddles but it would really help when reporting bugs or such to give item names or (better yet) admin item numbers so i can go right to the ones with problems instead of hunting through everything to try finding which specific items need fixing. 22 different saddles in my files (not sure if all are currently hooked into the mod) and currently 84 horses (144 if you count all the foals and the rhinos) so its hard to hunt down bugs that dont include specifics if its not for everything of a type (all saddles, all horses, all foals, and so on).

Hey again, some of your saddles have texture bugs, they are really stretched or are blank. The mane have textures again, but the tail is really short and the mane really thin. I remember that this mod made mane and tail hairs longer and more dense, or am i wrong? Thanks for your work :)

Thanks for the response, when I had the mod below better thralls, I could not get your horses to follow me and they would return back to their guard spot. I tested vanilla horses and they worked fine. When I placed this mod above better thralls, everything worked. I run a lot of mods so I can't verify exactly where the conflict is but that is how I got it to work. A bareback saddle option would be much appreciated. BTW Clydesdales are huge in real life, I rode one and my groin hurt for week because my legs were stretched so wide. lol They are better as workhorses but I believe Arnold rode one in the movie so they are not immersion breaking. I like that there are a variety of sizes to choose from. Thank you for your hard work.

The clydesdale and shire are big, they are also huge in real life. wanted to keep that massiveness for those that do want the bigger horses. the ingame sizes for the others range from about 4' 2" tall to 6" (height of the official horses). i admit for the game i prefer the smaller ones but then i scale my character down a good bit so the big ones look silly to ride, real life i prefer the bigger horses cause i cant exactly scale myself down to where they would be a good fit for me.

if its wanted i can post a list of which horses are which type so those hunting for specific sizes can easily spawn in what they want.

I do personally think some of the horses are too big. But I have always thought the Vanilla Conan horses were too big in and of themselves. I have had horses all my life, the biggest one I have had was a Percheron and me being 5'6" he was the ONLY horse I had that I couldn't see over the withers. IDK maybe it's just me... I love the smaller horses and they are always the ones I go for and keep in my herd. The rest get pitched :P

thanks for letting me know about the textures. thought i had gotten the changes from the last patch but it looks like the textures for mane and tail lost their transparency.

for size, are there specific ones you think are oversized? i did scale them to real life sizes based on a 1.0 scale player being 6' tall. the horses (except the zebra set) are varied from pony to clydesdale and shire. if you look at the images on the description for this mod you can see the range of sizes. the mounts also scale to the last player who rode it, the scale changing by player size something i dont know how to change or if it can be changed.

i pulled out about 15 random horses in my test game and the sizes seemed fine, double checked them in the devkit too.

just pulled up the only saddle i think you could be referring to (the t3 pict recolor) and it looks like one of the patches changed how the color shows since when i put that one in it wasnt that bright. it will be fixed today as well.

you dont have to load it before Better Thralls, i use that mod and have my horses at the end of the load order just incase something on my modlist wants to mess with the horse stuff. not that it would stop this mod from working but because i want to keep the changes i made to pens and stables (showing babies instead of it being empty and showing things at the right scale). never had any issues with the horses or Better Thralls functionality.

for invisible saddle, its true i dont have one. havent done it since so many other mods did it, might do one to be inline with the saddle stats i have later on though. i do have a reins only "saddle" in there, not sure if i have it hooked up to a recipe yet or if its admin spawn only though.

The mane and tail of my horse look like paper stripes without much texture... is this a bug? Also most Horses are way to big, it doesnt look like a war horse, only unrealistic. (Jeah i know its a fantasy, game but everyone in my clan jokes about the big horses) The standart conan horse were already too big, but with this mod... I also miss the saddles with the brown headpiece, why change it to bright red? I love the better models and cool skins from this mod.

Ok for the users of this mod FYI, load this mod before Better Thralls if you use it that mod or the horses in this mod will not work properly. Also for those that want to ride bareback you can use the Yoggite mod, it still works and has an invisible saddle option. Kazilzare, I love you mod, thank you for your hard work.

This mod is exactly what we need. I like the horses in Exiles but only 6 variations getting boring real quick. Here you even changed the size! We love it. Thanks for your work.

thanks, ill look take a look. sounds like its not behaving correctly at all. the saddle really shouldnt be doing that unless i somehow missed one of the steps for setting it up (hadnt quite finished most of the saddles before i had to put them on hold), but even missing something it either shouldnt work or use default settings not what you reported or making them gallop in reverse.

@kazilzare: One other thing I just discovered, the Caravan saddle steals the horse's stamina whether sprinting or not. As such it's not really useable - which is a shame as I really like the look of it. Not tested all saddles yet, so not sure if there are issues with any others (also not read all comments to see if this is a known bug).

@kazilzare: It is the blue horse, bottom row left hand side. I actually have 2 of them, just to test and see if they levelled at the same rate, on the same feed (vines) and they do. At level 20 they both have a vitality of 3634, whereas my base-game dapple grey has 39(something). I fed that one vines, too.

i was attempting to create custom stat changes depending on the "breed" of horse, got part way through with it not working and i was sure i returned the ones i was testing on to the default official feed settings. do you know which horse is giving problems? can just tell me the color and match it to the row & number on the images in the description, that way i can pin point which horse and see if it is the horse or something in the game itself causing the issue.
