I just dont understand. How can it be that all the most interesting mods in the workshop are just not being updated anymore? People release all these banger and just dip

Considering this mod was last updated in 2020 it broke after a few updates and its long incompatible, but from what i can tell, All it needs is a repatch and a few fixes to the newest updates and it can start working perfectly again

The mod doesn't seem to want to work. No matter what I do, I followed the steps in the imgur. I added LUA to clientside, tested it in singleplayer, multiplayer and in the submarine editor. It just wont work, what's up with that?

Yep, the console gives me errors about the textures being unable to be compressed, and at some point it crashes

I got a boner for realism in games but this particular time blame my engineering friend Goury, he's like "oh guns shouldn't damage hulls in submarines, walls are thick lol" and "bullets in water no more supersonic cause water dense af" so here I am trying to do my best to appease the engineer.

He should make a mod that removes the hostile creatures from the game and replaces them with normal fish that can't break into the hull. Because that is true realism.

@EndlingSky. I've updated the text files with placeholders for all 12 other languages from the vanilla game files. But every one of them is a placeholder so if you want to copy the format it will for sure work from there.

@EndlingSky. Translation file is separate now, it's in the "Language" folder under "English.xml" You can freely translate this to whichever language you want :csdsmile::gearthumbsup:

Nvm fixed it, all good now. Particle was pointing to the other mod I was doing and turning off it, i found this to crash this gun mod. So now the particle is a file inside this mod, making it stable again. Sorry for the trouble folks!

TLDR Delete both of thoes "water guns" and "underwater guns" make sure of that because my friend goury also had the same problem here.

@Vail I know it isn't broken fresh from steam because i had a friend that just got this game from humble bundle and he installed my gun mod, we shot it. Nobody crashed. I'll try adding you and helping you solve the problem privately because i want to know why it is broken for you and cabbage.

@Dahitman, tried it twice still crashed, I don't know if it enters in conflict with another mod or if it's a corrupt files, my files shows "last modified" with the actual time, so they we're updated. I don't know if @Cabbage had success into making it work on his end ! :steamsad:

@Vail if you're having problems still I recommend following these instructions. I made a picture guide seeing that at least two of you were having this problem after I updated the mod.

The reason for the mod going broken for those of you that updated is most likely due to the steam file having a mismatch with my local files. So steam renamed it to "underwater guns" because that was the old name this mod had before it went on steam. Due to every file linking to "Water Guns" as a folder structure, this mismatch caused everything to want to look for "Underwater Guns" in one of the versions of the updates which I quickly fixed, but I think you guys got the bad apple and kept it due to workshop's inadequate update delivery. So the result is manual update like the instructions above.

@Dahitman, Roger, ill test it with other gun mods, I tested it quickly & crashed when fireing a M1garand, I will test it again by deleting it / redownloading it tonight

@CABBAGE I just unsubscribed the mod from my side, deleted the file in the Barotrauma/Mods/ folder then reacquired it from this page. It could be when I was updating today this mod got renamed from "Water Guns" to "Underwater Guns" from the settings folder. That and some file switches during my update today broke the file links but right now M1A should work no problem. I verified the shooting, clip ping, and water bubbling.

@CABBAGE try unsubscribing and resubscribing, it could be a bug with my updater. But I'll verify again right now to see if it's still okay.

@Vail I don't use any assets from other mods as far as I know, there's no vanilla overwrites either so it should in theory work with them unless we named similar guns or containers.

Funny enough soviet and russia started to develop more underwater weapons because the US navy had trained dolphins to nose poke frogmen with carbon dioxide. Which is kind of funny looking at Americans talking about keeping only shotguns on top and pistol caliber on bottom to be sufficient in sub defense. While the more modern nuke doesn't even need to surface for air. These weapons may be more limited and biased towards Russia/Soviet arsenal. As much as I would like to add trained dolphins in the game, guns are more fun.

You're wecome, feel free to make more suggestions because I've only one source of accuracy from one gun friend and one engineer friend apart from google and play testing the balance.

I'm going to take a break from expanding this further and go back to refining the cigarette mod, feel free to a vote on https://www.strawpoll.me/20459430 (you can vote on multiple) for the next guns to have in this mod. Some things just may not work in game, like distance based depth charges, underbarrel attachment for selective firing of projectile and grenade (very maybe possibly won't work).
