Can you try with v3.2? I just updated it right now. If that doesn't fix the issue, I can try to disable the 'Color' always 5 seconds or even 10 before the wave starts.. maybe that fixes the issue.

Yo, yes i'm positive, on my whitelisted servers there's a slight delay as with every single Killing Floor server ever, but with the whispmut there is a greater delay and sometimes the players even start running into walls (like the server has crashed) then snap back into where they were standing after about 2 seconds.

It does seem to have worsened after the newest update unfortunately and it also seems like the more players connected to the server the longer the freeze/lag duration.

Ahoy. Are you sure the slight lag is from the mutator? I just tested my server with 0 mutators just pure vanilla, and the lag on trader end/wave start is there.

Please test it on your side as well and let me know :csdsmile:

Yeah, I have a couple of ideas on how to work with this. Will give it a try and see how it goes.

The new version is already released btw (3.1) so it would make sense to change your current configuration (Mutator name changed from KFWhispColorChanger to WhispColorChanger)

And the config has changed.

This is the most important thing on the to-do list imo. If running a server on a low performance pc the lag time increases to a couple of seconds *at wave start* from what i'v noticed. Also seems to cause fps drops for a few seconds too *at wave finish*.

A full mutator re-work is being worked on. I tried my best to make this whitelisted but I just couldn't find a way to trigger the whisp unless the change is done on Client-Side. Sorry, but this cannot be whitelisted to my current knowledge. If anybody else wants to join and help me, feel free to support me Here [github.com]:

Changes done so far:

- Code is much cleaner
- No more predefined colors, you can put any color you want (config variable )
- No more in-game menu
- A little smaller in size (barely 4kb)
- Better performance, as the whisp, will not be triggered when you are not in trader time (previously, it was always being modified even when you are in wave. This created a small overhead to performance)


More to do:

- Ability to modify other aspects of the Whisp! (Head vs Trail colors, size, speed, etc.. )
- Find a way to remove the small glitch that happens before the wave starts (0.1 second lag)

@Beats I kind of forgot my coding, but this defo required Client side interactions to work properly. Whisp colors are used on client side and not just server side :csdsmile:

Code is available for anyone to use, feel free to change it and make it whitelisted if you want/able to.

@lil_cigars there is a manual downling link in the description :) ! Also, workshop doesn't work well if you are subscribed to a lot of items at once. I recommend once you've already donwloaded a mutator, unsubscribe from it ( And possibly added to your own collection so you won't forget about it ) :squirtyay:

@Gustav I assume you're asking how to activate this? Just subscribe! The mutator will show in your list when you host a server; you can also download it manually via the Mega link provided.

To make it autocreate you need to at open your webadmin of the dedicated server and edit the config of the mutator, that should work!

Ok, I generated the .ini on a listen server and copied it over to my dedicated server (where it did not auto-create). It may be a good idea to include a sample.ini it in the package, just in case. Thanks!

Once you load the mutator, a .ini file will be generated inside your directory as well!

What do you mean by recompiling? You don't need to recompile :) just go to your server config and click on the Random Color option inside the 'KFWhispColorChanger' options.

@Renil i found the stupid bug that didn't let the mutator work on dedicated AND listen servers! It was only showing for the host. I will release a fix soon.

It should work because i do not modify the RedWhisp class name, i'm just modifying the values of it. So as long as it's using same Class we should have results! Tell me what you get with testing on listen, if it doesn't work, I'll add conditions for all ScrN whisp classes :)

I would try it in a listen mode to see if it works. And yes, I use ScrnGameType. I checked the source code and see that they use an array of classname of 'RedWhisp' to spawn the trader path, so that's why it will not compatible with your mod. I will try and give you the test result ^^ Thank you

@RenliGaming I think i found your issue: If you're using it in a dedicated server this will not work properly. Give it a try in Listen server first ^_^

@Renilgaming I just checked ScrN default game type (Assuming it's the ScrnGameType, and it uses the standared RedWhisp so the mutator should work just fine with it. Have you checked it first? Or do you mean another game mode?

It doesn't work, because I use this with ScrnBalanceSrv mod which override the ShowTraderPath in GameType D:
