NERF them because you FEAR them

When a Chinampa copies a resource into the coast, Harbors gain a standard adjacency from that chinampa because it's a coastal rescourse. Is that intended?
Mr.Mrorstir 30 Apr @ 5:16am
Author, can you please make chinampa as standalone mod?
I need it for my modpack that use Civilization Expanded, where I don't want to overwrite existent in CE rework of aztec
Thanks in advance for your reply

Moving Eagle Warriors into Feudalism is brutal but I understand the change.
zzzzsman 17 Jul, 2024 @ 6:38am
Chinampa doesn't seem to copy over the resource. should i try uninstall reinstall?
gMountain 9 Mar, 2024 @ 4:54am
Tlacaelel's first ability is broken: when an aztec warrior captures a unit, it does not count for defeating it and thus do not provide the faith or great person points.
danaholland6686 21 Feb, 2024 @ 3:48pm
Can you increase the spawn bias I have tried this a few times on deity and never spawn near lakes? Also I think the legend of the five suns doesn't synergize well with the other abilities that focus on growth and faith
Caesarscrown 11 Feb, 2024 @ 3:14pm
Had great fun with this. Thank you
El 18 Aug, 2023 @ 8:33am
Love this! The chinampa is suitably awesome, glad the Aztec lake stuff is represented so well. The references to the flower wars and triple alliance are great too.
MarsEco 17 Jan, 2023 @ 4:16am
It's too bad the Governor doesn't establish in 3 turns like victor
Renouf 19 Nov, 2022 @ 1:58am
+1 for the guy who wanted a standalone chinampa mod for compatibility. It's a crime Aztecs don't get them basegame, and those models are gorgeous!!
Leugi  [author] 14 Nov, 2022 @ 11:57am
@juan D'Usami: Yes it is compatible with alternate leaders. Depending on how the modder set up the icons it might show the tlacthli on the selection screen but otherwise ingame it works properly
Pesado Armas Cara 14 Nov, 2022 @ 10:03am
Nevermind, I saw in the description that the eagle warriors unlock later now

Is this mod compatible with Aztec leader mods? Like that one Cuauhtemoc mod.
Pesado Armas Cara 14 Nov, 2022 @ 9:41am
I don't seem to have access to eagle warriors when I have this active. Is that intended?
Mordecai the Hobo Wizard 8 Nov, 2022 @ 3:55pm
I noticed this question had been asked before, but I didn't see an official answer. Is there any chance that a standalone mod could be made for the chinampa improvement? I use Civilizations Expanded for civ reworks, but it really sucks having to give up such a beautiful tile improvement, not to mention the history nerd in me dying for the addition of non-military stuff for the Aztecs.
Pesado Armas Cara 6 Nov, 2022 @ 5:01pm
Interesting, I'll certainly try out this mod the next time I play as Aztecs.
Max 24 Oct, 2022 @ 3:08pm
Thanks for the response Leugi, I'd politely suggest adding the no-snow thing to the civlopedia or something.
Leugi  [author] 24 Oct, 2022 @ 10:18am
@Max: It is intentional yeah, mostly to prevent Aztec suddenly becoming a new snow civ, specially if people play with mods that remove ice.

@Tuindwergie: Sorry for the late response, job sucks. Anyway I'm actually considering moving it later, not only because of 6T but because overall it ends up being far too early anyway. Still tinkering around it though because I do like the idea of it being civic-based.
Max 22 Oct, 2022 @ 7:23am
Is it intentional that snow tiles don't seem to count for the chinampa's water tile eligibility?
M 12 Sep, 2022 @ 8:09pm
This is a very well thought out mod. Thank you for taking the time to create it.
skye4841 28 Jul, 2022 @ 2:20pm
the governor wont appear in my game anymore
Tuindwergie 29 Mar, 2022 @ 5:29am
Is there a way for me to move the Eagle Warrior to later in the tech tree? If so, will you please help me? I've been playing with Project 6T which adds a Post-Classical Era. That means that the Eagle Warrior is just way too strong, often time coming in before swordsman. That leaves two whole eras of unit superiority.
H.Humpel 2 Jan, 2022 @ 7:59am
Hi Leugi,
your mod has been translated into German and the translation is now part of the Civilization VI Mods - German translations mod pack.
We would be more than happy if you could refer to the language translation in your mod description.

Looks like there is an error in one of the text sqls (taken from Modding.log):

Hello. Can you make a separate mod for a unique improvement? I like the Aztecs the way they are. Just would like to add your Aztec improvement. It's too beautiful)
Maybe 3 Aug, 2021 @ 12:31am
Are there any plans for this to be integrated into Civilizations Expanded like Sukritact’s khmer rework
Filipe 6 Jun, 2021 @ 10:03pm
isn't Eagle warrios too op to be discovered at Militar training? They have 48 power and can stomp any classical unit!
UsualRandom 30 May, 2021 @ 4:12pm
Glad to see this mod is still being updated! Having the eagle warriors be a bit more historically accurate era wise is a nice touch
rocky training montage 29 Apr, 2021 @ 6:10am
Does the unique improvement copy the yields from the listed adjacent resources/improvements?
5ColouredWalker 27 Mar, 2021 @ 2:56am
@NiK Since no one answered and for others, Eagle Warriors are now 45 strength and at Military Tradition. This means they still come rather late compared to swordsmen (Barring tech shuffle), but combined with the luxery boost to attack means they'll last all the way through the next era until Musketmen come into play, and they'll be able to contest knights with difficulty. Just coming back to Civ so I'm not sure how they'll feel, but I'm going to test them out.
Venemar 14 Mar, 2021 @ 1:07am
Might want to update your description to note that for other players :)
Venemar 14 Mar, 2021 @ 1:06am
turns out the crash was related to deleting the Units_AztecRework.sql file. I figured out eventually that you also need to edit the AztecReworkGS.modinfo and remove unit reference from files to load. Worked well after that, and I love the mod!
【 KyoGenryū 】 13 Mar, 2021 @ 6:25pm
doesnt work now (at least me) violation accses error :c
Leugi  [author] 11 Mar, 2021 @ 8:04am
@Venemar: There's no direct conflict with Steel and Thunder, as I made sure the mod worked with it too.

However if you are experiencing a crash on startup you might be suffering the asset limit issue. Might be worth knowing if you are using other mods that add a lot of art aside from Steel and Thunder, like my City-Styles pack or JNR district mods.

Otherwise will do further testing with S&T to make sure I didnt change something in the last version that actually created an incompatibility unwillingly.
Venemar 8 Mar, 2021 @ 11:22am
Unfortunately I have an immediate crash when attempting to use this mod, I'm guessing it might be a conflict with Steel and Thunder, because that also changes some things with the Aztec units. Any advice?
Venemar 28 Feb, 2021 @ 5:34pm
Would it be possible to have the governor as a standalone for Aztec?
Leugi  [author] 16 Feb, 2021 @ 6:12pm
Made some small balance changes and also a tweak so when playing with Monopolies mode the Chinampa doesn't copy luxuries anymore (as it became pretty strong and kinda exploitable because of the monopoly bonuses)
V-tin 13 Feb, 2021 @ 7:38am
@Leugi, whenever I enable this mod, I keep seeing this in database.log:
[Database] ERROR: FOREIGN KEY constraint failed
[Database] ERROR: FOREIGN KEY constraint failed

How can I pinpoint this error?
No Name Legion 25 Jan, 2021 @ 7:42am
alright, thanks
Leugi  [author] 25 Jan, 2021 @ 5:41am
@No Name Legion: Currently compatible, but might need an update for the next NF mode because of the whole luxuries thing... gotta play to see if its OP with the mode or not.
No Name Legion 21 Jan, 2021 @ 4:20am
compatible with new frontier?
Nik 20 Dec, 2020 @ 4:47am
@Leugi: I haven't played with the mod in a while, just curious if you addressed @erik.vale's issue with Eagle Warriors as I myself thought the same the last time I played. I checked the description on this page and in the screenshots and can't seem to find the Eagle Warrior specs anywhere, short of activating the mod again and starting a new game. Just thought that's worth bringing up. Amazing rework btw.
Jimi Hendrix Experience 19 Dec, 2020 @ 8:02pm
Integrate this into civ no cap
BezaoBuilder 27 Sep, 2020 @ 9:36am
Very interesting change, makes the aztecs a faith civ, a civilization that can generate a lot of faith to use where they want. I also like it because it improves on the base concept of the civilization: a civ that can build really good infrastructure.
I think the plan is to go on an early war with your eagle warriors, then build a ton of infrastructure with your builders and win though culture (because a lot of faith)
alejandro 28 Aug, 2020 @ 11:28am
chinampas on marsh perhaps?
Leugi  [author] 17 Aug, 2020 @ 5:46pm
@erik.vale: You bring up good points. Will consider switching the prereq or making the unit itself stronger. Thanks for the feedback!

@Max: Indeed I forgot to mention the Appeal.

About Luxuries not being connected, while it is unintended, I think it works nicely in terms of balance (I've already played with the civ a few times and if I didn't notice it actually didn't copy it then I guess it means copying would make it a bit too strong). So I will change the description so it states the luxury itself is not tradeable I think.
Max 17 Aug, 2020 @ 12:05pm
Also forgot to mention the Chinampa seems to give +1 appeal, this doesn't seem to be documented anywhere
Max 17 Aug, 2020 @ 12:00pm
After doing bits of a game, I really like the lake improvement. Two things I noticed, which I'm not sure are intentional:

1: You DON'T get an extra copy of a luxury if it copies, even though the tile yields change

2: These copied resources give harbors an adjacency bonus (at least bonus ones do; I haven't had the change to test a luxury, but it probably does too) which I think is pretty funny even if unintentional
5ColouredWalker 17 Aug, 2020 @ 7:06am
Having to deactivate this. While I love the changes in general and agree with the spirit of you moving the Eagle Warrior to the tech you have, where it is in the tree is absolutely bonkers without a massive boost to culture. It takes 9 Civics (3 classic) to get a swordsman equivilent unit (2 strength is tiny, even if the lack of iron requirement can be nice) that needs 4 techs (1 Classic). On one hand, you don't want to make them too much more powerful given Aztec's bonus combat power, but by the time they're out crossbowman are just about to be meaning that they're not very conducive to war.

For parity, it might be worth putting Eargle Warrior's in Games and Recreation so that they're as deep into the Civic's tree as Swordsmen are in the Tech Tree. Or it might be worth putting them in Military Tradition (A little Early) with a strength buff in Military Training.
Leugi  [author] 16 Aug, 2020 @ 3:52pm
@Max: It should work fine regardless of the visuals yeah.
