Sorry it took so long to get to this. It was a super easy fix. I think they may have changed the way the game reads the local_en.pack which is why I never noticed it before.

I encountered the same problem as Marcus Acripina (no text for non-mission events), and deleting the entire text/db/message_event_text.loc worked for me. I think this is caused due to the new text for "message_event_text_text_campmap_you_captured_kyoto" could not replace the original.

This mod was pulled from my first overhaul iteration. I put every ability either behind a trait or a skill.

The only thing that should be causing that issue is a mod conflict of some kind. You may have a mod in your data folder that isn't showing up on your mod list in steam?

Hey there, thanks for all the great mods.
Just one question, if i have this mod installed, no matter if alone or alongside other mods, it removes the text from many things, like agent actions or the text you get if a see route was raided. In this case the text box pops up but it is empty.

Sorry I've been a way for a while.
@hashpipe123 each trait has different triggers and some won't trigger if you have a conflicting trait. Also you may have triggered a trait and not see it yet because it requires 3 points in that trigger and you've only got 2. If you download pack file manager and extract the traits script you can figure out the trigger for every trait.

@Lykourgian It's possible, you should be able to just load up your save with that mod disabled and see what stats you get. I have tested all of my stats to make sure if they say they're giving you a stat then you're actually getting that stat.

Is it possible that this mod may be conflicting with UIM and breaking the Mirror of Amaterasu and Summer Son traits? In my campaign I fulfilled the conditions for both, and got the factionwide effects per normal, however my Daimyo did not recieve either of the traits

How do the triggers work exactly? One game I got bloody on a general from losing most my army. Then started over and wanted that trait again so quick saved before a fight so I could save scum and get the perfect win with the right amount of losses. Doing that over and over still no bloody trait. Moved on and did the same thing with 6 more settlements and still no bloody. I don’t get it

Any chance you could make a vanilla version that doesnt add unit abilities? Running this seems to add eagle eye to ranged amongst other things

Oh wow, that'd be amazing I think. I'm currently using your traits mod alongside S2UIM so not using your promotions mod at the moment. I'll try activating the promotions mod at same time tonight and see if that works too. Once again thank you for pushing out these great mods - also in love with your loading screen mod

Almost all abilities are unlocked via the character skill tree if you're using my promotion mod. There are some abilities that can only be unlocked via trait or retainer(luck). That is eagle eye and I think every matchlock ability. I have a few new abilities on my next overhaul that are pretty sweet. Like explosive tipped arrows which I made very rare. Still testing and retesting tho, so I don't know when I'll have it posted.

Thanks for the reply! I had a feeling that one was it haha. So will all generals inevitably gain a trait that allows them to unlock all unit abilities (provided I'm ranking them up to five stars?)

Thanks. The Shogun trait unlocks all abilities. Other traits unlock individual ones. They should say on the trait.

Hi and thanks for a great mod. I've noticed though that my full unit abilities seem to be unlocked by some kind of general's traits. Not sure if it's coming from your mod or from ultimate immersion mod

That should work. But keep in mind the xp traits and other XP scripts give a lot of XP. So if you use with vanilla xp caps then you'll level up very quickly. You can tweak the script XP values and lower them.

i am curious that even when i only use your mods the game crashed, so i try to wipe the data folder and had steam check the integrity, but it still not working, finally i uninstall the game , and reinstall it, finally work...

No, both of these mods can be run independently or with all other 13 mods in the collection. You may have a conflict in your data folder that isn't showing up on your mod list when you start the game. If you give me a list of all the .pack files in your shogun 2 > data folder I can try and figure out your issue. I just tested both mods together and by themselves and had no crashing issues. My mods shouldn't be the cause of any crashes unless there's a conflict with another mod.

This is one of the best Mods you have created for Vanilla, and I have shared it with some of my friends. The problem is that you can still develop it to be more suitable with today's popular Mods .
Obviously it still hasn't satisfied me when playing in Mod 97 all clan.Because I use the General Recruitment Mod when playing in Map 97 all clans. The campaign takes a very long time to complete and I have to recruit 10 ~ 13 General per campaign. I hope that when he recruits General, he will emerge one trait right after recruiting( for now , i trust see Trait Clumsy , smart , odd is emerge after recruiting) so I can develop him in that direction, Warrios or strategis:steamhappy:

New update change notes copy/paste:

Reduced stats of some traits.

Added new traits Famous, Legend, Myth, Conqueror, Ghost. Added trait Demon King for Oda Daimyo which includes Stand and fight. Famous, Legend and Myth traits are only obtained in Fourstrider's Promotion because they're built into the outnumbered xp bonus script in that mod.

Removed some trait conflicts.

That sounds like a conflict with that mod. I've got about 2k turns in so far with all my testing and haven't seen that.

A small bug I've noticed, although it's most likely the mods just aren't meant to be used together, but when I have this mod running alongside Ultimate Immersive Mod, none of the event message texts show up and I just get a blank event for example "Assassin!" and then there'd be not text explaining whether someone was assassinated or just wounded.

I could post a list of all the traits but there's so many different ways to earn each one. I'd have to go through a lot of my script lines to come up with a list. It would be very difficult. I can tell you that some traits are only earned when a general is created, some are earned when at certain building for enough time. Some are earned in battles if certain parameters are met. Some are earned by age. Even if you know the triggers your general might have a trait that will prevent you from earning another trait.

New update copy/paste:

Added new Kyoto traits

Chancellor of the realm
Minister of the Left
Minister of the Right
Grand Minister of State

Each commissioner gets it's own trait if they spend one turn being the highest ranking official in Kyoto.

Shogun

Daimyo will earn this trait if it spends 6 turns in Kyoto.

Added two more faction specific traits.

Hojo - Hojo Supply Network

All generals will get this trait. Starting general and daimyo will get it after the first turn.

Tokugawa - Tokugawa Tax Collector

All Tokugawa Metsuke will earn this trait. Starting Metsuke will get it after the first turn.

Okay it seems you have a mod that's using the unit_abilities table. This table tells the game that ability requires an effect to enable it. I changed the name of my table back to unit_abilities which will hopefully solve your problem without you having to remove that mod. If that conflicting mod also has a non modified table name for that table then there's a 50/50 chance you'll still have the issue until you remove that conflicting mod.

If you do not have the Tosa Born trait or the Eagle Eye trait then you should not have that ability. I have tested this before and after my changes with no problems. Let me know if that worked.

but no matter what faction i chose in either campaign or custom battles all my bow units have that ability. I love your mods btw they really make the game more fun im just wondering if theres a way to fix this

Eagle eye is activated by the new chosokabe trait, tosa born. There is also a very difficult to get trait that will unlock eagle eye as other clans. If you don't have that trait then you won't get the ability.

Thank you! Make sure you update this mod again. I spent all day testing each trait and had to replace quite a few of them because they weren't doing anything. I've updated the description to match the stat changes in the traits. They have all been tested and work. Summer son may still show vanilla stats because I wasn't able to get that trait yet. I may nerf this mod a little after a play-through FYI.

I hope you enjoy it. You'll definitely want to use your agents to scout out AI armies and see what traits they're packing. I feel like traits were so bland and underwhelming. I wanted something strong but not game breaking. I may still tinker once I get enough playtime with them.

These traits changes seem like they'd help push your play style one way or another, which after deciding my style for myself a hundred+ times, looks promising.
