Report a translation problem
I've figured out how to change individual units' weapon colors (such as if you wanted to just change the Guardsmen and nobody else). It's not as simple or elegant as Pilgrim's work, but it's more targeted. I've detailed how you do it in my modding guide:

Installed this mod 11/10 my guardy boiz got their proper lasgun lights.
this looks cooler tho
I'm able to use it with folks that don't have it, so you should be good.
