Yep! You can insert the units directly into the encounter list via the config file in this mod as necessary
If memory serves, the list can be edited, right? It's been quite a while, but I think I added some Advent mods to your encounter list.
no, it relies on its own encounter list called 'AdventForces' which does not auto-include mod added advent units.
What G-V said! Thanks
Glad to hear!
@Arreon
'Show of Force' is kind of this
@CaptainKeeliForever
This would be a better question for Roland
Mkay, thanks for responding.
This mod is not needed for anything. It’s simply a way to make advent enemies appear, if you have many modded enemies in your campaign.
Yep, concurred on all fronts.
When the sitrep gets rolled, yes.
'AdventForces'
@Wrathofanarchy
Within the installed mod path:
[...]\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\2155489611\Config\XComEncounterLists.ini
You may add the units desired in the format provided in the the "XComEncounterLists.ini" file.
I understand your statement - By default, this mod is not traditionally necessary. However, many external mods will add additional enemies and encounters. This mod is a sitrep that offers the traditional advent enemies without additional modded-enemies presence. In other words, if you have a ton of enemy variance, this aims to add some order to that.
@DukeBurger
Potentially!
@EvilPolygons
Makes sense to me, thank you
The custom encounter lists are much appreciated, thanks!
However, players still need to make sure enemy alien mods aren't being added to the vanilla Advent Leaders & Followers lists if they want similar sitreps (eg, Show Of Force) to work properly.
Hi, for units to appear in this sitrep - yes, please use the new naming convention:
AdventForcesFollowers & AdventForcesLeaders
This should be fixed now. Let me know if the enemies you encounter align closer to expectations; thanks for reporting
Actually, I should adjust the naming convention of the encounter list used for this sitrep. I did not intend to use adventleader/adventfollowers explicitly because of the issues you are encountering. I'll adjust!
I had a similar issue with the Show of Force sitrep. The problem was caused by various modders adding their new non-Advent aliens to the Advent-only spawn distribution lists. So the sitrep itself is NOT at fault.
The only way to fix it is by tweaking the XComEncounterLists.ini file of any non-Advent enemy mods you've installed. Remove those enemy types from the Advent-only Leader & Follower lists and this sitrep will work just fine. It will also fix Show Of Force, Advent Training, and all similar sitreps.
Thank you for the kind words!
@Leytra
Hi, if the sitrep is proccing, but still generating external units - another mod is likely overriding or adjusting the active encounter list.
I get the advent forces sitrep but there's still cerberus and collectors being deployed instead.
It's really annoying because I'm using advent to empire and I need archon equivalents to spawn for autopsy but without any advent I'm out of luck
Good question, I don’t think it should matter fortunately. The game should take in the units correctly either way.
@VoidLight
Yeah rulers and chosen are definitely some of the more unique balancing experiences because of that.
I just imagined running into more than 1 ruler at once, made my cheeks clinch lol.
But doable especially since there is a mod that removes that special reaction and leaves them kinda like superior chosen as a boss unit with several action points per turn.
Good question, I like the idea. I’m a fan of any sort of unique encounter. I know the alien rulers have a ton of unique code and rules so I’d have to investigate. I probably won’t be able to look into in the near future unfortunately.
Can you do a mod (if possible) that will tie Rules to a Sitrep (they might need to respawn after 1-3 months to keep it viable throughout the full campaign)? If possible I would like to enable rulers on nearly any mission type and if possible I would like Rulers to start spawning on normal mission before I run into them when assault a facility.
You are correct - you are welcome to adjust the included units in the 'Encounter List' config.
@Pvt. Gomer Pyle
you're welcome, thanks for asking
Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems to me this is potentially "choose your own units" sitrep, Users could add to that config any of the units installed.
Is this correct, or is it hardcoded only for ADVENT vanilla units?
