It's compatible now, as v4.0 only added a country flag for the timeline feature.

My patch does fix this... if you decided to take the event chain.

For 3.9 I've updated it to also fix it if you don't for whatever reason.

This is absolutely the WORST "Feature" in this game by far. Absolutely avoid this entire star system. Garbage.

Maybe this is not fully fixed by PDX (at least for savegames). In fact they changed only one line at code, which shouldn't be enough (even if the reason was another global one).

I think this issue got fixed with the release of 3.0, but I'm not 100% sure

Yes, but in 2.2 it was a different reason. In 2.6 something had changed in the station mechanics. Stellaris has increasing complexity, so we'll see what the future holds. :-P

@ErikV: thx, there was indeed an issue, I fixed this too (maybe you have to stay away from the fortress again for half a year).

Got multiple fleets into a system to kill fortress, I defeated fortress and got the project popup and had time for my guys to come to the ship. But I forgot and when the project timer ran out it got stuck into the re enabling loop.
