@Sunlight88 He contacted me and asked me to not continue it. They never really got approval from the original author and may be remaking the mod in the future instead.

Hi Mlie, thx for the warning and for not completely deleting this updated mod. It is essential for all my playthroughs and I am wondering, why.
Did the author mention, if he wants to continue his this mod on his own and to update it further?
Trunken's profile is private and one cannot see, if he is even still alive.
It is always a great loss for the community, when mods used by many people - currently over 2000 - vanish into olivion... :-{

Yep, it's melee at stockpile's list, but pawns use it like apparel (utility slot).

@Kyzer As stated, the CE patches are part of CE so you need to report issues to them about it.

This mod is ass. It both doesn't work with CE, and the items can't be burned at a fire, meaning I can't fucking fix a save with them in it. E p i c

Reggae Shark; Simple Sidearms seems to work with them for the most part. The only time I've noticed pawns not equipping the right tool is when they're either drafted (field tending) or non-violent.

Is the items outside of smartphone meant to be equipped as main hand weapon? Like grab your tool mod doesn't seem to work, so i cant have them wear a gun then only pull out scissors for example when tailoring, and lets say another "tool" for their other job?

Ah no worries. They're definitely apparel, as I can force equip and it goes in the utility slot, same place as jump packs or shield belts would go. Just missing from the outfit editor for some reason.

@Lurmey I think they count as a tool so they are not part of apparel. But I havent tested the mod that much

Just started making smartphones, how do they work? They seem to be equipped like apparel but they don't show up in the outfit editor so I'm not sure whether colonists will equip them automatically? Do I have to manually equip each one?

It's not possible to make the tools deteriorate over time is it? Weapons never deteriorate unless they're dropped, so these tools probably can't either right?

Just would be nice to have older lower quality tools sort of naturally phase out of use while newer-made high quality tools replace them.

I do not know if this is really a bug, but tools lose their names after reloading save file or game.

Hi mlie, it says that a mod named Niilo's QoL and de-generalize work have the same functions. Is this version of gimmicks compatible with niilos/ if not may you patch it so it works with niilo's qol mod?

@Rayden☆✪ You can use without those mods, I use it without "Enable Oversized Weapons" because it caused heavy frame drops whenever anybody was drafted, but it's generally recommended to use them if you can.

I especially recommend using "De-generalize work" as if you don't, a heavy blacksmith's hammer will buff the delicate process of tailoring clothes.

There's really no reason not to use them, unless they cause issues in your specific environment like EOW did for me. Try them both and find out.

@Rayden☆✪ As stated in the description the oversized weapons is instead of the previously bundled outdated version.
Degeneralized work is to make each tool actually affect the type of work its made for as some worktypes got merged in recent rimworld versions.

For some reason my pawns are unable to smelt or destroy the shovel at the smelter. Every other tool has been fine but the shovel remains untouched somehow.

There's no entry for smartphone in the outfit assign tab, pawns don't equip it automatically even if i add it to the loadout until i force them to do that manually, which can be tedious with almost 50 pawns.

@1337 Kiwi; it works with SS and with SS's tool autoswap except a few like the pillow.

They are equipped in both the weapon slot and the inventory as all sidearms are. Non-violent pawns can equip them.

Hey Mlie, just had a thought - could you make it so the How-To is a utility apparel item rather than a tool/weapon? Pawns unfortunately can't use both the How-To to learn faster and the tool for their chosen profession, such as the foxtail or sickle.

I don't think so I'm afraid. It seems to just read stat bonuses and auto-detect based on that. It works for most if not all the other tools in this mod, just not the pillows as far as I can tell. I haven't thoroughly tested each one though.
