Thank you, that worked perfectly. Thank you for the timely response and, of course, the mod in the first place.

Sorry @deathislife1993 and @SirRacha. Dayjob keeping me busy

Sometimes the workshop downloads an empty folder. In these cases, after subscribing, you will need to manually install the files by downloading https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UnjMiRHkn3r95-lmnIicQ1mv7Qcwcwfm/view?usp=sharing and extracting it into your Democracy 3 folder (On windows 64 bit, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Democracy 3\ ). You have to be subscribed before doing this. No, I don't know why this happens nor how to fix it.

I've added the manual download link back into the description

I'd love to give this a try, but I can't get it to work, nor am I seeing the files to move them around manually.

I tryed to play the mod, but every time it loads this apperse: Inalid neural Function: .\src\SIM_NeuralEffect.cpp 128. What am i missing?

You'll be happy to learn that Limit Automated Trading is cancellable in the current alpha build of Democracy 4.

I also wanted to point out that this is one of the most interesting mod countries I've played (behind only the cyberpunk mod and the Monkey Island mod). It's nice having a scenario where earning money isn't an issue, yet the scenario is still tough.

@toad_004 I tried making it "load a non-existent policy" and it crashed my game.

To change the way an existing policy works, you add a new policy with the same name in the hopes that the game will overwrite the default one with it. This is what the Policies Unrestricted mod does. Unfortunately, an update in 2018 makes it just create two policies with the same name instead.
toad_004 11 Sep, 2020 @ 5:04am
The mod description makes it appear that the only reason you left the uncancelable policies is that there isn't a way to change that through modding. I decided to help by pointing out a method to remove them, albeit in an inconvenient fashion. I had no way of knowing there was another reason why you choose not to do so, I apologize for the misunderstanding.

You can also add "LimitAutomatedTrading = 0" to the county's mission file to force that policy to load with the slider at far left, the "nothing has been outlawed" position for that policy. This does not make your mod require clones & drones , since if a mission file tries to load a non-existent policy, it simply does nothing instead.

Also, if there really is a way to mod an uncancellable policy to be cancellable without changing the game's files, then how is that accomplished?
Frank Hightower  [author] 10 Sep, 2020 @ 12:28pm
@toad_004 because such a change would affect all scenarios, not just mine, as long as the mod is active, which fundamentally changes the purpose of the mod
toad_004 9 Sep, 2020 @ 5:14am
If you can mod uncancellable policies into cancellable ones without replacement, then how is it done, and why didn't you do it in this mod?
Frank Hightower  [author] 7 Sep, 2020 @ 9:31am
Er... no you don't need to replace. You just need to add the folder to your Democracy 3 folder
toad_004 5 Sep, 2020 @ 4:05pm
\Steam\steamapps\common\Democracy 3\data\simulation\policies.csv
\Steam\steamapps\common\Democracy 3\clonesdrones\data\simulation\policies.csv

Make a backup of these files.
Then Open them in Excel or any spreadsheet program.
Press CTRL + F
Click on Replace
Find what: UNCANCELLABLE
Replace with: [leave it blank]
Save and Exit

The only problem is there's no way to upload it.

How do you manually install on mac?
Apex 14 Aug, 2020 @ 6:19am
Unheard of, this mod. And I love it.
LYFBORG 11 Aug, 2020 @ 1:00am
Hey,
Great mod, really love the idea!
This mod actually helped me in creating my own mod. So thank you for creating a great blank slate (haha) for me to create my first very own mod!
So thank you for that! :)

One person has confirmed being able to download the mod and have it show up so I'm taking the notice off of the description for now. The files will remain on Google Drive in case anyone else has problems
Frank Hightower  [author] 8 Aug, 2020 @ 4:21pm
Trying a few things. In the meantime, I've uploaded the mod to https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UnjMiRHkn3r95-lmnIicQ1mv7Qcwcwfm/view?usp=sharing

To install manually, simply extract this into the Democracy 3 folder (On windows 64 bit, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Democracy 3\ ). You do have to be subscribed, though.
Frank Hightower  [author] 8 Aug, 2020 @ 3:34pm
I'm looking into it. Apparently the workshop is right now installing nothing

I have subscribed to the mod, but when I press refresh it does not show up. Am I doing something wrong?
Frank Hightower  [author] 4 Aug, 2020 @ 10:24am
Trivia: the currency symbol ₴ is the Ukranian Hryvnia [en.wikipedia.org], which I chose solely because I wanted an inverted dollar sign. No relation to Ukraine is intended.

Playability rebalances, part 3
- All crises which could be mitigated by using CCTV, can now also be mitigated by using drones, albeit to a lesser degree

This scenario will give you all sorts of difficulties, such as repeated assassination attempts (it really is anarchy!) but the most affecting one will be vicious cycle of an insufficient political capital maximum. Because this effectively makes the game unplayable, these changes have been made to make it possible to manage the crises with less political capital.

The full list encompasses 5 comments.

- Parents and Young people now react to Technology Colleges similarly to how they do to University Grants.
- Policies affecting poor children and farmers now please Socialists to the same degree they annoy Capitalists.
- Education lessens Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Contagious Diseases.
- Conservatives are slightly less offended by Prostitution than the Religious are.
- The Plastic Bag Tax now has the same effect as Recycling.
- Corporate Exodus does not start if Patriotism is high.
- Skill Shortage does not start if Unemployment is high.
- Riots are now caused by the unhappiness of the poor rather than the poverty rate.

Playability rebalances, part 1
- The Poor, Parents, and Retirees, now react to Vouchers as they do to the equivalent State institutions.
- Healthcare Vouchers directly reduce Hospital Overcrowding (think of it as people spreading out among the hospitals better).
- Capitalists now are as pleased by Vouchers as they are annoyed by their State counterparts.
- Clean Energy Subsidies now raise GDP as much as Pollution Controls bring it down, which the Self Employed appreciate.
- Biofuel and Oranic Farming subsidies now actually improve the environment as much as Clean Fuel subsidies (think of the latter as the environment being able to harness those organic pesticides in ways it can't with the chemical ones)
- The Junk Food Tax, Health Food Subsidies and Internet Censorship now please Parents to the same degree they annoy Young people.
- Rent Controls now reduce homelessness as much as State Housing does (think of it as reducing evictions).

Rebalancing tradeoffs, part 2
- Unemployment doesn't push people to gangs; instead, Narcotics do.
- Private Hospitals now have a similar effect on Hospital Overcrowding as State Hospitals; however, Asthma patients now require hospitalization
- Internet Censorship now actually helps control Internet Crime; however, unchecked Internet Crime breeds terrorism.
Frank Hightower  [author] 3 Aug, 2020 @ 9:16pm
Rebalancing tradeoffs, part 1:
- Car Usage doesn't cause Asthma; instead, Tobacco does.
- Drug Addiction doesn't cause Crime; instead, it causes Street Gangs, which can be investigated by Intelligence Services.
- Racial Tension is now fueled by Inequality instead of Poverty.
- Minorities don't turn to violent crime due to Racial Tension; instead, they do so if there's a Race Riot.
- Class Warfare is now fueled by Inequality instead of Poverty.
- Socialists now get pumped up to see the proletariat rise up in Class Warfare, but also are worried about Racial equality
- Conservatives don't care about Class Warfare; instead, Ethnic Minorities do
- Conservatives don't care about Vigilante Mobs; instead, Parents do.
- Conservatives don't care about Armed Robberies; instead, the Self-Employed do.
- Conservatives don't care about Street Gangs; instead, the Religious do.
- Conservatives are less bothered by Race Riots; but Ethnic Minorities are more bothered.
