All ship mods will work with it. Whether or not it contains models for the added shipsets is another question

there used to be a mod for kurogane, called Kurogane without the extras, Maybe you can take than one over too.

No fear. None of the ships are OP. The set changes the GFX of models only. It's like Vanilla just much better GFX.
The sections are just optional and can't be used by the AI.

Yes, for example there is a corvette that has more systems than a typical corvette. Those are not vanilla and provide an advantage especially to human player in multi-player.

Kurogane is my favorite ship set - above all others!

When I play multiplayer I edit the set so that its vanilla Only, No extra layouts. After a simple edit The shipset ends up to have the exact same sections as vanilla. No differences.

If you are interested in the info I can link it to you In a steam PM. I have the instructions connected to the collection I manage in Steam for Stellaris.

I do it for "Kurogane Expanded (New)".

I also do it "Kurosections Expanded Stellaris 3.10.*" Shipset for those that only want the NSC3 sections and not the extra ones in the shipset

Do you mean the ship-sections that are part of the mod and have a different layout than the vanilla sections?

Im not explaining very well apparently. You dont use NSC3. However there are the extra ships in kurogane that are Not NSC3 ships that are OP against vanilla ship sets and still show up. This is why I edit the ship set to make kurogane exactly like vanilla.

Perfect. You won't even recon the NSC ships as they will only be displayed when NSC is installed. In short you are are safe from them. :-)

I LIKE the vanilla ships! I don't need "flagships", "battlecruisers" and/or "assautl carriers" . The vanilla ships are more than enough to me.

This would make kurogane have the same ships as vanilla. Today - you will have the extra ship designs even in vanilla, this has nothing to do with NSC3 ship classes.

I hate using NSC. So, no thank you. All I wanted was to know why in hell the frigate isn't of the same size than the corvette and why both the citadel and the habitat look so small in the Ship Viewer.

@paulo you will still have the additional ship designs from kurogane in vanilla. Unless you edit the files to remove them. i have the instructions if you need them

Huh... It's normal for the frigate to look smaller than the corvette in the Ship Viewer? Also, both the Citadel and the Habitat look rather small in the viewer.

You don't need NSC to use the shipset. Kurogane is compatible with NSC but NSC is not required to use it.

yeah thats what I did. I modified it so that it can be used in a Multiplayer or solo, which is a majority of what I play anyway

First of all glad to hear that it works.

Sorry I can't do anything about the MP settings. The only option for MP is to start the game without KSE.

The Kurogane ship-set has some sections that are not standard as well.

The only way to disable them for MP is to open the mod; go to common\section_templates and to disable the sections there.

This is my favorite shipset. I edited both Kurogane and KSE to remove all the extra sections outside of NSC3 and vanilla. I wish there was a version that did not have the special sections that worked with nsc3 without me messing with it.

Strange thing I was doing some experimenting:
From "Kurosections Expanded Stellaris 3.10.*" I copied "kse_defense_stations_vanilla.txt" and pasted it into the "section_templates" folder of "Kurogane Expanded (New)" and it seems to have fixed it the hanger defense platform graphic....

Now why... I dont know. This was in vanilla without any mods other than "Kurogane Expanded (New)"

Im going to test it with NSC3 now.

The Hanger Station Section shows a vanilla model on defense platform after this last update,
this happens whether using NSC3 or vanilla Stellaris.

NSC3 is coming out tomorrow, do you have a guess when you'll have this mod updated for it? Love this mod and appreciate you taking your time to keep it alive.
