Yeah this is one of the best maps I've played, its actually crazy that there's only 4 portal surfaces. Favourited :love_seagull:

ok i did NOT know that was a thing :o

If you get stuck do what you can

Massive hint: You can walk off the one section and walk up a ramp to get to the other section

Thanks Mattchew, it was fun to watch you solve it live!

I had trouble with words for Observatories, lets see how I do for Lightslicer.

Wow. Some of the best subtleties i've seen in a map, one of the best maps I've done period. It's funny, In retrospect, what you have to do feels so obvious, but its so well hidden while playing. the constant combo of creative moves at the second half is such a nice balance to the very logical first half. This one is definitely going to stick with me, no doubt worth a fav!
SpKi  [author] 11 Jul, 2024 @ 10:55am
@Mabel1618 That is certainly creative but not intended as it falls under the category of cube tossing (which the description states is disallowed). If you need a hint, just let me know.
Mabel1618 11 Jul, 2024 @ 10:37am
i'm not really sure what the intended final move was. i think i got everything else right up to that point. but at the end, to respawn the cube, i threw it into the exit fizzler

We should ban those authors who know maaagic!!!:Pleeease::Pleeease::Pleeease:

Finally I know why I didn't stick to it,this is not fair :p
I'm glad I came back today, and this time the final sequence came to my mind very quickly, but I didn't expect that I wouldn't have to do it myself!:BEBEBEBE:
Everything fits together perfectly and the level of automation is amazing, big big thumbs up n faved!

this puzzle is GOAT

Came back to redact my previous comment: I simply don't worry about geometry that's been specially designed to facilitate nice physics anymore - It is absolutely worth it.

Thanks all.

Fantastic puzzle in all aspects! It was very fun to piece together all of the different aspects of the map that looked suspicious ( Why would the lift go so high? Why is there a cube climb leading out of a seemingly plain area? etc ) and work from there Of course, the puzzle progression is insanely subtle and the sheer amount of cube respawns is phenomenal An easy favourite, well done!

Awesome Map SpKi! One of those "few elements, but well hidden" solution maps :)

Jandlml, did you mean to provide a screenshot or something of the sort? I'm not sure what you're referring to.
jandlml 29 May, 2021 @ 10:40pm
is this at all in line with the series of steps for this map?
Nobody No-One 17 May, 2021 @ 9:38pm
I just replayed this map — honestly maybe an all-time favorite for me in terms of how interesting the solution is and how subtly each move changes the puzzle state, as well as how many times the movable surface needs to be moved back and forth.
Aneonen 10 Apr, 2021 @ 12:02pm
Very nice puzzle! I liked a lot of the implicit necessities, such as maintaining a portal under the dropper or placing the cube close enough to the ledge to be grab-able from below. Re-contextualizing the same surfaces was done very well. I have to admit that one move in particularly was a little conflicting; on one hand the clean cube slide was very cool, but also somewhat unintuitive given that in most visibly similar scenarios the cube would erratically stumble off somewhere else. Of course ultimately it can be hard to include creative moves without forcing the game to behave, so it's understandable.

I'm more pleased with this map than I was with mora :-P Might have to do with my expectations. This one does not have one but even two physics based solutions . The problem is that these solutions don't pop up naturally for me - so this is not part of my consideration. Especially in the finale when the second crucial step seemed rather accidental( pushing the cube off the edge ). When I watched it for the second time I saw that it was tweaked. Well... who could have known it's intended...
Anyway, it's a damn clever map and you did a tremendous job. I just can't upvote a map that doesn't give the player a chance to anticipate specific correlations. And you know what? Just like in Mora I was convinced that the final solution was a different one, which again made me stumble :-(

Truly splendid map, filled with a lot of unique and clever moves! After figuring out the beginning moves I had trouble finding out to progress, so I figured out the ending sequence, which is crazy. The one step that eluded me for a long time was the move where the laser cube respawns itself in order to activate the piston with a delay. It's really surprising how many cube respawns are required. Also, the reason why the first moves are necessary is amazingly subtle. When I was about to solve the map, I wondered what I did in the beginning wasn't required, but it absolutely was! Genius :D

Fantastic map. Hauntingly clever. It's insane how there's so many creative moves and excellent reuses in a map with only four portal surfaces and such a simple looking setup. Huge favourite

Wow, thank you for the high praise! I'm happy you liked it so much. Indeed, I am also quite happy with the first half of the solution since you have to go up the lift twice only to reach a very specific puzzle state which allows the last sequence which is focused on creative moves.
Thanks for playing and the fav!
Teo 8 Aug, 2020 @ 4:33pm
Awesome! I absolutely loved that :D It reminds me of facade in how you ascend the lift multiple times, but each time the cube is in a slightly different position which allows you to slowly progress between puzzle states. I was worried that final move wouldn't work out how I wanted it to, but through some sort of magic it went off perfectly ;) Huge favorite; one of the best maps I've played in a long time

Really clever puzzle; in fact, too clever for me! I was stuck and watched @Omega's walkthrough to get the end sequence - definite thumbs up.

Brilliant puzzle. Excellent reuses. Love the ending. Great job!
SpKi  [author] 6 Aug, 2020 @ 3:27am
Updated. Lapicidas' exploit should be fixed now though if it IS actually still possible ( fixing it automatically also messes with the intended which needs to be easy to perform :/), then it requires insane reflexes. Not gonna bother with that :p
SpKi  [author] 6 Aug, 2020 @ 1:45am
Thanks Omega! Your solution is fully intended. Good to hear you liked it.

Brilliant! My playthrough: https://youtu.be/ruUnlTBSTws
SpKi  [author] 6 Aug, 2020 @ 12:07am
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it. That ending is not intended, that's a very tight timing. There's an easier way to do that. Everything else was fine. Using the track platform to delete your portals is actually not needed as you can just keep your other portal on the bottom surface though it is a clever little alternative. Doesn't really change anything about the solution, though. . I'll try to think of a fix.
