if you were to put a basic extender and add a shield generator where would you put it, Im thinking abou that and adding more fuel.

Still a nice starter. I use in reforge and upgrade as I go until I have main CV. Is also good for doing daily task like autominer collection, POI looting, HV Tank transport and hauling things around. Not too big and easy to land in smaller places.

Thank you all! @Roy, Well, the fuel takes CPU and the grow plots don't. I think this one was very tight on CPU. If I was growing on the CV, I would rather be able to grow more at once and harvest less often too. But, good info. Thanks again all!

Very nice starter. Using it now. The only thing is I think it has more growing plots than needed. Only need 10 max. Wouldn't it be better to have less plots and add more fuel capacity?

Hey Randall Im the one who was Trying to pass off the Reforged compatible version of the Bago. I was actually able to make the rear thrust a little better and did some manipulation of the generators and just some very minor block modifications, Im more than happy to pass it off to you to inspect and repost.

true. that sounds like ah plan. I wasn't gonna go for the mid Skaar CV.. was either gonna go for the Kydex or just wait for Cerb. since playing with 2 buds, we trying to mix up who has what. LOLOLOL... I already told them, they can't use anything Skaar. so i'm secured :)

we just at the point where we need ... yup. the dreaded Neo and Zac, and Eres... I ventured into space on me own without support.

won't do that again :p thanks again for advice. will give it a go.

SpiritofTrini try upgrading with your Multi-tool/and or adding some outer blocks with Titanium. As far as a SKAAR T1 CV goes for upgrade potential: Bago and Koresedge was a great starting point for my ever changing CV thru Research and then Upgrades

T2 Core upgrade gives much room for upgrading (Engines,Shields ;) or as you say:
Go into the Factory for a T2 and then T3 Ship thru just your level, bypassing TECH Tree:)

Thank you Kula808 and SpiritofTrini. @SpiritofTrini, I do not like the fact the you don't even need a hull breach for internal parts to get destroyed. This build was really trying to maximize what I build at tier 1 for a CV. But is is just a steel hull with only 3 turrets with not a lot of thrust power as it was very CPU limited. I guess it was designed as a cheap and disposable tier 1 starter. And thanks again all!

man, the lag shots are killing me smalls. my warp drive is being blown up every time i go into space from those drones with the red lasers... i'm gonna have to move away from this to a different ship, because once you put weight in it in space you move slow and those drones just circle the hell out of you and the guns on the ship is just not doing it :( i'm going to keep this for on planet only.

As a fan of your work, I spawned this into a Reforged Galaxy game. It wasnt optimized, but what was nice is you left enough space that with some tweaking it has become a great "bum barge". Patched on extra thrusters, jammed in an extra CPU extender, added some more generators. Even popped a mining turret on the top rear of the landing pad. Used some of the inner hanger bay for adding a harvester and extenders and I am in business. So, amazing work making a highly functional and adaptable ship that can be built cheap and then grow with the player.

thx for build. This is my first CV in empyrion and now i started visiting other solar systems to get the better ore from asteroids/planets so i can get a for larger and higher tier VC. Found a solar system packed with rare ore asteroids, that i'm going to empty :D I was wondering if i could just put in a tier 2 core and equip this Skarr Bago with mining equipment, so i don't have to do it manually in space. Working fine mining manually with epic drill in a space suit, i just mine with drone and come close to the thrusters and when heat stroked move into the cold space again, rinse repeat, but off course it would be more chilled to do inside ship :D

I haven't played a swamp map yet, but do you have any trading stations either planetside or in orbit? In my Arid world I have a Polaris trading station which I sell pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, multi tools and ore scanners to, then I use its teleporter to get to the orbital trading station, where I use the money to buy out all the ingots in stock. It should restock once every In-game day

It takes quite a few in-game days doing this to build up enough for a CV, but you might also build up your bank balance in the process, and it never hurts to have spare money that you can use in 'station services' once the CV is complete.

I love the overall design of this ship a LOT! One thing that I noticed taking it out on Creative mode, is that it could use a bit more thrusters. It is a little on the slow side for me. Especially if I need to run from something in space.

Thank you JohnNav, Whoops, Joe, and Lyric Lahnder! @Joe, well, The Nomad was a bigger ship with more stuff. I did make 3 other starter CV's since the nomad which are much more updated. The Wayfarer-ST, MCRN-Pioneer, and Kriel Shade. Those would be better as a direct replacement with features and options, but are also tier 2 and more expensive than the Bago. And thanks again all!

Although i go with JohnNav for certain details. The important criteria for a ship like this is "being able to get it". Mine is halve the neodymium. A resource that you might not get naturally on your starter planet. The one thing you really want from this ship is being able to move around your big cargo bay ASAP, the rest is just something you also have to pay for in order to get what you really want. I've noticed in X playthroughs that i do not use an SV anymore once i got the extremely cheap starter CV because that basically IS a very comfortable SV. CV CPU T2 is extremely cheap and the player will start upgrading right away because he CAN - once he got the ship, that is. So imho being able to GET the ship is the one key strength of a build like this.

Regarding Changes:
Do I have a MED bay in my parked HV/SV
Can I totally stock my CV from a land Farm before my Mission
Do I really need 2 Food Processors or both Refers.
Cargo Storage is huge
The 2 Passenger Seats (That can be stored in Cargo until needed)

This ship is a beauty :) We can tailor the little things until we are are ready to start T2 upgrading

Thank you ZappPSR, Fixitman64, DocRabbit, Red Baron, JR3050T, and JohnNav! @JR3050T, ZappPSR, and JohnNav, building this ship was a battle of wills with CPU. lol I so wanted more fuel, and advanced constructor, room for a shield and T2 upgrade parts, etc. But I just could not do it. I was so block tight even thinking about a place for the shield would blow the CPU. lol As it is, even one block added will bring above CPU limit. I normally do starter CV's at tier 2 level with plans to upgrade to tier 3, but this one was for a challenge to be tier 1. If I could have just made it a bit bigger I could have found a place for a shield, more fuel, extra generator, T2 block, Offline protection, more storage, etc., but it would have costed more too. Thanks again all!

I do not think I need 18 Grow Plots; not really sure I need 9 (I have cold Storage) and this should be more then enough to get to the bodies within my starting Solar System and back. This can free the Deck and add more CPU availability, this I can add latter with my T2 upgrade

I like the options that the CV BAGO offers us, we can change the little things we want :)

Since T1 was for the challenge ... just some functional thoughts
... you need an adv constructor to make the steel grow plots which you may well not have (or a T2 base to install one in)
... on low power (fridge and grow lights) you've just under 4 hours fuel capacity ... at least for MP you wouldn't bother planting it ... the plants would be dead every time you logged in.

Myself as with many other Players, are on the harder 'Slow progression' setting
Soon as I get to a higher Tech, looking forward to making upgrades above Tier One as we now can enjoy this awesome early obtained powerful asset.

I also look forward to Space Combat launching my upgraded SV Dart in support
of the BAGO's 3 Turrets ;)

Love this build, I added it to my starter base to cv collection with some modifications. I've been getting in to a CV as first base mindset where the player spawns in a bare bones CV, with no thrusters/chair or any high end equipment that doesn't pass level 7. The player then can upgrade this "base" and leave the planet leaving nothing behind.

First, congratulations on another great work! I thought there was a "fuel leakage" at first but then I compared this fuel tank (2400) with my Merc-MX5 tank (4800) and then I noticed it is really a small tank for such big vessel. I think it was because the miracle of making this so nice ship stay in T1. I'm keeping extra fuel in storege in case of need becau it really drains fast even with power savings measures such as no gravity.

With the CV Bago at T1; for a newbe, this is now at the Lowest Level I can learn and build upon ;)

Thank you intrasonic! I never actually planned on making a T1 CV. I normally go for T2's that can be upgraded to T3. But this was for a challenge and a T1 was needed. I thought about allowing it to be upgraded to T2 but it would have had no space for a shield and it was block tight meaning I could not add anything else without raising it to a T2. And thank you again!

Nicely done. While the idea of trying to stay within T1 for a CV is a little weird (since the T2 extender actually needs less rare metals than a single engine), it's still an interesting way to push your design abilities, and you came up golden on this one!
