Historical records indicate that Chen Commandery existed and retained its name during the late Eastern Han and early Three Kingdoms period, at least until Cao Zhi's death in 232 AD, as he was given the title of Prince of Chen after Cao Pi became emperor, thus did Cao Zhi succeed Liu Chong as the new Wei Prince of Chen.

The renaming to Pingyu and the transition to Qiao Commandery likely occurred posthumously, possibly during later reorganization efforts by the Wei or Jin dynasties, but it's difficult to say when this happened, if it ever even did happen during the administration of Wei at all. Likely not until Jin.

So, I think you are just a fan of the KoeiTecmo games, and wanted to rename it Qiao commandery, and the city renamed to Pingyu just because you like it that way, not because you want historical accuracy.

This mod works currently on v1.7 of 3K so it *is* updated.

Is this compatible with a current save game?

hello, is it possible to make the province - commandery names after the first letter in lowercase when they are referred to in missions? I realized that even past the campaign map, all other referrals in the game to the names are all in uppercase

@jrossp Yes it's possible and there is already a mod called United After Division (UAD) did this. Every region is made to an independent city (but you may not actually want it if you don't have a high-performance PC lol).

Lizshaw, is it possible to make a single district in a commandery a commandery unto its self (for example: breaking the three districts of Qiao into three separate, one territory commanderies) By the way, im not recommending you do this just curious because I may attempt a map mod if its possible.

Glad you like it. Actually I did just as your suggestion said in the first place. You can click the first two links to see the Chinese versions of this mod.

However when I made the English version, I found there were too many characters in one commandery, like GUANGYANG commandery with JI and YUYANG countries. If names of commandery and countries all used the same font and direction, it looked not so good.

Nicely done map! Cool to see the system visible. I love everything you did about this, but have small suggestion. It's just the font for the Commandery is too big and doesn't really match with one used for smaller regions.

If it's only slightly bigger and/or bolder with the same font you used for counties I feel like it would give overall map more readability / uniformity and will be more pleasant to look at.

But with all due respect if you could send me an English list of all the Province - Commandaries' names I will try to translate into Vietnamese. Then I will send you back the Vietnamese list and you can publish as a Vietnamese version? This would be a great way. Please let me know... :)

@jrossp @EmpyreanSpar09 Yes Chen was a fiefdom of Liu Chong and became a commandery in around 197AD. The Chen commandery in game is actually a combination of Chen, Liang and Pei (changed into Qiao in around 210). Since Qiao is much larger than Chen & Liang, I picked Qiao instead of Chen. Besides, Qiao is also famous for being the hometown of Cao Cao's family.

@EmpyreanSpar09 I believe Qiao wasnt a commandery until Cao Pi made it so. In fact, I think the Chen could possibly be changed to the principality of Pei.

Also, I think Xu province encroaches to far west (I feel yan should be slightly more expansive eastward)

@jrossp though not sure if Qiao is the current commandery name but historically Chen was a fiefdom not a commandery.
