Any chance you can make the effect apply to your own soldiers that have a different elevation? They appear solid blue too.

Thankyou :) I am happy you enjoy it.

Awesome mod btw looks really cool!
Phoenix 6 maj, 2024 @ 21:07
Thanks so much!
RustyDios  [skapare] 6 maj, 2024 @ 21:01
Yes. And both Scanning Protocol/Battlescanners and Target Definition outlines will be red.
Phoenix 6 maj, 2024 @ 18:54
So I replace "UI_3D_RustyScanMaterials.M_Scan_Hologram_Blue" and "UI_3D_RustyScanMaterials.M_Scan_Hologram_Yellow" with "UI_3D_RustyScanMaterials.M_Scan_Hologram_Red" right?
RustyDios  [skapare] 6 maj, 2024 @ 17:02
Yes. if you look in the config you should be able to see clearly where it assigns the colour.
you will want;
"UI_3D_RustyScanMaterials.M_Scan_Hologram_Red"

hmm, unless you mean one colour for friendlies and one for enemies .. then, no. the code cannot currently distinguish friend from foe, added to my list of things to investigate though !!
Phoenix 6 maj, 2024 @ 15:33
Is it possible to change the color of scanned enemies to red instead of yellow?
Unkind_Ocean208 6 jan, 2024 @ 17:26
this is brilliant.
JazzimoX 8 jan, 2023 @ 16:17
Is there a way for me to change the config to also affect the mesh when units are behind walls? I can't find a way or a mod to do it, but I think this would fit in that context as well.
Moisesjns 10 apr, 2022 @ 16:39
is it lacking? Creator says yes. But i say NO its awesome! thank you.
Povuh 11 dec, 2021 @ 3:42
The original effect is awful, this is much better!
Boberto 3 apr, 2021 @ 9:18
@RustyDios Awesome! I love the look of your mod!
RustyDios  [skapare] 3 apr, 2021 @ 2:00
Technically yes, as that mod just turns Scanning Protocol into limited duration Target Definition.
Scanned units should end up with the same yellow effect as Target Definition and you will never see the blue effect.
Boberto 2 apr, 2021 @ 20:08
Is this compatible with "[WotC] Scanning Protocol Fix"?
Musterduck 21 mar, 2021 @ 22:21
beautiful! was just thinking the other day about how the default scan look bugged me but I never would have thought someone fixed it
Haywire 14 mar, 2021 @ 17:16
This is one of those "didn't know I wanted it til I had it mods" and now is "one of those mods that I can't imagine playing without." At least to me anyway. Well done. :-)
p6kocka 13 nov, 2020 @ 0:42
I just want to thank you for this mod. It looks so much better.
Jestimac 5 nov, 2020 @ 23:27
@ Rusty Dios. Hello. I have been using this mod for a few days now. I agree with AlienLab completely. It does bring a significant cosmetic enhancement to any tactical mission. Well done.

Great mod, thanks! Love these mods that add a little bit of polish where I didn't even realise it was needed.
RustyDios  [skapare] 7 okt, 2020 @ 4:50
I'm sorry. With language like that, it's really difficult to believe you are not personally attacking me. Hiding your intended words with a slight spelling error so steam doesn't ban you for abusive behaviour is really immature. There is simply no need for words like that. I have done nothing to deserve such insults and have done my best to answer your poorly worded question.

It clearly states on the 2nd line of the description what this mod does.
"It makes units that have been scanned look like the mimic beacon holograms." The entire description then goes into more depth. Most mod authors put a lot of care into writing and formatting those descriptions, they're not just unnecessary walls of text.

Your question was answered within the first 30 words. "scanned units look like holograms". It shouldn't matter what team they are on, if they have been scanned, they will get the new material instead of the default game one.
RustyDios  [skapare] 6 okt, 2020 @ 23:10
Yes that is true, it's usage makes little sense in other languages. Honestly, I don't have enough knowledge of all languages to know for certain it makes little sense ...

My points still stand that his original comment, phrased in that manner, falls under the categories of; a) answered by mod description text, b) pointless or c) unrelated.

I answered to the best of my understanding of what he could mean, and even after the abusive comeback, I want to check for understanding. Working my best to get over the established language barrier.

I didn't intend for any offence. I care when people ask me a question and I like to answer it. I care when people leave comments on my mods. I like to respond when required to do so.

I'm only human ... if the question isn't clear or presented in a way that makes little sense.. I dislike having no answer.

@RustyDios
too be fair WTF is a well known acronym, and can be used by non-English speakers
RustyDios  [skapare] 4 okt, 2020 @ 14:28
Yes was one of the options I presented... option 3; language barrier.

You do however have a good enough grasp of the language to understand exactly what I wrote and even to use the abusive 'WTF' acronym in your response.

However, I really have no time for word games today. Was your question perceived and answered correctly in a manner that is satisfactory for you ?
RustyDios  [skapare] 4 okt, 2020 @ 14:16
@13Crusader13(TWW2019Top8Winner)

I've seen your comments on alot of mods lately, and either there is an age/ maturity/ language/ trolling barrier .. or your questions are a) already answered by the mod description text, b) pointless or c) relate nothing to the mod in question.

Please clarify exactly what you mean to say by ' is apply on friendly units or can update' ?

To answer that question in the best way I can interpret it;
This mod is a materials swap mod that will apply to all previous instances of where the material was used. So yes applies equally to all units, enemies and allies alike.

Hey worth a shot on my next campaign love the idea and can't wait to see where you go from here.
Jestimac 20 sep, 2020 @ 12:05
I will try this. The idea is brilliant and the file is small. Well done !
Hotl3looded 20 sep, 2020 @ 11:59
Looks very nice! I will definitely try it in my next run.
Samio 20 sep, 2020 @ 11:20
Solid work, well done :)
Cyberdisc 20 sep, 2020 @ 8:21
This is great, nice work!
RustyDios  [skapare] 20 sep, 2020 @ 6:35
@Kexx thanks!
@SentrySent not that I noticed
@Valvatorez Unfortunately I couldn't get past assigning the two colours, to the two distinct places. I had made a red, green and purple material with the intention of using them in different places, but it's beyond me -currently. It is something I want to develop in the future though.
Valvatorez(Cox Cable = awful ISP 20 sep, 2020 @ 5:38
You should assign purple to psionic units.
SentySent 20 sep, 2020 @ 5:32
Does this holographic effect causes performance dips?
Kexx 20 sep, 2020 @ 5:00
Sometimes it's the small changes that make a huge difference. Count me in!! I too hate the red look, this is so much better! Thanks for making, and congrats!!
