Fairly nice concept. I think the design can be salvaged and overhauled but it will take a fairly colossal amount of work. I would first strip out the internal thrusters, then shorten the ship, taking a few rows out of each section, around a dozen rows from the tail alone. Then I would detach the front, fix it, make sure it can function as a dropship, then bring it back, work out a good docking system, then work on the rest of the ship. Unless I get some pretty eager requests for this overhaul, I'm just not excited by it enough to take it on on my own.
