If u have the Tannerkivi stone with this mod, every grab by wand result in local eathquake, which is kinda.., troublesome. Even if u change the kick button, its still trigger eathquake. I guess need to accept my fate, but i wish this not trigger the kick mechanic.

can you change the keybindings to something like Z and X other than the ones that have you kick and eat? would be really cool

Would be more useful if it actually allowed you to grab things at range and/or through walls. Not really good for much right now.

mind adding a init done checker to stop new wands being made every load after dropping it ala:

Throw flasks is also a face button; a little less awkward because it's the top one so I don't have to contort my pointing finger too much to reach it without letting go of the thumbstick (at least playing with a PS4 controller, I don't have much experience with Xbox controllers).

I think that same button also throws items, but the trigger will also throw items that are just carried without special actions.



Can't you just replace the call for the drop function with the call for the throw function for the grab spell, and leave the controls as is?

due to how it works, i cant really switch those, but would the button for throwing items/flasks work?

Alright, it works. Though, it feels it would make more sense to swap the drop and throw, the trigger is currently dropping objects but it usually is used to shoot things, and the interact button is on the same side as the aiming stick on the face of the controller, so I have to let go of the aiming to throw; it would feel more natural to use the shoot button to throw without needing to let go of the aiming, and for dropping aiming doesn't matter much so it would be ok to have it be on one of the face buttons.

Can you separate the dropping from the picking up action, or would they both have to be moved? Grabbing with the trigger still feels natural, it's just the dropping that feels out of place.


Btw, it's great that you're tweaking the mod so quickly to try my suggestions, I really appreciate it :)

Oh, I just got great idea: What if the distance was based on the cursor/crosshair, not stretching all the way across the screen, but like whatever fraction of the maximum distance would make for the current longest length of the wand? This would free up all the buttons used for controlling the length to be assigned for other things, right? Though, do you know if the game treats the stick like the mouse or if it just always reports a fixed distance at whatever direction no matter how little you push the stick?

Are you able to pick any of the keys/buttons listed in the game's config.xml? I'm looking at it now, and I'm thinking perhaps you could use the Throw command that makes you throw away objects (if you can make it so the player won't also drop the wand at the same time). Or how about using the Interact key/button? Or worse case, pick either the next or previous item command, since it would not be much of a big deal to switch to a different wand or flask when throwing something.

Oh, there isn't a standalone upward key? Hm, I wonder if maybe I'm just floating on liquids and I just instinctively pushed the stick up and assumed it was doing something when it was just the buoyancy happening...


Hm, I forgot, when we get those spiderlegs perk, are we able to move upwards without pressing the jetpack key/button?

i hope im not misunderstanding you. but the upwards movement and jetpack is the same on keyboard, but i can add an option to switch to that control scheme.

Is there a way you can hook up to the upward movement input to let that be used to extend, and that would free up the kick for throwing? (I don't mean the jetpack, I mean moving up, like when you swim for example)

should work but the controlls would be different,
grab is on the fire button,
increase range is on kick,
and decrease range is on down/eat

Really great idea, for your first mod this is really good I always had to spawn that perk that lets you pick up objects but now you fixed it. Thanks man can't wait to see what else you have in store for us. :necroheart:

its cool, but would be better with a longer range instead of just being a "look i can pick up things" mod. like at least you could throw it with a right click and just drop it with a left click. nice mod doe
