The workshop version isn't exactly great for new additions, maybe one day I can release a new list menu version I have which is easier to add things to, I just don't know if the list menu will work outside of the server project it was made for.

In the meantime however, if you wanted to edit what I have coded up and credit me for the original I'm fine with that, maybe one day i can release the better version. I'm currently swamped redoing base building and other things for my 10 year old zombie survival project I'm trying to round off at the time of typing this.

ever plan to add fpv drones. this mod is awesome already but adding fpvs might make it legendary.

i tried the example from this link:

but for some reason, the Darters don't even appear in the Eden Editor.

When i place a UAV Operator on the ground and try to assemble the UAV, it gives an error message like:

'bin/config.bin/CfgVehicles/O_UAV_01_F.simulation'

of course, the UAV names change depending on the faction's drone i'm trying to assemble.

also, thank you so much for your help.

my idea is to create a mod where the player can use their UAV Terminal to hack enemy drones and take control of them.

This would be especially useful and incredibly fun in Antistasi campaigns. :)

Not familar honestly with the hacking mechanism of Arma but maybe we can look into it, send me a message we can check it out.

hey hi, awesome mod, i'm trying to create a mod that allows the player to use the "Hack Drone" option from far as long as the player can see the Drone itself, i have been playing around with the "O_UAV_01_F"

but i'm kinda lost tbh.

in your mod, for players to hack the drone, they still have to get close to it ?

also, if you have any idea on how i should procced on this mod creation i would for sure credit you when is ready.

Also make sure you have a Nato UAV Terminal and Custom User Action 16 bound, I don't think it requires the nato UAV terminal but it might. It's been a long while since I looked into the scripts.

Some mods may break functionality of course, I didn't test many things with it however, just ran it with no mods on a blank VR map.

If you have a list of mods that break it or vice versa feel free to list them I'll annotate it in the description as they get discovered.

Mod is still functioning fine as intended aside from a small script error which doesn't effect functionality.

I was using BI's default revive system, no ACE. No traits or items required either. Basic config for revive.

So as of right now, the medical drones cannot revive or heal other players. The owner can heal themselves from the vehicle, the revive function is not working entirely and other players are unable to heal from the drone. Tested using our modpack and also completely vanilla.

I'd have to increase the time, there was supposed to be RPG mechanics that let the player upgrade their drone skill, which allowed them to extend time lifespan of the drone, eventually making it so they can run solely off the drone battery which is much longer than the 3 mins allotted, but I scrapped it due to there not being a universal way to level up / store variables per server, so I could increase the drones for a whole longer period of time I suppose, or scrap it, but scraping it would cause issues, extending it would be the best route for now.

Interesting.. I'm unsure why, I'm assuming its how it adds them to your team and swapping something to "side player" would solve it, it may be a few before I get as I'm still swamped, but O should be able to get around to it and look, I'm a bit fuzzy on the way the scripts function off hand. But I bet "side player" on the drone creation in the may fix it.

They do work with NATO troops and NATO UAV Terminals however, if the Independent Faction is your enemy, the drone will shoot the BluFor troops as well.

They should work with nato troops, I tested only as nato / west faction during the testing (I should have tried other factions), I can take a look here in a day or two, I'm so swamped with stuff IRL and internet projects.

The drones deploy as the Independent faction, so when I release the controls they shoot at me. Is there a way to make them the NATO faction instead?

Derp, I forgot about iskindof, I could probably hook up something later as I was planning to make the drones launch off a single file and just have the interface have the script act differently depending on what button you press, all easy stuff. I'm swamped currently atm working on a pubg clone for Arma I'm working on, its PvE oriented. It will be a modless mission file hopefully.

I'm adding the super drones guns back, but also adding it to the armed UGV. I added a heal option to the Medical drones, and replaced the combat UAV with the Darter, but left it's demining charge ammo, and added the 9mm smg to the Combat drone also. Update should be out later.

Well, the bug with the player becoming invisible is fixed, but now the drone is no longer tagging enemies for me.

I tried playing around with making the demining / recon drones drop actual smoke grenades, which is why they now use mortar smoke shells, if I figure out how to do that I'm betting it will work the same with landmines.

Also I probably could, maybe I'll do another UGV.

Yeah I'll have that fixed. I'm using setcaptive to protect the player from being seen, the intended use was to protect them from getting killed during the throw animation, but did not shut off till the script closed due to how I made it. I fixed it a bit ago (hour or so) should be updated by the end of the night. It will include an option for custom fly time.

This mod is great, I've been waiting for something like this. Pairs really well with Enemy Tagging System. When I leave the drone in auto hover mode and release control though my character seems to become invisible to all AI enemies.
