I started a new game, without this mod, and chose a different mod that has hardware as well... managed to get the software and hardware factory production working, on first attempt.

Sounds like it might be a bug with modded hardware in-game, I'll try to reproduce this for you.

Dismantled and rebuilt the whole thing a few times, tried several things... always got the message that there wasn't any compatible assembly lines, even though it was showing (green) the proper number of component printers, assemblers, etc... and the manufacturing process flow lines were all green. This was for the "Hosting Server" hardware blueprint stuff (part of this mod).

I ended up scrapping the whole thing, and just making Console OS and hardware, which worked immediately the first try.

You have to select everything in the assembly line and then add it via the manufacturing window iirc.

I have built manufacturing for Server (Hosting) hardware, all things connected and green... yet I get a message saying that I have no compatible assembly lines available to start processing.

Thank you for the feedback! I was not originally the maintainer of the companies section, so I will take a look soon. The numbers will likely need to changed and maybe some of the company types will have the OS software removed.

Yo, it's not necessarily the companies that make the NEW software, it that there are now like 10 companies making just computer operating systems alone. It makes it very hard to sell your software because you have to build your software for 10 OS's. That is all. But thanks for the response. I will say that in game in the mod menu it does actually say that more personalities are being added.

Good luck with the modding. I don't think I have the time and energy to learn modding for this game to contribute anything other than feedback. And what I said is pretty much all I had.

I fully understand the points you are making. Unfortunately I am currently behind on properly maintaining the OE-O mods. This is because I am the only active contributor for "Software Inc". This mod adds/alters 13 SoftwareTypes, 6 Companies, and 36 personalities. When I have time to go through and update everything, I will.

Regarding the companies: if this mod didn't add any more, then the AI would not be able to create the software. I can change the chances to be lower if you think that it would be a good idea.

I don't really like the fact that in one or more random of all of your mods adds stuff in that is not even in the description. I like what they say in the description but now I have 40 more personalities and theres all of the sudden 20 corps making OS software instead of 2/3.

Are there versions that just add new software and hardware and companies that make the added new software types WITHOUT adding 20 corps making every type? Just not more to the ones that are already made in vanilla.

I want to play with these mods but not with those specific additions that don't fit the mod description IMO.

i simply just don't have any options to create any of the modded software. all i have are the default options

There have been no changes to the personalities since 1.0

I only wish for a way where you can turn off the personal list, you can spent 1-2 million on a team of 10 x3 just to make them fair friendly 10k at time. (else The older mod was fine balanced).
