In my opinion, the best start location called Mannahoac, you start in a big empty area, plus with another empty area across the river.

Well I checked around a bit to find a better spot but still animals were VERY rarely on the whole part of this side of the map and the other side which had all the animals were full with stones, trees and stuff one couldn't build on before the places was cleaned from all the resources. Thanks for the reply though. :)

The map isn't designed to start where you spawn. Explore and find a place you want to build. As far as animals and resource spawns, those are entirely random. These cannot be tweaked so I suggest restarting your map or punching in new seeds if you don't like the maps provided.

I started at the already marked location and noticed that all the resources are on the back so there can be a free space in front of the lake so the workers have to walk long distances to get resources for the most part and that all the time.
This wasn't the biggest issue the, the biggest issue was that all the animals were on the other side of the river with rarely some coming over to my side so getting enough skin became VERY cumbersome very fast. so it really needs some tweaking when it comes to it.

I have a different problem.
The map is nice and you can build big settlements.
But .... I did not find a settlement yet where I detected wild growing corn, wheat, flax or peas.
That results (for me) in problems mid Game (between neolytic and copper) when I developed all that hay/straw stuff already but do not have any because I can't get it from wild plants.
And the wild animals nearly get extinct (especially rhinos and mammuts) too early.

Titan, it looks like you are confusing flint and stones.
Fire do not need flint, only stones and sticks.

Played this mod for a bit but sticks were an issue. There isn't much close to the cleared areas. Also noticed the animals move away from any area that a village is started on.

having problems with flint . i have gathered flint in a rock storage but no one will use flint when building . set building to high priority and still no flint , every other resource needed gets dropped off but its like the flint cant be used anymore . note i can still make tool etc this is limited only to building . main problem is no fire equals no cooked meat , so i figured ill farm and live off breed as everything else works perfectly . no need flint to get flour , as it stands i cant play it anymore so any tips to fix this would be great . other then that this is an amazing scenario for a chill game

If you remove cave lions altogether, you will eliminate 95% cases of hungry animals attacking humans. Might as well remove all predators, save wolves cause you need dogs

Cannot cross the river: raiders, traders, or people with sledges. Trying to build a bridge, my people wore themselves out going back and forth endlessly with loads of logs from the river to my settlement. They can swim across otherwise. They don't want to use a shallow crossing, either. Hope that helps.

Running version 1.7. I choose settled, there are no buildings anywhere? When I choose normal and tell them to go get flint no one moves?? Stuck on the no flint message. What am I doing wrong ?????

RE: aggressive animals
Animals can attack just like raiders. This setting has been disable. However, some animals will attack when they are hungry. There doesn't seem to be anything a modder can do about that, at least that I am aware of. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Love this scenario and map. It's so peaceful to play, I enjoy it, but how come I find no grains or chickpeas ect. enywhere?

I love this map, it's just wonderful to have. I finished the tech tree, the milestones, and got an extra 150 Knowledge points on this map, before I stopped. Though, Wolves and Bears were spawning, which they apparently shouldn't? No raids though.

For those asking for Raiders simply change the values for them in the scn.xml file with notepad ++ or something of your choice.

I'm subbed, but I would also like a version with raiders and aggressive animals. The choice between a casual experience and the full game experience would be appreciated as which one I want to do can vary.

the map is very good and accurate for locations that would be settled by early civilizations. Why the creators of the game believed that people would settle in uneven terrain is a mystery. they obviously never heard of the cradles of civilization

Please add Raiders and aggressive animals! Its great just because we have an amazing start there is not that much to look forward to after you have succesfully protected your city. Adding raiders and aggressive animals would add a tiny bit more of a challange which would make this so much more fun!!
