I do not know. I was only able to choose from what was on the workshop at the time. unfortunately the Update button is entirely missing in the game (for District Styles) and the dev / Steam have not fixed this issue for 2.5 years, so no District Styles can be updated.

Great hi-dense residential and commercial. Are there lvl 2 and up low-density assets?
m4gic  [author] 17 Nov, 2023 @ 1:27pm
Thanks! It is in the description above: the Village style is for smaller, more primitive settlements.

Love these assets! Question: What is the difference in "Medieval Village" and "Medieval Town?" Thanks!!

But with this Style the buildings are very small, like 1x2 or 1x3 or maybe 2x2 in some cases. Very few are larger than that, so if you just paint a whole area with zoning the tiny assets probably will not spawn - the game prefers to spawn 4x4 assets whenever it can, and without any (or very few) in this Style your game will not spawn growables if you just paint an area. Instead, paint small 1x2 or 1x3 or 2x2 sizes, isolated, then after an asset spawns you can paint the blank space next to it, if you want, to make another small asset spawn.

When your city reaches the third Milestone you will unlock the ability to paint a district. It is on the UI bar at the bottom of the screen, near the left side, and looks like a gray polygon. Click that, paint your district area on the ground, then click the white text that shows on your map -- this opens the District Overlay where you can see stats on the District as well as rename it. At the bottom of this overlay window is the District Style drop-down. Click that and select the Style you want to apply to the District.

By the way - you should unsubscribe from any assets you aren't using in any given city. Disabling a Style does not remove the assets, as you saw with the dragons continuing to spawn in your modern city. The game loads every single asset you have every time you load a city, so it can take a long time to load, can lead to crashes if you exceed your memory limits or pagefile sizes, and it is just a good practice to unsubscribe from assets that you won't be using in any given city. This is actually why I created these Collections and Styles in the first place, so that I could have different types of cities and always easily subscribe and unsubscribe to the assets necessary for each.

Thanks again.
m4gic  [author] 11 Sep, 2021 @ 8:50pm
unsubscribe from the asset "dragons lair" and the "dragon" citizen
xander2245 11 Sep, 2021 @ 7:25pm
How do you disable dragons when you want to go back to playing modern? I disabled the theme, but the dragons stayed.
m4gic  [author] 31 Aug, 2021 @ 7:27pm
Sweet, thanks! I’m told there’s a way to make them breathe fire and smoke…
MadSynth 30 Aug, 2021 @ 11:35pm
Subscribed to this. Did not notice the dragons part. LMAO! Total gamechanger.
m4gic  [author] 21 Aug, 2021 @ 8:30am
did you subscribe to the entire Collection?
dedeman 21 Aug, 2021 @ 12:38am
why does it say ''no building included
m4gic  [author] 17 Aug, 2021 @ 1:22pm
All good. Post your screenshots!
xander2245 17 Aug, 2021 @ 1:03pm
Thanks for the response. Upon further inspection of the missing assets I noticed they were modern assets. I can't believe I didn't see that the first time. Things are shaping up quite nicely.
m4gic  [author] 17 Aug, 2021 @ 9:19am
I just took this screenshot - everything works fine :D

I just subscribed to the Collection and loaded my Medieval City and everything is fine. Any missing assets are either: 1) isolated to your computer, which may have run short of RAM and/or pagefile space and failed to load some assets and/or 2) purposefully not included in this Collection because the asset or prop is too modern. Anyhow, it does work fine for me and hopefully works for you to make a cool medieval city!
m4gic  [author] 17 Aug, 2021 @ 8:46am
I did not subscribe to a lot of the props that came with the buildings - this is because those props are things like rooftop antennas or satellites or other things that would not fit in a medieval city. Despite the error message are you still able to grow a medieval city using the Collection and Style?
xander2245 17 Aug, 2021 @ 8:19am
Fyi I did "Subscribe All" to the collection above.
xander2245 17 Aug, 2021 @ 8:19am
Any idea why when I try to load a game with this app is says there are like 166 missing assets?
Arnolf Hüttler 27 May, 2021 @ 5:40pm
thansk!
m4gic  [author] 27 May, 2021 @ 5:26pm
The District Style is just a list of assets that the game will try first and exclusively to grow in an area you assign it to.

The District Style does not, itself, contain any of the assets used in the style, and if you have not subscribed to the assets then the District Style will have no function for you.

Simply click on the Collection above (that has the 280 items) and Subscribe to All. Wait until that is finished (a few minutes) and then launch the game. You will have the assets and the District Style and can then use it in-game.

Be aware that most of the assets in this Style are low level, like level 1 or 2, so make the individual buildings Historical so they do not change appearance as they level-up.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
Arnolf Hüttler 27 May, 2021 @ 4:53pm
Hey, do i need to suscribe to the 280 articles or just this one? i haven played Cities Skylines in a while and i dont rembember the distric style thing
m4gic  [author] 28 Apr, 2021 @ 7:50pm

m4gic  [author] 14 Apr, 2021 @ 6:31pm
How large is your city? Screenshots?
m4gic  [author] 14 Apr, 2021 @ 6:31pm
Lol! solution: All horses and buggies.
grimo2re 14 Apr, 2021 @ 6:02pm
It's a great collection! I love it, but the horse & wagons are holding up all my traffic :(
Dud_Dutcher 4 Mar, 2021 @ 8:39am
i will! thanks a lot!
m4gic  [author] 3 Mar, 2021 @ 4:29pm
So, that's why I create the Collections. I recommend subscribing to the Collection (linked above) instead of using the in-game "Subscribe to All" feature. 1. The in-game feature can be buggy and 2. I purposely did not include some items that go with some of the assets I chose, and this is because those items are out of place in this medieval theme. For example, things like rooftop solar or satellites I purposely did not include.
m4gic  [author] 3 Mar, 2021 @ 4:29pm
So, if you go to the Collection you can see each asset included and can click into each and see if there are any props or dependencies that I did not include but that you would like to use. As far as I am aware it is not a problem if an asset is missing some props - the asset will work but the props simply won't show up in-game. As for textures, I am not sure which ones are missing or if that would cause a problem. Would you be able to give me an example? Are you able to place any building that says it is missing textures? If so, does it look funny? Screenshots would be very helpful.
Dud_Dutcher 3 Mar, 2021 @ 7:19am
Before i forget, i onlt have the base game, i hope that wont prove to be a porblem
Dud_Dutcher 3 Mar, 2021 @ 7:17am
Greeitngs, i would like to ask something, i have subscribed to this lovely createon of yours(no really i loved it to bits) but the when i go to the content manager (after pressing the subscribe to all) some of the texures seem to be missing (it says so in red letters) i was hoping if you could tell me if this would be a problem and if so how to fix it
m4gic  [author] 12 Nov, 2020 @ 4:45pm
You did subscribe to the Collection that includes both styles, right? That contains not only the assets used in the Styles but also a lot of non-growable assets, roads and vehicles to complete the look of a Medieval village, town or city.
m4gic  [author] 12 Nov, 2020 @ 4:44pm
That's fine, it just means there is a duplicate - the assets will still grow.
Начуша 12 Nov, 2020 @ 11:52am
I subscribed this and Medieval Village and I'm getting this error on load. I don't have many mods, this is practically the only one together with the 25 tiles and Traffic Manager.

This works with both, but I have not yet reached the high density population (I never use mods) using this style. Most of the assets are low density, but there is high density residential and commercial as well.
princezuko2019 5 Nov, 2020 @ 5:11am
Does anyone know if this works with low density or high density?
