Does it effect AI as well? Would love to see an big empire fracture giving the fish a chance to feed.

can we instigate rebellions
TheCasualAspie 26 Feb, 2021 @ 10:51am
The mod's a bit broken for me, I'm getting rebellions on planets with no pops not supporting the country ethos

I'm with a couple of other people here, it should only be (at most) sector-wide. Also there should be ways to stop the riots and eventual uprising, right now its basically a game-ender for me cause the revolution has a military 3x stronger than mine, and half my space.

@Slovenec Yes, it's possible, but I dared to make it so. Because I would have been wanting to make an enemy that it's too difficult to defeat even though of the very late stage of the game. I have been feeling too much easy to overgo crises even if they are enlarged by x25.

Is it possible to make this mod so that the rebeling planet/habitat gets only the system they rebel in or a couple of sorrounding systems? Right now they just get half of your empire and sometimes your fleets too

@Juke™WearMaskOrPerish™ Now, it can't be avoided, but I have a plan to implement some ways to avoid.
> Also, it should factor in founder species
No, I don't think so. I think if the suggestion were merged, too much hard to play with xenophile ethic, and the other ethos would have far fewer rebellions (especially with xenophobe ethic).
Juke™ 12 Nov, 2020 @ 1:05pm
I think AIs should have rebellions, but I have a question: Once the first "Dissatisfaction for the government is increasing" fires, can the rebellion still be avoided? Also, it should factor in founder species (primitive slug planet no like commonwealth o' man)

I wouldn't think to modify the trigger to check the empire sprawl, because it is often less than or equal to empire admin cap on the mid-game, end-game or the beyond. I worry about if empire sprawl is checked, rebellions would never occur.

@Maritisa Yes, I think so. I'm working hard to improve this, and further updates would include your suggestion. Thank you for commenting!
Maritisa 11 Nov, 2020 @ 8:16pm
Shouldn't Stability& Pop Happiness be factored in here too? Like, the ethos dissatisfaction can trigger an event that reduces stability/boosts crime, but you can mitigate that by, say, declaring martial law and packing it with soldiers. (Maybe if Martial Law is active there's also a chance it'll radicalize the population away from your ethos too, especially if they're egalitarian and you're authoritarian)

Also, I wouldn't like that AI countries are troubled to manage themselves. The idea that AI countries do not have rebellions might be better. I don't conclude yet, so please feel free to feedback me.
frodo821  [author] 9 Nov, 2020 @ 3:08am
And rebellion countries do not have rebellion themselves while their independent wars are in progress. Otherwise, they are considered as a normal country.
frodo821  [author] 9 Nov, 2020 @ 3:03am
@erik.vale It means 30% of POPs who don't support any kind of ethos of the country.
For instance, as a militarist and spiritualist and egalitarian country, both militarist and spiritualist POPs are counted as POPs that support the country ethos, but materialist POPs are counted as POPs that DO NOT support the country ethos.
5ColouredWalker 8 Nov, 2020 @ 8:33pm
Also, is it 30% who are of a single ethos that isn't supportted, or 30% among any? Can rebellions have rebellions?
5ColouredWalker 8 Nov, 2020 @ 8:31pm
Doesn't this mean a 2 system empire could break in two with enough deviency? (Also makes things harder for Fanatic ethics, since they have less safe ethics.)
How well does the AI handle it? I'm all for having ways to limit my snowballing, but I'd rather not kick the AI in the teeth harder.

I'm trying to improve trigger conditions, and I have a plan to be able to suppress rebellion before they organize coup d'etat.
frodo821  [author] 8 Nov, 2020 @ 2:25pm
@Herr Wingel
No, it's not linked to admincap.

@Starlet
Rebellion event will be triggered in MTTH 2 years when the following conditions are met:
1. over 10 years passed in mid game
2. other rebellion is not in progress
3. on a planet, it is not a capital
4. and it's not in the same system as the capital planet
5. and 30% of the pops in the planet do not support country ethos
H̷e̵r̶r̵ ̶W̵i̶n̶g̶e̸l 8 Nov, 2020 @ 11:26am
Is it linked to admincap?
Cosmic Cat 8 Nov, 2020 @ 7:30am
Hi. Could you give more information please?

Like for example how big do you have to be for it to trigger and does it trigger based on if a certain ethic group is disappointed in your government? Do the rebels belong to the disfranchised ethic?
