Could you update your mod, please?

(I cant wait to the update)
Kmart 30 Oct, 2024 @ 6:00pm
From what I recall it's sort of functional, it works with countries that have not been changed/modified since it was last updated.

It's not *too* hard to get it to work yourself if you're able to get a beginner's understanding of EU4 modding since it's just editing text documents, as myself and I believe another person in the comments have done, but it can be a little funky at times. I've had to ask quite a few questions

Still working? :Intelligentsia:

Please update.
Diofernic  [author] 17 Jun, 2024 @ 5:59am
I just realized that the public version of the mod is a little different to my local one. You need to add your subject type with is_subject_of_type = your_subject_type instead of something like is_vassal. As for not seeing formables for PUs, that is disabled by default, so only vassals can be reformed. You can change it with the mod's config decision though
Kmart 16 Jun, 2024 @ 1:09pm
I may just be putting the name in improperly, but I'm trying to just copy and paste the subject type's name from my folder using N+, but at the same time I've tried making it so it counts as a Vassal and another attempt as a March (It normally counts as a PU) to no avail? Weirdly though if I use a vassalize command on the countries I have under my PU I am able to see all of their formables, which shouldn't make a difference if the game is registering it properly?
Diofernic  [author] 16 Jun, 2024 @ 5:49am
@kmart
I used a scripted trigger to check for subject types. Look for the is_fvn_subject trigger in fvn/common/scripted_triggers/VassalNation.txt. You can add new subject types there
Kmart 16 Jun, 2024 @ 2:44am
Does anybody know how to make it so this mod is able to register other subject types? I'm trying to add the subject type I made so that I can make formables from it but it doesn't seem to do anything
Kmart 13 Jun, 2024 @ 1:26am
I'd love to see this updated and am even willing to give it an attempt, but certain aspects of it too look a bit daunting so I doubt I'd be successful... if I'm able to find a way to just update what's here I'll post it while obviously giving credit to yourself, and if this mod is ever updated especially with the ideas you want to implement I'll just take it down!
traaaf 11 May, 2024 @ 3:03pm
I'd love to see an updated version if you ever get back into EU4 modding. I tried a few test cases, but even with the templates this one is too hard for me to get to work. love the mod.
Dog On A Frying Pan 22 Dec, 2023 @ 11:42pm
I appreciate that you kept Alsace for yourself as France
Diofernic  [author] 9 Nov, 2023 @ 4:11pm
You're free to publish it yourself as long as you credit me, that would probably make maintenance easier on your side. Just as a heads-up, I am also slowly working on an update myself, but that might still take a while before it comes out since I keep coming up with small ideas I wan't to try implementing :D
Diofernic  [author] 9 Nov, 2023 @ 3:22pm
@Pом Мій Нігге
There are templates for the decisions and events included with the mod files, they should make it relatively straightforward (at least I hope so) to add new decisions if you have some basic EU4 modding knowledge.
Also happy to hear you like DU as well :)
Diofernic  [author] 8 Nov, 2023 @ 4:02am
@Pом Мій Нігге
It technically works, but some of the decisions are fairly outdated and any new formable since 1.31 haven't been added yet
Insquidious 20 Aug, 2023 @ 1:41pm
@Diofernic Thanks for the reply, I might take a look at making an event that does what you mentioned. Assuming I can find the time, and get it to work, I'll let you know! Thanks for your help, great mod friend!! :steamthumbsup:
Diofernic  [author] 20 Aug, 2023 @ 8:11am
@mxduke313
It's not currently being worked on, so probably not any time soon, sorry
mcduke313 19 Aug, 2023 @ 3:34pm
assuming the question I'm asking is annoying.... Update when?
Diofernic  [author] 19 Aug, 2023 @ 8:20am
@Insquidious
Happy to hear that the templates were helpful!
The Siberian Frontier colonies seem pretty inflexible, but the easiest way I could think off to get them to work is to add a small hidden event that fires for the subject when you form them into Kitara. In the new event the subject will be the ROOT tag, so they'll be the owner of the colonies instead of the overlord
Insquidious 18 Aug, 2023 @ 7:13pm
Quick update, I've gotten to to work! Kinda, in a roundabout away. See, I can get it to create the colonies but it gives them to me, the overlord, which is fine for my purposes but I'd still like to know the solution/help devise one.
Insquidious 18 Aug, 2023 @ 7:01pm
Key @Diofernic , thank you for the mod!! It's very helpful. I have a quick question, I am trying to mod in the decision to form Kitara (the nation that requires owning all of the minors around the African great lakes). I have gotten the decision to work thanks to the handy templates included in the mod files. However, the vanilla decision instantly colonizes a bunch of unowned land with Siberian Frontier colony types. Do you know how I'd add this effect to my modified decision ingame? Thanks for your help in advance!! :D:

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I did as you said and the "has_vassal_formation_event_flag" was there. The command you gave me worked and my decisions showed up again for all of my subjects and I could even reform the Manchu further into the Qing. The only subject I made for the whole game was Jianzhao > Manchu so that's the only one it could be. I tried making other subjects like Qing and Scandinavia afterwards and still had access to the formable decisions.
Diofernic  [author] 31 Jul, 2023 @ 4:18am
@PotatoeChisps
There an option in the settings event that hides all the mods decisions, so make sure that isn't active.
If that's not it, it sounds like a flag is disabling the decisions. Could you open the console and type in "debug_mode" (without the quotation), that should show you which country flags you have when you hover the mouse over your own shield in the diplomacy tab. If you see "has_vassal_formation_event_flag" there, you can type "clr_country_flag has_vassal_formation_event_flag" in the console to remove it, which should fix the decisions. Also, if you see that flag I'd like to know which subjects you formed before the decisions disappeared so I can check whether this is a problem with the mod
PotatoeChisps 30 Jul, 2023 @ 7:19pm
Anyone know why my ability to make formables for subjects suddenly disappeared later on in the game? I'm currently doing a teutonic horde game in 1760 and made the Manchu subject. But my ability to make formables disappeared afterwards, not being able to form Yuan or the Golden Horde. I even lost the decisions with subjects I already had with Papal States > Italy and Gorkha > Nepal. I turned on all the settings like no loyalty, cede provinces, large empire nations, etc.

I loaded a new game as uzbek and was able to form both the golden horde and yuan so I don't know why it just disappeared. I'm playing with a few mods if that does anything, like more monuments and subjects give monument buffs.
cshaypatrick 22 Jul, 2023 @ 2:26am
Can you add the ability to form a custom vassal from any province?
Diofernic  [author] 7 Jun, 2023 @ 2:26am
@wolf_brother
I'm planning on updating it eventually, but that probably won't happen any time soon. So it's not completely dead, but it's also not being worked on at the moment
wolf_brother 6 Jun, 2023 @ 8:12pm
Is this dead or should we expect an update any time soon?
ErkkiKurkku [FIN] 14 May, 2023 @ 8:14am
Some of the Essential decisions for the Angevins don't show up with this mod. :bummer:
Diofernic  [author] 6 Jan, 2023 @ 12:23pm
@Scorch
It generally does work with client states, but the requirements for forming Jerusalem still apply, so you can only form them during the age of discovery or age of reformation
Scorch 6 Jan, 2023 @ 7:10am
Does this also work for client states also? For example, in 1700 I as Papal States manage to take the Holy Land, I can create a client state & then have them form KOJ tag etc ?
Mr.Grizzly 23 Dec, 2022 @ 6:04pm
@Diofernic

Thanks for the quick response and planned update, surprised no one else noticed this until now, I did some further testing and it even effects Norway and Sweden, guess people weren't playing Scandinavia with this mod haha
Diofernic  [author] 23 Dec, 2022 @ 1:01pm
@Mr.Grizzly
Will fix that with the next update, thanks for reporting. Until then, you could disable the mod, take the decision to form Scandinavia and then enable the mod again
Mr.Grizzly 22 Dec, 2022 @ 7:32pm
I have found an issue with the mod and the latest DLC

I unified Scandinavia as Denmark and did the mission to remove the tech 20 requirement to form Scandinavia however the mod blocks this change from actually going through, yes I did check this multiple times

Sorry to bother you with this, thanks for the mod, it's a must have for me, the mechanic should easily be in the game
Diofernic  [author] 24 Oct, 2022 @ 5:30am
@Eialidessé
It works fine for me. Can you explain what your issue is?
florist2795 24 Oct, 2022 @ 4:03am
Doesnt work in 1.34. Can you just update?
Diofernic  [author] 3 Apr, 2022 @ 1:35pm
@Just_Legeek
Thanks, great to hear that you like the mod!
Unfortunately, I won't be making any submods in the near future. I haven't even added the 1.32 formables to this mod yet and making a new submod would be more work than I have time/motivation for at the moment
Just_Legeek 2 Apr, 2022 @ 12:57pm
Hi ! I love your work ! It should be integrated in every Paradox game as it enable people to do nice RP/map painting moments ! Do you plan to do more ? Like an Imperium Universalis submod of it or anything ?
mcduke313 19 Jan, 2022 @ 11:01am
ah I didn't know it was new
Diofernic  [author] 19 Jan, 2022 @ 8:14am
@mcduke313
The mod hasn't been updated to 1.32 yet, so any nations added with that patch (i.e. Israel, Aksum, Zimbabwe, Kitara, Nubia, Somalia and Rozwi) won't work
mcduke313 18 Jan, 2022 @ 6:20pm
Aksum apparently does not work, I had Ethiopia as a vassal and owned the whole of Yemen
mcduke313 13 Jan, 2022 @ 8:16am
I mostly play with Byzantium Stronk. It has the bonus of letting me turn Wallachia into Romania once I form Rome
Diofernic  [author] 13 Jan, 2022 @ 8:06am
@mcduke313
The decision should work as long as you're playing with the vanilla map. Most mods that just add provinces without changing to much about the map should also work
mcduke313 13 Jan, 2022 @ 7:51am
So just if the option doesn't pop up, transfer the provinces to them,or check if another mod modified it. Cuz I play with a lot of mods
mcduke313 13 Jan, 2022 @ 7:50am
which is probably the amount they'd end with if you fed them the provinces they need. Nice
Diofernic  [author] 13 Jan, 2022 @ 5:59am
@mcduke313
Ok, I checked it and the decision for Arabia is working as intended. However, you need a subject with at least 15 provinces for it to show up
Diofernic  [author] 31 Dec, 2021 @ 6:44am
@mcduke313
That's odd, I definitely added it and it did work. I'll look into it at some point, probably when I update the mod to 1.32
mcduke313 30 Dec, 2021 @ 11:27am
It would appear Arabia is not modified by this mod.
Aaronnum I 27 Jul, 2021 @ 1:20am
I confirm that it does actually work without issues along with the Expanded Family
Diofernic  [author] 24 Jul, 2021 @ 4:49pm
@Aaronnum I
It should work with most mods that don't change subjects or the decisions for formable nations
