The main reason is that without your mods player ship's affected weapons are total ragtag. I dislike such system very much so your mod is my salvation and pure joy :)
There are no words that can describe how happy I am that I found your mods in the Workshop
It was worth it to release these scripts if there are others who actually like playing with them.
Can you describe the issue on your end?

Buy a lottery ticket Fight the boss again and count on your luck. All of those are unfortunately randomized.
This mod removes that limitation. Found a really good turret you want to use? Great. Make a few more copies and go have fun.
Easy Turret Factory Blueprints
It adds turret tiers to factories, depending on relations, up to even legendary.
To accommodate that many new options, instead of hauling crafting goods everywhere to build a turret, you can just buy a blueprint right away.
I hope you'll find it useful in your games.

Also lowered blueprint cost of special turrets to at least try to balance it.
I set the default cost very high, but you are right. With more and more expensive turrets, it might be time to change that.
I'm open to suggestions to better balance the cost.
The mod worked fine.
It seems that the turret I was trying to blueprint was incredibly expensive.

Now it is my daily routine to get a better turret from "The 4".
By the way, the turret blueprints are not reflecting the amount of money when I touch the mod file since ver 2.2.

Sorry for the late update, v1.2 should now work with the current version of the game (2.0.7).
Tested it on some older saves and it was fine, but please report if you see any problems anyway.
Future updates should be more on time.
Circumventing DLC requirements is not the intention of this mod.
Not all named turrets are from the DLC though and the vanilla turrets should work just fine.
Added script change for fighter factory to allow ancient turrets as fighter weapons.
Seems to work even with special turrets, like mining+salvage multiharvest turrets.
