@Eggon I'll check out if it's still works, thanks!
Eggon  [author] 5 Dec, 2022 @ 9:08am
@meneze.lage2 It's Sandbox+
Eggon  [author] 5 Dec, 2022 @ 9:01am
@meneze.lage2 Thanks mate. I think there is a mod that introduces (among many other functionalities) multihit depending on skill level. Unfortunatelly I don't remember the name, because I never used it, but someone mentioned it in comments to some of my mods. It might be tricky to find, as this is just one of many of its functionalities. Maybe ask a question in PZ Discussions, someone should know it, it was rather popular.
meneze.lage2 5 Dec, 2022 @ 5:00am
Heya, Eggon. Do you think it'd be possible to make a skill based multi-hit mod? Unlocking 2 hits on level 5, 3 hits on level 8, or something of the sort? Love your stuff, thanks!
Torkkar 3 Apr, 2022 @ 9:24am
got it old bug fixer mod lol
Eggon  [author] 3 Apr, 2022 @ 9:08am
@Torkkar Yes. This mod is simply old and a bit deprecated. In the past not all weapons were multihit even after enabling that option.
Torkkar 3 Apr, 2022 @ 6:58am
ah... guys you do know there's an option available to enable all melee weapons & strikes to hit all zombies in range right?
Chilled Sloth 30 Jan, 2022 @ 1:00pm
Weeell they'd still need to update the mod and might be busy... my hope is that they'll let someone else take over at least. And also that they're doing ok in their private life, ofc.

I didn't see any mod doing something like that - would be a great place to start, at the very least!
Eggon  [author] 30 Jan, 2022 @ 10:00am
@ICaRus If they didn't go silent, there would be no need to do this. ;) But it's not a problem, I can look into the code anyway. I also saw in the past a mod that did something similar, but don't remember what it was.
Chilled Sloth 30 Jan, 2022 @ 9:50am
Cool!
If only the sandbox+ modder hadn't gone silent, I'm sure they could help out a lot with this.
Eggon  [author] 30 Jan, 2022 @ 9:37am
@ICaRus Hmm, the first idea is pretty simple to do I think. The second probably not so much, but if someone has done it in the past then it apparently is possible. Thank's for the idea, I'll keep it in mind. I was thinking about a general weapon-tweaking mod.
Chilled Sloth 30 Jan, 2022 @ 8:57am
No multihit for pushing, spears and one-handed weapons (maybe except the machete?) would be amazing! Even better if the "alternative combat" section of the defunct sandbox+ could be incorporated, giving a chance to multihit based on skill, strength and condition.

Eggon's All Doors Are Yours published!
Guys, my new mod Eggon's All Doors Are Yours has just been published! It allows to take doors off hinges and reinstall them elsewhere!
Eggon  [author] 23 Jan, 2022 @ 4:56am
@YingSuHuaKai Well, kind of. They increased the maxHitCount from 1 to 3 for all these weapons. EMLW sets maxHitCount for golf club and crowbar to 2, so it still does a bit of balancing.
YingSuHuaKai 23 Jan, 2022 @ 1:43am
Has this module been added to the game itself now?:steamhappy:

Lomion 4 Jan, 2022 @ 11:46am
@Eggon Yeah. There's like 45 lines there. And even i can swap getMaxHitCount for getMaxRange and make a more balanced multi hit chance. But i don't know any functions so no idea what to use as a substitute for onAttack. xD So, i guess i'll wait for your mod ideas queue to free up. ^_^
Eggon  [author] 4 Jan, 2022 @ 11:34am
@Lomion There isn't much code there, so it should not impede performance significantly, although it certainly doesn't help and there's no need to do this on every attack. A bit weird, because the author has done lots of mods, so he should know better. But maybe this was his first mod, it never got popular, so he left it like this.
Lomion 4 Jan, 2022 @ 11:22am
@Eggon But isn't checking every attack would be something of a resource draining and messing up multiplayer even more, then it is now? And that mod does not seem to affect hulk with 3 str dropping 3 zombies at once. xD
I have no idea how to read code, just have a vague sense what it might do. xD
Lomion 4 Jan, 2022 @ 11:18am
@Eggon Yeah. Wepon balancing is wicked here. Fire Axe and Baseball Bat have 2 multihit, while all hammers have 1 multi hit but freaking fork has 2 multi hit. It is hilarious.
I was chatting about multi hit with my friends. We had it enabled for some time but disabled it. Cuz i really thought that pushing over 3 zombies at a time is too improbable and anihilating hordes with a crowbar as fast as shotgun is too OP. But i was wondering if there was a mod to disable multihit for pushing and one-handed weapons. And your mod was first in search for "multi'.
Eggon  [author] 4 Jan, 2022 @ 11:16am
I'll add your proposal to my shelf of ideas. I like it, I think it could be done, but the problem is I have many other ides on the shelf already. :)
Eggon  [author] 4 Jan, 2022 @ 11:15am
@Lomion Does this mod check every attack? That is not how you should implement such functionality.
Eggon  [author] 4 Jan, 2022 @ 11:13am
@Lomion Hmm, indeed, they did change the weapons. I wasn't aware of it. I wouldn't say the mod is deprecated though (except for the description), because triple-hit on crowbar/golf club seems excessive to me for a change. lol They don't seem to know how to balance items. And the game is still not consistent - baseball bat has double-hit.
Yes, there's a better way to do it.
So if you knew that these weapons are properly multihit now, how did you visit this mod?
Lomion 4 Jan, 2022 @ 11:10am
This mod can do the trick with any weapon. But i really have no idea if it will work and checking for max hit every attack is kinda overkill. xD
Lomion 4 Jan, 2022 @ 11:02am
@Eggon It's quite easy to change multihit for a weapon. I could even do it myself with no lua knowledge. But that would just be copying your mod and expanding it for every single handed weapon. I bet there is a more elegant solution to force multi hit disabled for one handed even for modded weapons. But that is beyond my total lack of coding skills. xD
Lomion 4 Jan, 2022 @ 10:59am
@Eggon I'm looking at item_weapons.txt file of the game. Your mod seems deprecated. Crowbar, Katana and Golf Club now all have MaxHitCount = 3. So this mod makes them worse. =P
Eggon  [author] 4 Jan, 2022 @ 10:54am
@Lomion What do you mean by "revive"? It is functioning, isn't it?
That is an interesting idea. Likely doable too.
Lomion 4 Jan, 2022 @ 10:29am
Oh. If you're ever to revive this mod it would be awesome if single handed weapons have no multi hit at all, while twohanded have the multi hit.
Dûkë 31 Dec, 2021 @ 8:03am
Ah, I see. I did not realize it affected only 3 weapons. I am fairly new to the game.
Eggon  [author] 31 Dec, 2021 @ 4:14am
@Dûkë That is an interesting idea, but I'm afraid seriously out of scope of this mod. :) I mean this mod is about making 3 wepons in par with all the others, while your idea means changing behavior of all multihit weapons.
Dûkë 30 Dec, 2021 @ 12:07pm
It would be awesome if this was tied to strength. I mean, base strength could only hit max 2, while max strength could cleave like a boss.
Eggon  [author] 20 Dec, 2021 @ 1:20pm
@Apxthy Thanks mate! Happy to hear that! :) Please upvote any that you like, there's never too many upvotes! ;)

Guys, I published a new mod: Have I Found This Book??? , which automatically registers all books that you pick up and displays tooltip info if a book has or has not been yet found. If anyone had this book problem - have a look at it. :)
Eggon  [author] 11 Oct, 2021 @ 2:03am
Guys, I released recently new mod that enables modification of holsters’ weight reduction . If anyone is interested, here's Holsters Tweaker . Shortly I will add a support to tweaking belts as well.
Also my Hotkeys mod got an important update - a customizable shortcut for Smoking has been added!
mojucy 17 Mar, 2021 @ 11:48pm
@orb and if the base game allows you to tick it on, is it not in the base game? I think it's kinda corny your weak character at start has the strength to swing an axe, collide with solid bone, cut through that head, and keep enough momentum to do the same to 3 or more other skulls. Its not achievable in real life unless you're a legit monster of a man. I think multihit should be implemented like sandbox+ does it in vanilla. I also wish multihit worked for long blades better if you chose to use it so this is a good mod as well
mojucy 17 Mar, 2021 @ 11:44pm
@latbat if you think it's too easy to multihit but want a mod that adds a progressive multihit feature built in that allows you to be able to multihit more likely the higher your strength and fitness is, download sandbox+. There is a feature called advanced or enhanced combat. Its in the settings tab once you download the mod, and can also do many other cool things.
sergal saturn (they/them) 3 Feb, 2021 @ 3:02am
@latbat58 wrong, multihit is legit and base game is dumb for not having it
latbat58 16 Jan, 2021 @ 7:59am
thanks for the mod.
also am i a casual noob for playing with multihit enabled.
