I also slightly reduced the maximum gain for walking with a heavy load to balance this (from 50% to 35%). That does not affect combat but may slightly affect martial arts gains in between fights.
What I said above apparently also applies when a character uses the same logic, but using a lighter weapon, for instance, katanas. But hey, I like that this mod not only works with heavy weapons, because even if a character uses light gear and light weapons, having strenght is mandatory in Kenshi, so I like that I can train everyone with this mod
To test whether it works or not you will need to run some combat simulations. Not just looking at the character sheet. If, after running some simulations with and without the mod you still don't see a difference then I will reinstall the game and take a closer look.
@Minion MA has it's own strength gain system and this mod does not affect that. Check the wiki for more info on how MA strength gain works.
