If you are careful, the tanks last a very long time and are easy enough to refill once you put the drill on a piston, which I'd highly recommend. I had none of the air-leak issues other people have mentioned, was tight from the get-go.
Very happy with this ship. Was simple to build, easily modified to suit specific needs, has excellent lift capabilities (with every container filled + a miner docked inside and another one on a roof mounted connector I added, it still lifted easily enough at 1.00 gravity). Would absolutely recommend this ship to those who are looking for something that can do a bit of everything (I'd stay well away from combat with that many hydro tanks on display though).
Is it not meant to be or did we just miss a block?
It is all built and ive put ice into the storage compartments and its been pulled to the o2/h2 generators but my hydrogen tanks arent refilling. ive turned off all thrusters and set all tanks to auto refill but nothing is happening?
What am i doing wrong D:
I think they are still nice to have though, you can push stuff into them with a tugboat, or just fly next to the welder with a damaged ship. Large grid welders and grinders have a fairly large radius after all, much less annoying to repair stuff with them than with you hand welder.
Also yes, the one from the piston gun is I think the fifth iteration of this in the last screenshot.
whoops!
sweet ship though, thanks! :)
Thanks for responding, it is always nice to discuss these things with more experienced workshop creators. :)
What is your opinion on large, small grid ships?
I find them to be time consuming to design, but I think their larger opportunity for detail makes up for it. (Transparent LCDs for actual HUDs, vents that aren't the size of a small house, single buttons)
This looks like a fitting tribute to the Mercury Star Runner, but with a Major Jon flavor.
(also make new planets, you make one of the best)
and you main drill is good for ice and gravel since you got only basic reff's on the ship
