We have a mouth-breathing Redditor here. How you doing RapKaV? Does your shit smell nice seeing as how your head so far up your ass?
austria-HRE 9 Nov, 2024 @ 7:25am
rapka what are you talking about, slavery was the basis of the ancient roman economy, in fact it was for various ancient economies. Division of labor and specialization really wasn't as prevalent then as it is now and became in the middle ages

Every mod who stands behind "because it was in history" is shit. Using history as an excuse to please yourself with this mod.

Fun idea for a mod but way overtuned. The increased research rate from libraries goes up to 300% which is just ridiculous imo.

Yes, what yo say is true, slave allowed the ancient thinkers the time to actually sit around and think instead of spending thier lives in toil just to survive. Eventually, however, Slavery became a hindrence to healthy economies. It is incredibly easy to completely wreck your entire economy with the wide use of slavery, as happened in the Early Roman Republic, after the first and second Punic wars, there was a truly massive influx of slaves brought from recent conquests, and these slaves forced the plebs in from the country and into the cities where they existed largely on grain and corn wellfare provided by the government (a holdover from Gracchus' reforms) without meaningful work, renting, not owning.

Apologies if I read over the answer I seek but, does this manpower boost from slaves only affect roman subfactions? Or all factions, minor and major? Or just say, Rome's factions and Hellenic factions, etc.?

@HerGIS A new patch has been released and I do not know at the moment what the impact is. As soon as abel1717 is back he will have to take a look at it, he is the developer and if anyone can resolve this..... Thanks for the feedback:)
HerrGIS 3 Apr, 2014 @ 10:39pm
@mfo59, I loaded your mod on Apr 4 and it dosen't appear that Culture details for my province reflect the Romanization bonus that you say are attached to the forums. For example, I have a Fountains, Archives and a Gladiator school in my capital, with building cultural influences of +4, +3, +3 (=total of +10 cultural influence) according to the card details. When I look at Cultural details +Buildings, only a value of 4 is appearing (equal to my Fountains). Happiness seems to be boosted for the Gadiator school, but it has 0 cultural influence effect (same for the library). My cultural influence only shows my house Julia bonus of +4, my tech bonus of +2 for my research and +4 for my Fountains. There was of course another patch just released, so perhaps this creatred a glitch? I was playing with a previously saved game and ran it a few turns, but there were no forum building cultural bonuses after 5 turns.

@ IDGAF It should be :)

Save game compatible?
abel1717  [author] 27 Mar, 2014 @ 7:46pm
hi everyone, i was out of town but now i'm back and i see the world hasn't ended lol.
mfo59  [author] 21 Mar, 2014 @ 6:45am
@jdlikins It is the purpose but you have to build it up slowly. I have my slave population being responsible for a little over 50% income generation. It all is a matter of balancing your economy and getting the most out of your slaves without too many revolts. In each province my slaves are responsible for -30 (province score) so you have to make that up somewhere else in your province. It really is a balancing act but that is part of what makes this mod so much fun...I really hope you get this sorted out and please let me know if can help :)
jdlikins 20 Mar, 2014 @ 12:31am
In most cases I do have the slave trader in the capital. I have mostly your mods - some camera mods - no other major campaign overhaul. I thought the whole purpose of this mod was to use the slaves. Have had risings there too. My public order plummets from one turn to the next. It could be me. Game starts ok and then say 25 turns in, goes south.
mfo59  [author] 19 Mar, 2014 @ 8:44am
@jdlikins Do you have a slave trader building in your province capitals? Any other mods running? Also, until you have your buildings in place you need to take it easy with the capture of slaves.....

@eferos93 I do not think so but we still need to test that. If you have tested it can you please share the results with us? thanks
eferos93 19 Mar, 2014 @ 4:36am
Is it compatible with DeI?
jdlikins 18 Mar, 2014 @ 12:30am
Started a new game and I must still be doing something wrong as I have slave revolts about every turn about 10 years into the game. I have stopped enslaving captured soldiers but that has not slowed down the results.
abel1717  [author] 16 Mar, 2014 @ 10:23am
idk.
toilet user 16 Mar, 2014 @ 10:09am
Is this compatible with beta 10? Or should I roll back?
abel1717  [author] 12 Mar, 2014 @ 11:02am
@mfo59 and all subscribers that are helping out in tech support to new subscribers. I really thank you and very grateful, without you guys freeing some of my time in terms of answering to new subscribers I wouldn't be able to dedicate time to modding. thank you all.
jdlikins 11 Mar, 2014 @ 11:31pm
@mfo59 - thanks I will do some reorganizing - I have some really good armies at this point but cant expand with 3 or 4 revolts every year.
mfo59  [author] 10 Mar, 2014 @ 6:40am
I have a slave trade building in every province together with another compensating building (yellow ones). Also make sure that you have some agriculutral buildings and not more then one temple per province. Everything else is common sense based on the stats of that province.
Do not forget that your settlements together make up your province and as such are counted together. I hope this helps......
