2 block rotor that base take bottom free block space and rotating part that take upper free block space.
I am searching for 2 block tall hinge that have rotating axis in middle of that 2 blocks.
1 block for base and 1 block for rotating part. As i know Merge block work only IF you have grids aligned as one (with non overlapping blocks). Vanilla hinge use 2 blocks(models) in 1 block space and that is why Merge block not work as hinge will explode.
Merge block works with pistons as you push that slim piston head block far away and in merge action the piston head is in free block space.
Only way i can play SE is with merge block logic as they merge moving parts as single grid and no de-sync happen with moving parts == Less CPU time == Less bugs == Less KlanG
For using merge block hinge base (non moving part) must take only one cube space and moving part also one cube space. 1 cube + 1 cube = 2 cube space. Vanilla hinge not work with merge block as the base + rotating part is in same block space.
Well i am searching for something that can be used with merge block.
Merge block require to have all blocks in grid/line to safely merge/unmerge.
2 block hinge can do this as Static part is block while Moving part is also a block.
Both blocks require own block space = 2 block hinge = 2 block space.
I not care about design of 3D model. It can be just 2 boxes that bend at corner.
Basically two boxes that bend by corner.
You might find this interesting, for making larger versions of your shield hinged arrays. Turning 5 of your hinges into a single entity with merge blocks.
A simple suggestion though, you could default their velocity to -1, so that when they are first built, they will automatically be trying to open, and then all you have to do is click reverse direction to change that.
It’s a dated design and i can’t tell you if the scripts still work, but it still is a solid base. :)
Great Mod btw!
