Adding a similar “fix” to the one in that mod to my mod has been on my to do list, however I’ve personally never noticed he desync between the attack registering and the arm swinging to be so bad, but I may very well add a similar edit to my mod in the future.
As for "fixing" other SI animations, none of them are broken on an animation level again, most of the issues like lack of flinches are issues arising from L4D2 no longer using body locational flinches on SI.
CI and the Tank climbing into the air are not animation issues, it's more like a map issue, likely they're climbing onto an invisible clip, or the game is having issues calculating where they're meant to be climbing and grabbing too, a lot of what you perceive to be animation issues are not and as such cannot be fixed by editing/changing the animations.
Smoker
Hunter
Witch
Tank
Boomer
and common infected
fr common infected i've seen them climb onto air like legit air and oh my god was that a bug
and just like asking questions on stuff i like.
Questions:
does this also include rag doll self collusion fixes to the chargers corpse?
so no clipping issues on the charger fully
is this compatible with smoothed charger that's made by MrFunreal?
I know you fixed the chargers animations but can you fix the feet from sliding across the floor when walking, crouching, running forward, charging running forward and walking side or diagonal?
like when one foot rests on the floor it doesn't stay in one place and it tends to slide forward while the other foot is picked up
you know how you walk right in real life?
may not be possible to fix due to source engine, some engines aren't great at this but i hope you know what i'm talking about here.
I can just imagine you in the view model viewer and your in the animation part of the problem and you dragging the survivor into place in correct position in the chargers hand fixing the issue or programming it to fix it or something, same for the other problem
or if it is possible you could just remake the animations but idk if your up for doing that much work.
but can you at least try to fix them?
not sure why this wasn't fixed in the update but there isn't any mods or plugins that fixes this and your the only one who edited the chargers animations
don't ask me to do it because i know "Nothing" about modding against l4d2
As for those two instances you mentioned of potential areas still requiring fixing, the first one, sounds like a game engine problem, I don't *think* it is occurring on any animation level.
As for the second one the charger only has a single charging/carrying survivor animation, which is used across all the survivors, unlike the pounds, which he has 3 of, one for Coach, one for Rochelle, and one for Ellis and Nick, even if I was to add modified carrying animations for Coach and Rochelle there's no way the game could ever use them, unless someone created a sourcemod plugin to call them.
- when the charger grabs the survivor and the charger gets knocked into a wall the survivor appears behind the charger for a split second out of the chargers hand
- sometimes the survivor can be a bit offset when the charger grabs the survivor when charging the survivor
same for the other special infected
I just had to restart my game and that fixed it!
It stays completley still
