So I ended up building this one by hand at first and for some reason the middle wheels on both sides refuse to generate, either through constructing or through the menu. I even tried removing the Hydrogen tanks on the right side and destroying/making a new one to no luck. I currently have the vehicle elevated too, so the ground shouldn't have been an issue.

i think the gyro for flipping has the wrong axis overrode to flip it when i used it pitch needed to be overrode for it to flip, when setting it up roll, pitch, and yaw are in the gyro orientation not the ships cockpit from what i have seen

Hello Spite, I've made a variation of this miner into a construction rover, (aswell as some other vehicles/trailers). Can these be added to your ISL shipyard. I can DM you further if I have to upload them etc.

neverming, just saw theyre dlc stuff
Lord Dudelsack 27 Jan, 2022 @ 8:54am
cant build the wheels om this :(

I've been trying to get to grips with this. If you wanted to drill a reasonably gentle slope down to some ore, would you use rclick drilling, or lclick drilling? either way, is there a set angle you keep your drills at to maintain the gentle slope??

Love this design, but I'm having some build issues with it. When being constructed at base a few parts refuse to build (2 of the 4 hydro tanks, or the rear lights for example. Can't build them by hand or automatically from the projection for some reason. Any idea why this may be?

This is an amazing design. The drills on hinges help to create a bigger tunnel! :) Its pretty hard to use in the beginning, but after a while it will get more easy. I yet have to figure out why the mouse controls for the hinges/drills are not working for me but i was already tired when testing it and probably just forgot something :)

And as always: we need more Rover designs ;P ;)

probably the niftiest little rover ive printed out yet... even printed it out in a super small underground moon base... WARNING do no go airborne... coming down too hard on the front will destroy the cockpit and make the whole front axle fall off... is was interesting getting it back to base lol... @spite i wish someone would create decent cheap large grid ships everyones obsessed with these model capital ships it seems

Hi Raggje,

There are two ways to control the drills angle:
1. If you're not using scripts, use buttons 2 & 6 on toolbar 4

2. With the MART script - I assume this is the one you're struggling with?

If so, here are some things to check:
• Did you turn on the programmable block? By default they are all switched off.
• Do you have scripts enabled in the world you're playing?
• Are the drill hinges locked? (check Toolbar 4, button 2)
• After placing the drills, did you add them to the group "Mrt2-R MART"? As the script needs to be able to find them
• Make sure you are driving the vehicle via the remote control block.

I cannot get the drills to go up and down. I created from a projector. I watched the video's and added the drills to the hinges as shown. I have added and removed a couple times. Any thoughts to what the issue could be?
Spite  [author] 9 Feb, 2021 @ 10:27pm
@murdicus, I just tested it, and all the connections work fine for me, are you using any mods?

In particular, any that change the small hydrogen tanks, as the scaffolding for the small H2 tanks in your screenshot looks different.
murdicus 9 Feb, 2021 @ 9:55am
@spite, @Brianette

container will not get any ores in them from the drills.

loaded blueprint in creative mode and only the cockpit, drills and the bottom connector will fill

rear connector is connected to the 3 container and the ejectors. the bottom connector, 02 generator and cockpit are not connected to the rear at all.

have a look at the screenshot.

02 genny and the bottom connector does not connect to the middle container

@Brianetta:

Thanks, you beat me to it again ;)

@murdicus:

The drills should be placed onto the hinges, like Brianetta said, which are conveyored to the connectors and medium cargo containers.

So if the drills are not emptying into the containers as they should, then one of the conveyors may not be fully welded up?
Brianetta 8 Feb, 2021 @ 2:07pm
Hi murdicus. The drills must be conected to the two hinges at the front. Watch the first video on this page, where I place the two drills before allowing the printer to finish welding them up.
murdicus 8 Feb, 2021 @ 12:50pm
Are the drills supposed to be connected to the medium cargo containers, cause while building in survival mode the drills just connect to the connector on the bottom if the vehicle????
eaglegundam 22 Jan, 2021 @ 5:15am
hmm ok never mind then
if its beacuse of the gyros
Spite  [author] 22 Jan, 2021 @ 4:49am
Alternatively, you could just add the cockpit to the MART group and it would have the same effect, without needing to change scripts.

I set it up like that deliberately though, so that the remote controls the hinges through the script, but not the gyroscope, while the cockpit has gyro control but won't affect the script.

This was to prevent extra movement from the gyro while trying to control the drill hinges.
eaglegundam 22 Jan, 2021 @ 1:37am
Well you can just cut out the remote for the MART script and just use the cockpit
i have done that in my survival world and works like a charm. no switching between remote and stuff
Spite  [author] 21 Jan, 2021 @ 10:59pm
I am aware of and am already subbed to that script as well. So sure, if you can convince me that it would actually be a big improvement on the MART script?
eaglegundam 21 Jan, 2021 @ 5:05pm
Umm Please change the script
This one works a lot better and doent require alot of editing

Hi there ZV7EKET, I’m glad you think it’s cool, but I’ going to have to disagree with you about the instability of this vehicle.

To be fair, the MK1 was a bit unstable, but this one is very much improved and I have been using it for mining in my survival world with no trouble.

If you are having a specific problem with this vehicle in particular, however, please let me know
ZV7EKET 16 Jan, 2021 @ 11:33am
That's cool! But not really effective, due to the instability of rover-miners:(
Spite  [author] 12 Jan, 2021 @ 2:19am
Oh? I didn’t know there was an update to FSD, I’ll have to check that out, thanks!
frogit04 12 Jan, 2021 @ 1:05am
Looks great Spite!!! And just saw that there was a V2 of FSD updated on the 7th!
Spite  [author] 11 Jan, 2021 @ 8:17pm
It would be cool, but the issue for me is that my conscience would have a hard time labeling it "printer friendly" with all the sub-grids the tracks would take
Austin_Legend 11 Jan, 2021 @ 8:13pm
A track version would be really cool but I feel it would be very difficult to make
Spite  [author] 11 Jan, 2021 @ 7:14pm
@Brianetta, challenge accepted, what kind of build would be more Pertam than this?

@ Austin_Legend Not yet, but it’s coming soon, I think there is one more design and then the welder/grinder vehicles
Austin_Legend 11 Jan, 2021 @ 2:47pm
Is there a salvager version of this?
Brianetta 11 Jan, 2021 @ 2:03pm
The Mk1 was previously the most Pertam thing in the ISL fleet. Now it has been unseated.
