Recomendation: could you make a tech "SF Troops" that unlocks SF troops like the sas, the rangers, the navy seals, etc.? Love the mod and the attack on titan too, still alittle disapointed with the leaders available though, I stumbled on the attack on titan mod while looking for a mod that added eren. Hey Kramer awesome mod! Question? is there anyway to add the 'sneak promotion" (im guessing the name) similar to that found on the privateer - so that enemey nations cant recognize their country of origin? There was a mod similar in Civ4. They were very expensive, a bit weaker, and you could only build a limited number, but they allowed me to engage enemies without declaring war, which added a more strategic layer. I know nothing about adding mods and wasnt sure if something similar is pissible in Civ5

Technically yes, it won't break your game or anything, but there won't be civilization-unique models, if that's what you're asking. And idk if the unit will be properly resized.

Nah, I'm pretty content with the current model. Adding some variants would be interesting, but too much work (and potential conflict with any other mods that use those models) to be worth doing.

It doesn't receive defensive bonuses from terrain, which also means no defensive bonuses from fortification. It's a feature of the game, as you'll find that Siege and Mounted units also can't Fortify.

Was looking for just this, great work and model! I do think you should move it to Mobile Tactics though, as that only gives one thing, while Telecommunication already gives 4. Your in game text describes them as being highly mobile anyway :)

Looks interesting, can't wait to see what the skin will look like. As SEALs or Special Forces are meant to move into enemy territory in order to conduct raids and reconnaisance, it would be create a more dynamic use a the unit. A couple of points that would make the SEAL very useful, allowing the unit to cross other nations' borders during peace time and allow them to hide in forests and jungles. To counter these strengths, do not give the unit defensive bonuses but do allow them to see Enemy Seals/SF.

Yep, I've got an update in the works that, as well as adding custom models, repurposes the SEAL Team into a more generic "Special Forces" unit (though the unit's functionality is unchanged), complete with custom, unique names of existing (and a few fictional easter egg) SF units from around the world! It'll probably be ready within the week, given that I've got a gorillion other mods I'm working on.

I remember back in civ IV when marines were useful. In civ V it isn't really worth building them after the atomic era and even before that they aren't really necessary. Thanks to this mod though, marines are actually worth building!

I have a much better idea for an upgrade for the Marine. Rather than a SEAL Team, which is pretty much an Americentric name (should just be a special unit for the Americans) and exactly fit in with Civilization's progression (the Paratrooper - X-COM Squad line really are the special forces), why not just call them "Mechanized Marines" and have the graphics of an AAV-7A1? I could do a CiV-style icon for you if you wanted (links below).

?marines are a conventional expeditionary force seals are unconventional. And kevin there are many other seal teams as well, but why not just call it spec ops?

The AI should build them and upgrade marines into them. I haven't fully tested it, but it seems to work just fine. And I dunno which mod I have that adds that promotion to EVERY unit. The promotion is called something like TXT_KEY_PROMOTION_CREATED, it doesn't do anything, and it's a pain in my butt while taking screenshots.

two questions:
1: do the AI build them/ upgrade marines to them
2: why does the barbarian infantry in the secondscreenshot appear to have the heal every turn promotion, since barbarians don't gain xp. is that a mod or is that a glitch or what. just wondering

Marines =/= Elite Special Forces.
