Thanks for the update. Great mod my dude

Update. Added compatibility with chicken and venison. Chicken is treated similar to rabbit and also have a cornmeal fried version and can be used as alternative ingredient for sandwiches and wraps. Venison is just added as alternative ingredient for the better sandwich due to similar nutrition (lazy to create separate icon/item just for it)

Just to add. The multiplier is wrt the nutrition. Which can be different for different food simply due to portion size. The multiplier governs the quality. Some food stuff may seem to have high increase simply because the portion size may be larger. Doesn’t necessarily mean it gives more constitution on average

Thanks for feedback. Have not got chance to test them in game yet . But I’ll consider lowering cornbread snd possibly other baked stuff . Made the simplistic assumption that baked stuff should be between cooked vege and cooked meat.

I went into debug and checked the modded foods out, as well as went to a fire to see the recipes compared to the constitutions and nutrition amount.

I would say the carrot and pumpkin cornbread is a little high for constitution, but besides that everything seems to be fairly balanced. I don't think anything needs to be changed as is.

I've taken a quick look and it seems like it is just a new skill on use.
I've looked at the default values of food and have worked out a simple system that scales off nutrition level of the food depending on what kind of food. e.g.

raw vege ~ 5x
cooked vege ~ 12x
cooked meat ~ 16x

for baked food, I used 10-16x
for composite food (tortilla roll and sandwich), I use 16-20x

I've updated all the applicable food items in this mod with the computed values for constitution but prob have no time for thorough testing yet to see if these mutlipliers are ok (it should get expected values comparable to vanilla food items though)

Please see if they are ok. I will revisit the values again only if there are feedback or I have time to test the game more.

Bob added constitution in the new update, it basically is "eat better food, get more health". It gives you a safety net of extra bleedout time when you die, so that your community members can come and rescue you. If you have no community members, the screen fades to black and you teleport in a nearby settlement, and you lose a level in constitution. You lose constitution over time, so eating food with no changes actually just lowers it. Like modded food.

Also I hope you get better. :JoeWheelerApproves:

Changes? If you can give as much info as possible, it may shorten my time when I can investigate it. Unlikely to be this week though (recovering from a ‘certain strain’ atm)

I cannot live without corn. With that being said, the new nutrition update kind of puts a stop to my usage of cornmeal buns. Will you update the mod to introduce the new nutrition system?

Thank you. Praise the corn gods.:JoeWheelerApproves:

The icons looked similar, but they are cloned from the existing image templatesto maintain style and should not affect the original resources. (iow, totally different files, even if they look alike)

In other words, probably not this mod. Thanks for the concern though :)

Hello my game crashes every time i try to make saltpeter and informed Bob. he responded that
"Bob the P.R. Bot [developer] 11 hours ago
Ah sorry, that will be fixed in v135. (It's happening because one of those mods has a urine icon missing " i tough maybe this mod was the one missing the missing icon since your using the saltpeter icon for the cormeal... thought id let you know, maybe check if this mod or other cooking mods is the culprit. Thanks!

May I translate this mod?
Penguin 1 Mar, 2021 @ 8:52pm
Honestly, a very fun mod. Adds a lot more use to corn besides boiling it. It also give more choices for beets, pumpkins, and rabbits. Haven't experienced any bugs whatsoever either.
If I were to make a suggestion, Cornmeal Chips. Not filling, but good morale.

@Angrysquirrel
There is the bun version and the pumpkin cornbread version, both are made at the cooking pot.
I may be misunderstanding though as you are mentioning Cornmeal. You will need available container to make liquids from inventory/ground.
Angrysquirrel 10 Feb, 2021 @ 2:29pm
Does your mod have cornbread? I made the cornmeal on the ground. I have a pot, 350 oz of cornmeal in a bucket and a bucket of water. Water shows up. Cornmeal is greyed out even though I have it. Guy says he's missing ingredients. I have cooking 5. Any ideas?

@y-man
That actually coincides with a food category I had in mind for a while: junk food. i.e. food which has little to no multiplier to the ingredient nutrition (or even reduces nutrition), is storage-inefficient, BUT is relatively tasty and easy to make. In short, it is a sort of morale band-aid, that trades off efficiencies (nutrition and storage) for easy-to-achieve tasty food to quickly raise morale (or just to prevent it from dropping further)

This particular mod, though, should contain only Cornmeal related items to keep things modular (give the interested player a choice to leave out a mod which is not related/required), Thus, Popcorn, which does not use Cornmeal, may be more suitable as a separate mod instead. I may do just that when I find a good time. Thanks for the idea!

Wraps? I think you meant to say: "Food of the Gods!" Can't wait to see all that tidy-fingers goodness. ;-) I really need to get into the food modding business. I love food in this game.
sf  [author] 1 Feb, 2021 @ 5:48am
I think (Cornmeal) Tortilla is a good idea, since Bun/Bread requires Beet. (actually, a by-product of making beet sugar that can be used in-place of baking powder). Using Cornmeal (alone) to make Tortilla can create alternate recipes that does not require Beet. It can then be used to make Wraps (Tortilla versions of Sandwiches), which can be slightly less nutritious (less the amount from Beet) but also easier to carry more (less bulk/weight).

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see when I work it into the mod :)

I love this. Any thoughts about tortilla & recipes? Would fit nicely.
