Read the comments below....... I did find that if you open a wall of the correct dimensions for an exterior door, and install one of those plain flat doorless frames on the INSIDE layer of wall, you can get it to work on some house. Remember that exterior walls are double thick as interior walls. I am still trying to recover from a bad hard drive that wiped out my system. GET AWAY FROM PATA/SATA hard drives if you can! They can fail when you least expect it, and disaster will strike! MOVE TO SSD's, faster with no moving parts to fail on you from excessive wear...

Not useless per se. Perhaps you can modify them to fit with the 2x2 door frames, as long as the frames are situated inside?

The new door mechanics that install with PETS DLC have made all my exterior doors nearly useless...

Hm. I just used the mod in House in a Thicket. When I originally placed them, they left a gap but even though it was a little fiddly I could move them inwards one more increment, so they sit generally flush with the wall. Now there is only a tiny gap visible only on the inside, left of my dot pointer in the picture here: https://i.imgur.com/ebWPte9.jpeg

From a couple steps away one doesn't even notice it. They look superb, I am using 2 on each side of a centre sliding door (and yes, Cougarmint is right, the new door mechanics are part of the base game, you don't need the Pets DLC).Thanks for these!

I think the new mechanics were added to the base game, if I recall, so you don't technically need to download the pets dlc to change the doors. At least, that's what I read on the forums.

I'll have to download the new Pet Flipper and look into this deeper..........

Cougarmint - Thank You for bringing this to my attention. I'll look into it and see what can be done..

The new mechanics won't allow me to place this bay window or the others in your collection in the 2x2 wide spaces without adding a door frame first anymore (I install it so that the doorframe is on the inner wall instead of the outer one.) Sometimes they are compatable with the frame, but at other times they conflict and it leaves a small but noticable gap between the wall and the bay window. Do you have plans to update the models to make them compatable with door frames? I can send you a screen shot to show you what I mean.

I love yet hate the new exterior door mechanic for this reason. I really enjoy the bay window mods as they were and still are my favorite mods to use and it's a shame the mechanics have changed to be a bit more cumbersome.

It can only sit EXACTLY as you see it. Check to make sure no other object is too close like a light switch or wall light

i tried placing the bay window outside but it doesnt allow me to break the inside wall, how can i fix this? what do i need to make this mod work? do i need the gardden dlc?

texas - Ok, I see what you mean. I put some paving stones outside where it sits and placed it on top of them. I can see a thin gray break where the flooring ends and the outdoor paving starts. Thank You for pointing this out to me. I will definitely avoid this issus in the future. I can fix this on this one, but I'd rather not because that could cause a lot of problems for the 1500+ people who have already downloaded it. Updates for major issues or just changing materials are necessary, my since I don't know who has done what with it, making changes to the mesh could cause issues for anyone who has placed items very close to it, either indoors or out, I don't want to screw anybody up unless I have no choice. But again, a sincere thank you for pointing this out to me as I have several variations of this in the works........ this is why one conducts Alpha & Beta testing....

I'm talking about the bottom. Since it's placed outside it goes up on the pavement. Inside the house it will show a small gap because the flooring stops there. If you still need to see a picture of it let me know. I will do that tomorrow.

texas - see if you can post me screenshot or something so I can see what you're talking about. Last test was specifically for just that. When it's placed correctly, it'll be flush against the side of the house.
