I plan on building a far better successor to this boat in the future, glad you enjoyed some aspects though.
Meanwhile I found this:

Dubbed "S.S. Rescue" yet it still has 'Polyvelante' wirrten on the side.
lol if you're going to rip something off, put the effort in
That's saying if I upload it. Redesigning the interior is easy. I'm struggling with the logic and electrical stuff rn. I cant grasp how add a new node etc.
too many people just complain all the time. figured its a good way to at least help out.
And this is a cracking build. It looks pretty, is fully functional, and doesn't have a large amount of those annoying empty areas that could've easily been furnished. So by all means, this isn't a bad ship.
In fact, if its alright with you, because I like the design so much. I was wondering if it would be alright if I overhauled it? gives me some practice making my own ships (I really want to learn but don't know where to start). I won't upload it unless I have your say so of course. I reckon this is a good template to practice my 'skills' on ;)
Get rid of that magnet on the crane and equip the RHIB with a couple more ropes.
It would be a lot easier to connect them and move the RHIB that way.
Also eliminates the frequent possibility I've faced where the magnet doesn't attach properly and drops the RHIB 'mid-manoeuvre'
Add a third winch on the crane, and add 3 rope anchors on the RHIB (or repurpose the existing ones), forming a triangle when hooked up to the crane. I use that method to tether down the helicopters I use. Infinitely more effective at keeping it stable.
It's too big...
In its smallest possible state (boom retracted as far back) it still overshoots the RHIB. So you're either forced to deploy it by connecting to one side, which is highly inaccurate and makes it near impossible to get off deck. And even if you got that to work, you wouldn't be able to get it back on board because you wouldn't be able to retract the crane far enough.
This would be fixed if you made it so the crane could lift higher, but I imagine it is how it is because of the counterweight on the back.
So ideally, it needs moving. Either to the other end of the deck on the tip of the stern, with its stowed position facing forward, or move it right up to the port hull so the winch is able to accurately be position (ideally) over the middle of the RHIB so you can deploy/salvage it.
The boom is long enough it seems to compensate for the added distance you would need to go by doing this.
Just a suggestion...
@Naxster, I'll fix the gauges and maybe bind the throttle lever, but I don't want to do any more majour updates to this boat I released a week ago now. I'm onto new projects by now, but I'll take all the advice I've received from this build, and use it to make my future creations better. Thanks for the feedback!
1: The ballast gauges don't work right. They readout ok, but the little bar seems to be set up incorrect. As soon as any water goes in ballast, the bar goes straight to the max position. And when empty, it goes to the middle position.
2: I like the one light that turns on/off automatically with a player sensor. If you could set up the rest of the lower cabin lights the same way, that'd be awesome.
3: Some kind of water cannon would be nice for fire fighting.
Keep up the good work!
I could do this @Grizzle, but I'm not 100% sure. I think it could be seen as low effort to go and post 2 types of the same ship, but maybe I'm wrong. This boat doesn't feel quite big enough yet to need a lite version. If you'd like to reduce on lag, simply spawn the boat in the middle of the ocean where there's little lag using an environmental mod. Thanks for the feedback.
