Hey should I place this on top of War and Peace?
Chrissant  [author] 29 Apr, 2023 @ 1:41am
Nope.
Matthewster 7 Apr, 2023 @ 8:37pm
do you need to start a new campaign for the mod to work?
Very Chu 30 Aug, 2022 @ 12:57am
thx for this mod.

Clients can engage in diplomacy independent of you. They only pay you tribute, and would be asked to join a defensive war if you were attacked. That is all. If they were satrapies their diplomacy would be the same as yours and they would be forced to make war and peace with you.

I'm still trying to figure out how clients work. I made the Nori my client and just noticed they left me and are now in a defensive alliance with my enemies, although not at war with me. Can they just leave without notice?

Yeap. :) Description says all.

Hello @Chrissant !
Is it compatible with the latest DeI Beta 1.3?

Thanks!
Chrissant  [author] 28 Jul, 2021 @ 2:43am
The mod has been updated to focus on client states. For the diplomatic function this mod used to have. You can subscribe to this mod right here. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2559221690
Overall the combined function of these two mods will make things even better than before.

Was thinking no penalty, they are 'Client' states lol.
Chrissant  [author] 9 Apr, 2021 @ 9:08pm
In my knowledge vanilla DEI already imposes a small penalty for canceling clienthood.
Wayz 31 Mar, 2021 @ 11:27am
Thanks, diplomatic reputation in TWR2 is a bit annoying at times to the point of being irrational so glad to find this small mod. Any chance you could remove the diplomatic penalty for canceling a client state as well by any chance?
Chrissant  [author] 7 Mar, 2021 @ 6:01am
I did not know that. It's odd. I wonder if that's something that can be modded that nobody knows about. I'll have to look into the files.

Ok so I tried it on both a new game and a save. For those WITHIN your "same blood" or "cultural" group, it drops to untrustworthy. Those that are NOT part of that group (so for instance Rome, or the barbarian tribes if you're Athens, or the Greek city states if you're playing as Rome) drops to trustworthy.
Meaty Ogre 6 Mar, 2021 @ 10:01am
Turn 1 you have no allies. If you declare war you're fine. The second you subjugate on that same turn, you drop to untrustworthy
Chrissant  [author] 5 Mar, 2021 @ 10:28pm
Just in case setting the diplomatic penalty to zero wasn't working, I updated the mod to set the diplomatic penalty to 1 instead. See if it works now.
Chrissant  [author] 5 Mar, 2021 @ 8:33pm
Are you sure your reputation didn't drop to untrustworthy just due to the declaration of war?
Declaring war too early on a former ally or after breaking any treaty has a diplomatic penalty.

Hi, I have this mod at the very top of my order. Other than that it's just graphical mods and the DEI all diplo options mod, plus the base 3 parts of DEI. When attacking and creating a satrapy on the same turn as Athenai, reputation drops to untrustworthy. Is it incompatible with the all diplo options mod?
Chrissant  [author] 4 Mar, 2021 @ 4:32am
That mod's function was integrated into the main mod. It's not necessary. Like I explained below and above in the description, this mod removes a diplomatic penalty for subjugating a faction on the same turn you declared war on them - and also adds client levy slots as you gain imperium.
Meaty Ogre 3 Mar, 2021 @ 11:13am
How is this different from the "1Divide et Impera - Client State Levies" mod by Dresden?
Eskimo 2 Mar, 2021 @ 10:49am
Shame. I'd love to make Helvetii client in Caesar in Gaul to be a little historical for example, but they always get in trouble with Voconti-Aedui etc. then declare war on me
Chrissant  [author] 2 Mar, 2021 @ 4:46am
Unfortunately that's a behavior that's hardcoded into Rome 2. I wish CA did something about it.
Eskimo 2 Mar, 2021 @ 2:46am
Nice mod but they should also make peace with my other client states when I subjugate them.
Chrissant  [author] 26 Feb, 2021 @ 3:38am
Unfortunately that can't be modded. Satraps go to war and peace with you as diplomatically integrated appendages of your empire, while client states only join wars defensively. As explained above nothing the number of units you can levy from client states/satrapies now increase as you gain imperium to a cap of 3 extra units.
The Grimwar 25 Feb, 2021 @ 8:23am
What does it change in terms of client/satrap levies? I'd love it if there were an option to not ask your satraps to go to war with you.
Chrissant  [author] 23 Feb, 2021 @ 4:16am
You're welcome.
Marcus Aurelius 21 Feb, 2021 @ 11:19am
Nice Mod !
