You put it first? I assume you put it below harmony and core or the mod menu would have complained XD I'm having no issues in my overly modded game.
It should work with any mod. If a mod adds new item categories, this mod should automatically use them for those items.

This does not create the categories, it only shows the categories created in xml by vanilla and other mods. To make more categories would require a separate mod or patch

This adds no icons for recipies, I believe it just uses the icon for the product
Yes, it uses the same categories as the stockpiles, so it will automatically sort recipes by the category of the product(s). If it can't find a category for the recipe, then it goes at the top level.
I think it would possible. All I'm doing here is creating a new float menu when an option is selected in another
but it's not available in Vanilla
