It has somewaht incompatibility with some mod.
I used this mod since very long ago but never seen working.
I don't know why, but I just start new save with almost identical mod list
that probably this mod would work this time.
And this time, Ima try it again, hoping it would work.

Are you open for suggestions? Would be neat if we could set the weight limit per category and not one for all. (So you could for example allow all mechs but only animals that provide plenty meat) ANd speaking about animals a option to disable the mod for rotten one would be neat as well!

@Andrew R.L hey, sorry i didnt give more information lol i just kinda commented when i was scrolling through my mods and was sad it wasnt working, didnt expect it to go anywhere

Seems that when my hunters kill animals, or when a maddened animal event occurs, once the animal is killed the animal is disallowed. I'm running with all dlcs, latest update, and only mods that touch animals/animal related that I have are animals logic, not my fault, allow tool, pick up and haul, and white you're up. it worked fine in 1.4 but ever since 1.5 i noticed it being an issue. it may no longer be an issue since ive changed my modlist and started a few new worlds since I noticed it. i'll post again and give you a log/full mod list/whatever if needed

Not sure why you did those steps - but half of what you've described doing has gamebreaking potential by itself. Also no clue why you think adding a mod ABOVE core is a good idea to begin with.

Came here to investigate the mod's situation for my guide-collection - but with 'error reports' like this, there is not much anyone can take away from besides a long list of 'user errors'.

I sport a large collection of mods. I added this mod into ongoing game. The game on load in immediately recognized and allowed two corpses with corresponding messages on top left.
Do you get messages at least?
Did you try new game entirely? The mods may bake in strange stuff.
Also sure it must not be before core.

I unsubscribed from all the mods, except "Core".
I loaded a save, which had four mods before, and saved it (with only the "Core" mod).
I exited the game.
I subscribed to "Allow dead animals".
I moved it first in the list, before "Core".
I loaded the save.
In the mod options, I changed the size of the animals to 1.
The first turkey died and it was not allowed.
I allowed it.
The second turkey died and it was not allowed.

Thank you very much for this mod.
FYI it's not working anymore for me.
I would be happy to provide more info and to test it.

What I tried:

1)
Unsubscribe and subscribe again.

2)
In the "mod options", uncheck "allow" and check it again.

3)
On an alert of death, clicking "Show more" and then clicking "allow".

This mod is the last but one in the order of my five mods.
I don't think any of the others interferes.

Thanks for the mod. It would be great to be able to set the max radius of auto-allowing or the possibility to do it only in the specific zone. For those who play on big maps.

@Sego go to Mod Settings / Allow Dead Animals and change Mass Threshold to zero. This is a settings to filter out half-eaten squirrels and rats to save on colonist time on big maps.

So the whole `...\1.4\Languages` directory was missing on 1.4 branch :V it turns out.
I added it back. Pls check if problem still persists

I really like this mod, but the notifications only say "FreshCarrionSpotted" instead of their intended string. I am using 1.4 with English localization, and I think it has always been like this for as long I have used this mod even in earlier versions.

Ahhh okay, it all just happened in the middle of my chaos of a raid, didn't see my one cook sneak in and yoink the cat haha, admittedly I did forbid it before the notification, appeared so that would explain why it allowed it, but yeah I will keep that in note for future situations thanks :), extremely helpful mod though! keep up the good work

@Jace The Insane: Once this mod allows/notifies something once it remembers to never allow/notify that thing ever again. So - forbidding that thing again makes it forbidden permanently.
I know it's nothing automatic but it works when one needs to make something forbidden forever in situations like this one. Hope it helps.

Would it be possible to add a feature to ignore colony animals? I was about to bury a cat who was killed only to find after I forbid it, it was automatically allowed and they instantly butchered it

It annoyed me so much to come across a rotting muffalo body that just had a missing leg after the T-rex was done with it. If I had found it fresh, that meat could have fed my colony for days. Glad I found this mod.

@Manbeast If your colonists are starving to death then 0, but otherwise 10 is fine.
10 should filter out half-eaten small animals (squirrels, snakes, etc) so your well-fed colonists don't waste precious time hauling squirrel ears for two hour a day.

I killed something like 600 guinea pigs to reproduce this issue (for science) and it was true. Again, thank you for reporting this. I just pushed an update and it's should be fixed now.

As a side-effect this list of forbidden corpses will survive game save/load (will no longer reset on game load). It's a update nobody wanted but everyone deserved :)

Needless to say this update is only tested by myself... so please report here if you see any issues asap

@Andrew R.L. 1. Now you mention it, Mass threshold makes full sense (I first read it "Lots of threshold" like in 'Mass graves'). It'll be very usefull to me!
2. Correct guess for numbers, not so for wealth: Happens at the secondary base of a 4-5 IG tribal start. Map is utterly swarmed by savage ;) guinee pigs and bugs just killed 481 of our own guinee pigs (and were killed too)

I ask this because I expected this to never happen on early game and only (if ever) on some very big or wealthy bases with exceptionally a lot of objects. Am I even right on this?

Mass threshold - corpses lighter than this value are ignored.
This was introduced so we can ignore all half-eaten, useless squirrel corpses and let them rot.

mod not working
This is interesting, I think I know exactly what this is. It supposed to be rare or never, but here we are :T
I will look into this and push a quick patch sometime today and then think how to fix this for good. Thanks for reporting this!

Also, I just forbidded hundreds of animals corpse like 8 times in a raw today and they're enabled again moments later. I kinda remember you made so that forbidding them twice would have corpses stay forbidden. Is my memory wrong, do I miss a setting or is it something else? (I'll deactivate the mod for all animals corpses ftm).

Seems to disallow the animal when placed on the butchering table, buggy at that point, the colonist may still butcher but not as quick so the animal may rot if not managed.
