Ive read that Celtic and Iberin factions were also reworked (idk if it was reskins or if new units were added) but does it means I can play with these new Iberian/Celtic new units if I play with an Iberian or Celtic faction? Or are they available only if the Germans made their way into Gaul or Iberia?

I have a level 3 stables built in Uburzis, Magna Germania, but I can't see any Chauci units. Why is that?

This looks cool, finally someone made the Germanic shields more colorful, other German reskins just leave the shields alone, might try this out:steamthumbsup:

Is there only reskin version for this? So the same units for every germanic tribe to be unique without new units.

Hey there! First of all - this is such a awesome mod, especially if you have watched "barbarians" on netflix and now you're able to recruit all the tribes that have also been in the series ;) Gives that extra feeling to your german uprising XD.

But one bug I have encountered is that the Vandali Swordmasters do not "load" on the battlefield - I believe, that this unit has been deleted by the creator, but they have forgotten to delete it also from the selection interface, i.e. before you start the custom battle.

Maybe, if this mod is still being updated, would you consider fixing it by deleting the unit card completely? Or by actually putting the unit back in? I mean the germanic tribes were fighting with the germanic gods on their side, but a "blank" unit on the battlefield beating the romans might be just a little bit too fantastic! ;)

Anyways, great mod - gotta go now, the germanic hordes need somebody to lead an ambush in an small german forest... ;)

I don't think that this works, Gewis, as this comes with map files. If somebody wants to do this with the Just Tribesmen version - go for it. My concern is only that I don't want the hazzle of updating, dealing with problems etc. I mod other games as well, that is why I don't have the time for such specific things - specifically if they become complex. As I would need to know DEI inside out.
So feel free whoever wants to do this...

@Ancient Warrior - okay - Just tried and it starts at my end. Tested a custom battle now loading into the campaign. Can start a new campaign, means - map-files seem to work. I am in.
Maybe it is only because they did something to the launcher. I load it up again without any changes. Might take a moment - as I do have to figuere out the new launcher.
But that should fix the problem if you have no mod-conflict.

I do something in that field - I even podcast sometimes about this - but I am not going to link you guys that here.^^ (Sorry). But!: This is a game - they cater popular-perceptions here.
If you really want to get into that I can give you only one advice:
Go Prime-Sources - read the original translations or in latin - BECAUSE:
It is very common that historians write books to support their thesis/agenda etc. and you will be unable to tell - if you do not know the sources.
Next: Latin is often wrong translated - means they go litteraly.
Example: Latin: Bare German warriors
Common Trans: Naked German warriors
Latin meaning: German warriors without protection you would expect by Roman standards.
That is what the word "bare" means.

That results into that you will read stuff like: If a German woman is convicted of adultery the husband will strip her naked in front of the family and can beat her out of the house.

In reality that reads: If a German woman is convicted of adultery she looses the right on the children and possessions of the family, and if she does not want to leave she is forcefully tossed out of the family/and possessions.
That is because of German inheritance laws. To know this you need to read: DeBelloGallico, Germania, LexRipuaria

What I do here. Is to combine that with archaeological findings. The white girls f.e. that is based on the oldest pantheon. You know Wodan, Thor etc. That is after 1000 years of development.
So viking-stuff like Edda is no source-book for that. As this is a 1000 years later execution of the North-Germanic culture zone (that is middle-Germany - up to Scandinavia) to counter the Christian execution of the West-Germanics (aka Franks), who took the same deities and gave them latin names. That is why Odin/Wotan the god of wisdom (knowledge) becomes the main-deity and the original main-one the Christians replaced with the Holy-Ghost - Saxnot is gone -as the Saxons are Christians now, but the northern "Saxons" in Scandinavia.
But that is all archaeology, that has a lot to do with nature-science (to understand culture-zones in Europe).

And this - I mix with modern perceptions. As here - the Finni f.e. I had one guy here who said: We are not all Sami people! - As a fun-fact - in that time - the word Finni only meant Sami people. For Romans - everybody in Europe - from Ireland to Russia - and Norway to Austria/France is a German or half-German. As it means: People of culture X.
A German can become a Gaul.^^ (he changes culture/develops).
That we do not precieve it like that anymore is because of the last 200 years, because of politics. The Slavics had the same deities even 1000 years later, we find with the "Germans" 1000 years before. So you want to look into archeology as well.

Possible that I took that out - because it is just the same units only with a different name.
I have no clue and would have to look into that in detail, as I am off Rome II modding and only look into it once in a while to keep the mods up to date with the latest game-changes.
There is even a chance that CA changed something (yes, they did stuff like that in the past) so that suddenly the units require an additional entry that came with patch version X.
But I honestly do not know. Can be - can not be.
In GrandCampaign they should be displayed as well as in the IA campaign. That was tested to 100%.

I see all the units in Custom Battle for Grand Campaign, but not Imperator Augustus.....

@Brandon I am not sure anymore if it is unlocked, because I can not recall the buildings, as the focus is here playing as Germanic factions
@Alexandros Just Tribesmen is a 'just unit' mod -if that is what you are asking for - more everybody can do on his own - see the FAQ or read above

Yes. You need the province and the building. Your Batavi would be in Magna Germania (I do not think that there is a Frisia; so where the Netherlands are at today geographically no matter how they call it in-game) and you require at least stables level 4.

Updated the mod to be compatible with latest patch (Rise of Republic).

Tested in Custom Battle & Grand Campaign/Augustus Campaign (other maps were never supported - for that you might refer to thee Just Tribesmen version).
