I'm pretty sure adding new units doesn't break a previous save; as it hasn't lost anything.
This isn't the Ancient Egypt that built the pyramids, this is an extremely hellenised society. I've represented this by making this specific unit a mix of Greeks and locals.
There were Greek colonists who worshipped this 'dual' God; and it's fair to assume some Egyptians did. It may not be historically accurate in that this actual fighting force existed, but I wouldn't say it's completely inplausible.
Remember Zeus-Ammon, not just Zeus; you shouldn't take away the important 'Ammon' factor to give credence to your argument. They aren't called 'Warriors of Zeus'.
It's not meant to be an Egyptian unit per say, it is a Greek and Egyptian unit-- hence the name venerating the two gods of each culture.
There's even a temple of Zeus-Ammon in the game.
Make the vanilla unit colorful with many different collors(keeping it historical and logical of course). I would lile to suggest light red, light blue, beige. These were colors you would actually find among the egyptian army.
These way, they will look a lot more realistic and diverse.
