Doh! Thanks for getting back to me so quick. There goes my EPIC Rome campaign :(
Billcimus  [author] 9 May, 2014 @ 4:37am
Yes, some of these units were adapted and modified by my brother, and were subsequently put into the Radious units pack.

Hi Squire, not sure why having some compatibility issues with this unit pack, your iceni acarthage one, all causing my game to crash but your axum one is fine. Are these packs included in Radious now? Could that be the reason?

One of the reasons I quit playing Rome 2 was because I hated the fact that Egypt was just a Greek Clone army. This mod actually convinced me to try the game once more. Keep the awesome ethnic units comming, I hope!

I believe saves only become unusable if you try and reload one after removing a unit mod that was in use previously on that position.

I'm pretty sure adding new units doesn't break a previous save; as it hasn't lost anything.
Last-Aztec-Descendant 25 Mar, 2014 @ 1:06pm
are they save compatible

There is a temple in the game called Temple of Zeus-Ammon.

This isn't the Ancient Egypt that built the pyramids, this is an extremely hellenised society. I've represented this by making this specific unit a mix of Greeks and locals.

There were Greek colonists who worshipped this 'dual' God; and it's fair to assume some Egyptians did. It may not be historically accurate in that this actual fighting force existed, but I wouldn't say it's completely inplausible.

Remember Zeus-Ammon, not just Zeus; you shouldn't take away the important 'Ammon' factor to give credence to your argument. They aren't called 'Warriors of Zeus'.

It's not meant to be an Egyptian unit per say, it is a Greek and Egyptian unit-- hence the name venerating the two gods of each culture.

Yes but i doubt that something like this unit forming is even remotely plausible. I understand that the purpose of many mod units isnt always to be historical, but it would just sound better if their names were better. If any place was going to make a unit called the "warriors of Zeus" it would be the Greeks, and even then that is unlikely.

Egypt at this point in history was very much hellenised. Greek colonists saw a similarity between their main god, Zeus, and the Egyptian main god, Amun-- upon which they seem to essentially slam the two together, hence Zeus-Ammon.

There's even a temple of Zeus-Ammon in the game.

You heard of Ptolemy?
NHsports123 23 Mar, 2014 @ 2:37pm

Cool Mod! Someone like you should make a remake of old RTW1 Pharaoh's Guard and Bowmen aswell! :D
miguel.b97 22 Mar, 2014 @ 6:18pm
could you remake the egyptian infantry by coloring its armor only?
Make the vanilla unit colorful with many different collors(keeping it historical and logical of course). I would lile to suggest light red, light blue, beige. These were colors you would actually find among the egyptian army.
These way, they will look a lot more realistic and diverse.
MangyMinotaur 22 Mar, 2014 @ 5:47pm
The look really befits the grandeur and ornamentation that egyptians go for. Well done :bd
Last-Aztec-Descendant 22 Mar, 2014 @ 2:41pm
