I may just be missing something, but do your ships need the DLCs to operate? I'm using them in creative so I don't care if they're required for air tightness.

Yeah, haven't really seen many people do it before but I've been doing it for a few months now. It's a pretty great way of making docking arms not stick out of ships in weird places.
