Hello subscribers! A PRE-RELEASE version of EK Armory balance patch has been released! It doesn't have firearms/ammo crafting yet but I'm working on it.

@Demopan that mod hasn't been updated since last December and doesn't have containers for medicine, new items, FPGA circuits, etc.

New changes by popular demand. Increased backpack slots but medic uniforms can't be placed in inventories. Bulk resource crates stack even more.

Do you want me to convert the resource crates into prettier Storage Containers that only accept one type of resource according to the texture?

Sure there is a medical backpack but i can only wear one backpack and in singleplayer taking multiple people out is pain

Powercells? You got it. Plants, nope. You have a medical backpack for that. Overkill? A toolbelt has 6 slots. I don't want OP backpacks.

Another thing thaat would be nice is putting plants in the backpack, they tend to spawn near ores. And powercells, because carrying spares is a common thing

Backpack fixed in the next update. I'm leaving the drill as it is. Also I've rebalanced the Hardsuits... again. This time they protect form radiation like PUCS (with drawbacks).

I'm not exactly sure, but it sure does feel faster. But as i said, sometimes its hard to hit the ore, especially when you are in currents. The plasma cutter is only better in that you can see its range, becausue if you hit a resource with the flame, it gets mined. Drill is a bit more complex. Too close and it wont work, too far and it wont work either

@Demopan The drill's hitbox is already about 50% longer than the bit's sprite.
By the way, does it really only take 0.75 seconds to deattach ore? Is it faster than a plasma cutter? I don't know how to test it in the sub editor.

I think it would be nice if the drill got a little bigger mining hitbox, its a bit annoying to aim at times. Could make the graphical drill bit a little longer and thicker and then buff to that

I'm literally 3 items from finishing EK Armory balance patch+ (might call it "Expanded")
Expect it this week. Adds proximity fuses and other cool stuff along with balancing and removing the crafting of firearms and ammo.

I won't be balancing EK Gunnery because I feel it's balanced.

Thanks for this, Ek utilities is a great mod but the bulk crates makes wrecks way too rewarding, making gathering resources pointless after one or two wrecks, good balance changes.

@Zothen yes. This mod takes sound and image files from the original EK Utilities folder whether or not that mod is enabled.
However, items I haven't modified in this mod won't be available.

I'm finishing a patch for EK Armory. Currently the plan is to have 2 versions but I might make more if requested:
V1 (everything balanced and uncraftable guns and ammo)
V2 (everything balanced and hard-to-fabricate guns and ammo)
Version 2 will take more time to release because I'm adding things such as gunpowder and primers.

Major update: bulk containers can now be fabricated for on-board usage and hold 20 resources. The mod can now be installed during ongoing campaigns.

"Condensed containers"? Is he referring to the EK crates? If so they threw off the economy by (lots of additional) miles through wreck loot.

I removed them completely because I prefer using storage containers. And they cluttered the fabricator list.

Hello subscribers. Should I nerf the amount of reinforced fuel tanks spawning in wrecks?

The reason I've not done that yet, and I might also return nerfed reinforced oxygen tanks, is because the default tanks explode way too quickly when on fire and I can't play without using reinforced ones.
