So... because this is discontinued... do I just remove it?
TurtleShroom 10 Sep, 2022 @ 2:48pm
Huh.
Ryuudra  [author] 10 Sep, 2022 @ 12:03pm
I tried editing either the VFE Vikings mead barrels <ItemProcessor.ItemAcceptedDef> or the <ProcessorFramework.ProcessDef> of SYR's Universal Fermenter to allow for a thingCategory instead of specific items. Both didnt work.

Since Mead does not have a "recipe" in the sense most of the game has. I thought modifying the barrel comps is the only way
TurtleShroom 10 Sep, 2022 @ 11:08am
Sadly, the honey doesn't work for the Vanilla Expanded series' Mead, or any sort of processor. It's actually very easy to do, though: just add each type of honey with the MAYREQUIRE into a Patch and put it in the ingredients list for Mead.

Would you like me to help you? I'm confused as to how it didn't make any sense to you how to do this.
Ryuudra  [author] 10 Sep, 2022 @ 8:58am
I've tried both the Vikings mead barrel and Syrchalis' Universal Framework, but I could not figure out a way to fix it without hardcoding everything in xml. orz

I am not a proficient modder, I just wanted to get rid of the honey conundrum, but at this point I realize I am out of my depth. I am sorry but in my current state I cannot see this mod progressing further.

I'll keep the mod listed, but do not expect updates. I'm sorry, and thank you all for your help and support.
//SlipperyPete:. 6 Sep, 2022 @ 8:41pm
Will this make honey from Misc. Bees'n'Honey compatible with Vanilla Cooking Expanded? (if it's not already.. I haven't tested it yet)
TurtleShroom 6 Jul, 2022 @ 8:11am
I have found a new Mod that adds Honey!

https://www.steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2830700043

Here's to another million more patches!

(Also, with the update to the Vikings Mod to use the Universal Processor Mod, I still can't make Mead out of anything but that Mod's Honey.)
The Gaming Archaeologist 19 Mar, 2022 @ 5:46am
Why the fuck did this not exist before?!?!?!?!?!
Nighzmarquls 1 Nov, 2021 @ 11:50pm
I'm not seeming to be able to ferment apini honey in the mead fermenting barrel. Was there an update somewhere or should I be looking for another mod interaction?
Prophet Of Merci 19 Oct, 2021 @ 12:25am
@Steaplay

Good niche mod. I wasnt getting annoyed when trying to make alcohol since there were like 2-3 different types of grapes, with specific fermenting barrels for each, including 3-4 different honey, and Barley, Worts etc.
DisKorruptd 9 Oct, 2021 @ 3:02am
Can you please make a version of this mod for "Flour"? VE Food and I Am Hungry both add Flour, but cannot use one another's for their recipes
VolatileGlitchAviator 9 Sep, 2021 @ 10:38am
nope not yet, but will do!
Ryuudra  [author] 9 Sep, 2021 @ 9:07am
I did not do anything related to achievements.

An achievement for collecting honey is added by RimBees . Have you already told them about this bug?
VolatileGlitchAviator 7 Sep, 2021 @ 5:01pm
I keep getting the achivement collect 500 honey, I am not sure if it is from this mod or not, if it is, is there a fix for it?
TurtleShroom 3 Sep, 2021 @ 6:53pm
I have the CKAPP Mod and the Vanilla Faction Expanded Vikings Mod, and this is such a useful Mod to have on hand. That's especially the case given that the CKAPP Mod makes honey more efficiently...
Ryuudra  [author] 20 Aug, 2021 @ 8:59am
An error that happens because it patched my patch for another mod, which i removed ... Yikes, shoulda never messed with their groups. Sorry about the mess
Reianor 19 Aug, 2021 @ 4:31pm
Yup, it's definitely that. Removing it manually fixes the issues.
Reianor 19 Aug, 2021 @ 3:57pm
I think the issue is that BeeGirl Race has a patch for your mod that changes it's buildings' categories, which, I'm guessing, was not updated (removed?) to react to your category removal.
Reianor 19 Aug, 2021 @ 3:36pm
Your 1.3 group removal seems to have re-broken BeeGirl Race compatibility.
I'm getting the same issue as TheSevenSins reported (can't build any of it's buildings) with your mod. And not having them without it.
I'm on 1.2 btw.
Ryuudra  [author] 21 Jul, 2021 @ 8:49am
With the Searchbar in 1.3, I removed the grouping of the various apiaries/beehives/bee workbenches etc. I think it's a not really impactful feature at this point.
On v1.2 this was more useful, but I think this could be misleading when I move the building designations around, as well as causing bugs with Add-Ons for those mods..

So I've currently removed it across all versions
Cal 12 Jul, 2021 @ 5:45pm
@teres_draconis just use RimPy to manage your mods and have it download a local copy for you. Then you don't have to worry about your issue and you can control when or if you update mods.
Ryuudra  [author] 13 Jun, 2021 @ 7:19am
@teres
I do not have any external host for the files. Nothing to do with sense of loyalty, just seems kinda excessive to me for such a little project.

Making a local copy of the mod should work as well. Just copy this mod folder ".../steamapps/workshop/content/249100/2415405169/" into your Rimworld folder ".../steamapps/common/RimWorld/Mods/".

Another explanation from a reddit post

teres_draconis 12 Jun, 2021 @ 8:23pm
I am on a Rimworld kick, and am playing it almost every day. I have been traveling a lot, and have more traveling to do in the coming months, and not everywhere I want to play has good internet access (including on a plane). I noticed last month that I can only play my subscribed mods if I am connected to the internet when I first load Rimworld, and if I change my modlist in the middle, they all just disappear. I talked to Steam, and apparently *this is deliberate*. While there is absolutely a place to install mods manually, anything that is downloaded via subscription is temporary, and only available when online.

I *like* this mod. I *use* this mod. I do not see a place to download it directly. If it does not offend your sense of loyalty to Steam (or any other senses, for that matter), would you please post a link so that I may download it for use even in offline mode?

Teres D.
Ryuudra  [author] 9 May, 2021 @ 9:19pm
BeeGirl issues has been fixed, and despite the current error message of "Should load after this mod", it works fine. I don't know xpath that well, it might work either way.

I am also trying to optimise the existing patches to something more generic so I don't have to patch every mod every single time, but again, I am still kinda bad at figuring out correct syntax. Coupled with my increased workload IRL, updates will slow down.

But I'll try to fix bugs & other issues ASAP if they pop up.
TheSevenSins 7 May, 2021 @ 10:03am
The compatibility mod adds its own "bee&honey" tab, replacing the other tabs, which is probably the reason why it doesn't show up in the build menu.
Ryuudra  [author] 7 May, 2021 @ 4:40am
Noted, I'll have to see what exactly breaks though and why
TheSevenSins 6 May, 2021 @ 5:47pm
I have discovered that this mod breaks the "rimbees addon: beegirl" mod.
Ryuudra  [author] 24 Apr, 2021 @ 7:48am
TL;DR: yes

Should be no difference, as brewing is defined in RecipeDefs the same way cooking is, IIRC.

I searched and patched all affected RecipeDefs, I did not exclusively patch cooking only.

I might've missed some defs though, let me know if you find any
Hushpuppy 23 Apr, 2021 @ 1:09pm
They work in cooking recipes, but do they work in brewing as well? For example, can I make honey-mead from Vikings, using honey from Rimbees?
Miguel V-DF 25 Mar, 2021 @ 8:25am
Can you make the honey of this mod https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2374143623 "Rimhammer - The End Times - Empire" compatible as well?
Bartmagus 24 Mar, 2021 @ 2:14pm
Thenk you for your fast reply :)
Ryuudra  [author] 24 Mar, 2021 @ 1:43pm
Oh yea, now I know what you mean - the list of stufff in your stockpiles.

Yea, never thought about their icons, although in hindsight it's obvious.
I'll fix that, thanks for the info
Bartmagus 24 Mar, 2021 @ 1:17pm
"recorses readout Honey category" - I ment the list thing on the left of the screan. No texture on the map is actualy mising. Tere is no game breaking bug. Its just a visiual thing that bugs me.
Ryuudra  [author] 24 Mar, 2021 @ 12:43pm
I don't modify any texture data, and no texture is dependant on other mods AFAIK.

Are you sure this is caused by me?

Also, what do you mean by "recorses readout Honey category"? Do you mean the displayed nutrient requirements of recipes? It may be be a mod that does that and got broken somehow.
Bartmagus 22 Mar, 2021 @ 1:34pm
I use Vikings and RimBees so maybe i miss a texture from othe modes you listed
Bartmagus 22 Mar, 2021 @ 1:22pm
I found a small visual bug. Its hard to describe. On a recorses readout Honey category has that pink box with X for mising textures. Its nothing game breaking.
Is it posible to get this fixed?
Bizz 17 Mar, 2021 @ 12:43pm
right on! thanks for the rundown. and good luck in your learning. i have a few ideas for mods, might have to take it up myself. thanks again friend.
Ryuudra  [author] 17 Mar, 2021 @ 10:24am
Having figured out how to xpath better, I am currently focusing on cleaning up the mess I have made, mostly in recipe patches.
This will not really change anything besides more defensively patching, so it should end up more compatible if other mods tend to fiddle with those as well.
Ryuudra  [author] 17 Mar, 2021 @ 10:18am
Concerning T4/T5 bee research: They are not some unlock like the normal research projects. They provide in-game tips on how to crossbreed the more late-game variants, but that's it. It doesn't gate you, you can unlock them just by trial-and-error as well.

As for T1 to T3, they are considered basic to mid-tier. Here is an overview from RimBees' Ludeon page, scroll down to "Notes" [ludeon.com]
Bizz 16 Mar, 2021 @ 5:04pm
thanks for the reply, yeah a bunch of them but t4 seems to be the earliest? maybe t4 just doesn't have a prerequisite research? doing a tribal start so research is slow going but checking in Rimsqol reveals there's no research requirement for them. Hmmm, i'll update tomorrow when i'm deeper in, feel free to ask questions and I can provide a modlist or whatever if you'd like
Ryuudra  [author] 16 Mar, 2021 @ 2:19pm
Only thing I noticed was that the recipe says it wants 50 RimBees. Looks weird I admit, but this happens because I renamed the CategoryLabels (see 3rd picture above.)

Other than that, there was nothing wrong. I was able to create the research at the bee research table. Granted, it currently allows only honey from RimBees, so that could use a patch. Are you running any extra mods?
Bizz 16 Mar, 2021 @ 10:35am
to clarify bee research (any of them) inside the bee research table from rimbees.
Bizz 16 Mar, 2021 @ 10:34am
I can't create bee research, 'bee honeys' doesn't even show up on the filter to select. thanks for undertaking this! I enjoy the bees. :D
Ryuudra  [author] 14 Mar, 2021 @ 3:36am
When you get an error "Could not find ResearchProjectDef", it's because of the aforementioned removal of the dll. With that gone, I removed some leftover clutter last update, including the empty definitions. That ResearchProject was one of them.

It should have no impact other than you having to unlock some research of the original mods again.

After a save+reload the error will be gone, but please tell me if some error still happens to you because of it.
Ryuudra  [author] 13 Mar, 2021 @ 10:35am
@oicher sure, but it depends on how you want to go about it.

Like I do in this mod, you group the items under a new ThingCategory, and xpath the 'ingredientFilter' and 'fixedIngredientFilter' to use that category instead of the old, specific single item.

I don't plan on doing it myself currently, but I think it is easy enough, anyone can xpath. I might push it before the wax stuff, but no promises.
Ryuudra  [author] 13 Mar, 2021 @ 10:27am
The dll is responsible for grouping the various research projects.
Why that works in C# and redefining the ThingCategory of items does not is beyond my simple understanding of modding RimWorld.

That being said, I plan on removing the dll next update. It inconsistently removes too many research projects from Apini, which messes up their whole tech tree.

So I decided to scrap this idea for now and focus on the ingredient-compatibility of the many kinds of honey.
Miguel V-DF 13 Mar, 2021 @ 3:35am
if the dll is useless, why are you still keeping it on the mod?
bk3000 12 Mar, 2021 @ 5:31pm
Ah thanks for this.
