with the aether reactors could you make them place-able outside the systems gravity well, with the requirement that an astral rift or astral scar is in the system?

@wiirlak - Thanks, I figured out the confusion now. I saw the single line in the wiki about empire specialization bonuses at +15, and was looking all through the rest of the wiki for what those bonuses were since the Militaristic/etc. bonuses were described in detail.

Should be okay ? Not the safe option, but possible I guess.

General modding wisdom, don't touch mods on a running save. I can have intended effects, worse to remove content than adding.

If you try, make sure to have a save to rollback - or you may need to restart a game.

At year 15, it's a choice based on ethics / authority, then year 50 / 100 / 150 for military/economic/architectural/etc...

The Ambitions are about military/economic/architectural/etc., but I'm talking about the prompt where I picked (Dictatorial) = -20% empire size effect, but could have chosen a Materialist or Authoritarian bonus instead. I was looking for a list of what bonuses are linked to which authorities/ethics but didnt find one.

You can't Border Control with the Starlit Citadel Origin.
But you can use the megastructure otherwise.

There seems to be a feature (which was there originally) that isnt mentioned or explained in the documentation - at the 15-year mark when Empire Specialization begins, you get a choice of empire bonuses that is linked to your ethics/authority?

The long awaited update is done ! 4.0 is here !

I had to check, change, balance and fix things in every files. There's probably things I missed, mainly for balancing, so tell me !

Changelog is available as usual (but not all numbers as writting X => 100X would be boring).


Also, I was selected to participate in the MODJAM 2025. So will be busy with that for a while !

The tools to code barely got updated to 4.0; and life is very busy right now.
I managed to cut 5/6 of the errors logs at startup. I still have tons of stuff to fix and update.

I mainly wait for my tools to update to 4.0 so I can work on the update; and also that Paradox stop updating the game every day (good for players, not for modders).


In the meantime, some statistics - right now, the english localization file is :
- 514 413 characters
- 43 387 words
- 6 830 lignes
- 524 168 octets

In a novel format, that would be over 130 pages (at 325 words per page); about the size of a short adult novel.

isn't it the case that Astral Scars start opening in the Mid Game? could've sworn during one of my games Astral Rifts born from Astral Scars did not start appearing until the mid game (Event Rifts excluded)

I cant encounter new open astral scars after subscribing this mod except the first one guiding you to the situation. Does this mod change the mechanism or it's just a compatible bug? Thank you.
