@SPEngineer : You start with a half of the streets in player’s property, so you burden 400k $ for street maintenance from the start. Untack all these streets and it is much easier to get into profit.

@mike its a map, but I always wanted to make a scenario with hops and wine. It really needs the new 1/32x speed mod as it is so big.

is this a mission with a scenario or just a map?

@SPEngineer Agreed, but once you can get a single track mainline going with some food and passengers it will give you a base to start building ships to ship your goods. I play sandbox and and give myself some cash to build at first, but otherwise you need to run the game for a while 3x with the date paused.

I can see why the SP/NWP/NPC abandoned this route after better trucks came along and the 101, but the trackage was extremely scenic. I have had fun recreating small sections of the map in a freegame and doing cab rides. I will post videos once I have had more time to work the map.

Great map but near impossible to turn a profit on anything lol. Nice work!

Thanks @GenGoad, let me know if you have any feedback after you get settled in your playthrough

@grundlehner I questioned adding some of the smaller towns, but I wanted to be sure to have towns where the historic trains and stages went to circa 1870ish. You can demo them with sandbox mode if needed. Penngrove got stuck as an empty town, not sure how to demo it myself. I built the roads so you didn't have to spend a fortune on them when costs are on. Most are on the 1866 map linked above.

Would be a nice map without most of the streets and towns. Just some nice mountain trails I would keep.

A beautiful map. Even if I don't know how exactly it corresponds to reality. I just wanted to look at the map ... - and immediately started building. Thanks for that!
