but either way tysm
Obsidian skulls are used for both the obsidian shield, and for the lava waders, but I only found a 1 chest of 4, instead of 2 different chests of 4
Thank you for your feedback, the map is definitely rough around the edges, still hopefully was a fun experience for what it was. I just don't have a reason to go back and update it to clean that stuff up.
The Hive/Sunplate are where I stopped getting regular testers for the map because at that point I was over a year into the project and just wanted the thing done. That's why that area is unreasonably hard + the enemies now spawning in... yeah it's rough. The Sapphire challenge area I messed up, it's actually 6 blocks smaller than the others so it's rather easy... oops. All the areas listed Cursed Grove/Crystal Caverns were yeah, not fantastic. I originally planned for hermes boots to be accessible in Crystal but, well, messed up the sequencing and now it's just unfun. The difference in quality from some areas to others is definitely an issue.
From a play-through online, it seems there is something broken (or something very hidden) for that "final challenge" room.
I love collecting the vanities and armors, but a few sets seem to be extremely hard to complete (are they impossible?).
(I don't know how I could only have 2 pieces of tin armor, for example.)
(cutting out a bunch of text here)...
A lot of work clearly went into this map. I haven't played many maps, but this is one of the best maps to play (if you don't mind parkour. I don't mind it)
First of all, the locations. Specifically, the Crystal Caverns. They're not fun, they're not hard, they're not challenging, but oh boy are they annoying. It's essentially almost an hour of literally just walking and nothing else. The enemies being there stopping you every second don't help, you can't even use the Shield of Cthulhu since you'd be knocked back. I also wanted to mention The Hive, which is one of the biggest reasons I decided to stop, but after reading the comments, alright, that's not a problem then.
Then we have just collection stuff. This one isn't as much something I disliked, but just a nitpick/suggestion, it would be nice to have some sort of a storage room for all the vanity and equipment you can find throughout the map, for the 100% people out there like I am.
I can now finally play this
Thank you for your kind words about the map, super appreciated! I put every part of myself into this so I'm so glad people are able to enjoy it.
Yep no rules against crafting stuff that doesn't break the other rules
btw, love the map so far; I think this might've had the best underwater area I've seen in a game, and having stuff like being able to dash twice while underwater and needing to swap between illumination and respiration was really cool . And the map layout really does a good job of giving a sense of exploration like Hollow Knight has
Using that item wouldn't be against the rules technically, but it existed after I made those rules.
...It's totally not breaking any of rules to use the Pew-matic Horn it dropped, right? Heh
You must find the teleporters in the world (NOT in the gem room) to progress.
I would suggest heading Eastward
Amethyst 8 is incredibly difficult, that and level 9 act as barriers for people who wouldn't have beaten the hardest levels later on anyway, trust me, it gets harder.
I appreciate the suggestion but I have no plans on making the map "accessible" when you can easily take your pickaxe or place some blocks if you would like to skip the area.
