Thanks for this mod, it was in my extensions folder for a very long time. On my recent playthrough I've disabled it tho, I'm using ship mods on specific ships instead, it feels less "cheaty".
What I really hate in recent updates is the damage for oos ships, keep losing stupid miners diving in hazardous areas to mine some gas, and they also blow their ship in total radio silence, no comms, no damage warnings, just the red entry in the logbook...
Any chance you could remove the damage for oos ships only? Just like it was before version 7.0 of the game.

You're welcome to use this mod as a springboard for your own tweaks though! Check out the github URL.

To figure out where these "clusters" really are, I recall looking for mentions of the sector names in the language files to see what sector/cluster number they map to.

This really needs a revisit soon anyway. I'm hoping to get away with waiting for the new Terran/Boron connecting sectors :D

I doubt I'll be removing the shield damage though. There's got to be something there, since the universe layout would be balanced around the idea of the area being dangerous. Arguably they are less dangerous since the beta (since boost is no longer using shield power).

Any chance we could have a version of this that removes shield damage as well? I have THarkas cascade colonized but the constant flashing of the shields is annoying :P

Just a small fix for your german description: it's not zwei (two; 2) but drei (three; 3).

Just improved the wording a bit. Especially "kompatibel speichern" is wrong, since you don't need to save it again to be compatible, but instead that savegames are compatible with it. But for the rest you were nearly correct.

A better translation of Save compatible would be "Kompatibel mit Speicherständen", though if you want my opinion, instead go with something along the lines of "Kann mit existierenden Spielständen genutzt werden." ("Can be used with existing savegames.")

Those things you're looking for are outside the scope of this mod. I'm sure some md scripting could clean up the junk like mines, but again - out of scope. The asteroid rotation - I don't know how that's defined at the moment so I'd have to do a bunch of research to figure out how - but that would also be outside the scope of this mod.

This mod is doing exactly what it's meant to do for the current version of the game.

hi thanks 4 this mod ! but i have a request...can u update your mod ?
1. can u remove all the crap lying around stations and in space debris and mines that serve no reason but to eat up frame rate.. expecially in silent witness 12 ...reduce the rotation of asteroids..the used to be a mod that did that but i don.t see it he claimed that ate up frame rates..olus it's a pain in the azz if ur trying to mine crystals thanks if u decide to do it! ;p

So awesome that you updated this already for Sanctuary of Darkness! I've been tearing my hair out over how insane this system behaves right now and I no longer have to wait for EgoSoft to get around to fixing the AI pathing and other issues here.

I've completed the update and verified no bad data edits in the debug log - but I haven't actually played the DLC yet. Please let me know if you still receive hull damage in the new sector.

Additionally I added a parameter to The Void and the new system that tells AI it's safe to path through that I had noticed was added to Tharka's Cascade at some point since X4's 5.00 release.

The build-in checkbox is for travel restrictions, not activities.
And im not in sector.
My miner rather go 2 sector away for gas, instead of just mining the high concentration area literally envelopes the whole station

There's a built-in checkbox somewhere about hazardous regions, but I can't remember where or what the default is.

For what it's worth, my miners don't seem to care. Are you in-sector with them?

Part 3:Conclusion, I have to deal with The Void if I want methane to help the Antigone from Xenon takeover, but unless I manually fly EVERY SHIP in and out and DO NOT assign a FLEET which will kill itself and leaves me vulnerable to attack, it won't work. I was like, no I seriously just can't. So, I quit, then really upset, starting looking up the forums and surprisingly I'm like one of the only few people who seem to have this issue because there's not much on it. But then I found your MOD. Thank you so much good kind sir for potentially saving the game for me. I'm going to try it now and cross my fingers all is will. So thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Part 2: My ships die regardless if i'm in sector or not and I put 10 satellites to verify they were dying because of the HEN. Then on top of that you're like OKEEEY fine, I'll deal with this eye sheering mechanic and make everything manual that I need to go through these HENs. NOPE! Why?? because stations SPAWN in the HENs. OK. I'll just avoid those stations. NOPE! Why?? Because the stations next to them (But not in them) still can't manage to dock without dying. OK. Then should I just avoid them altogether and only mine the gas? NOPE! Why?? Oh because if I don't personally help these factions (with logistics transport of goods) the Xenon start taking over everything and I just don't want to deal with Xenon taking over the map.

Draeath, thank you very much. I'm a new player and almost decided to quit the game yesterday for the mere fact of these Hull Eating Nebulas (HEN) bull****. I know people say "yewr sheeps don't die if you're knot in sektor" but it's total fried mushrooms.

It looks like, for 4.20, Tharka's Cascade's damage field was nerfed by Egosoft. There's only a shield damage field defined, now, and it's a weak one too. The way this mod is written, that's entirely fine - it just doesn't change anything in this case.

The Void remains as it did before and so this mod does what it should, there.

5.00 RC1 doesn't appear to change anything that'll matter either. Should be good to go.

This is great, but I was curious how hard it would be to take it a step further and remove the 'hazard' completely? The fact that it only applies when you are in system is kinda..meh, and I would rather it be removed completely.

OK, fixed it. There's two ways you can fix your saves - one safer and one much faster more advanced way.

First way: leave the mod subscribed and enabled, and verify the extension version in the menu is "1.01" or newer - load your game and immediately re-save it. You may now remove the mod.

Second way: the game saves are just gzipped XML. Look in:
"%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Egosoft\X4\###\save\" (the ### will be unique to your steam account)

While the game is at the main menu, edit the save file looking for and removing the following - in my games it was listed twice:
<patch extension="ws_2440309187" version="100" name="Hazard Rework"/>

You want the game running when you do this so that Steam Cloud doesn't overwrite your change when you next launch the game. You may need to reload the game for the menu to allow you to load the now modified save file.

Finally I can be able to build my Empire in The Void without being bound to only use L Miners and being not forced to watch the hour glass because frankly I am not allowed to be in my own sector without my own ships blowing up...

Very nice! I was thoroughly fed up with the A.I piloting my scout ships parking their ships in a hazard zone to collect lockboxes or whatever and melting the hull in the attempt.
