Oh, I see... I could submit this request, but last time i tried to sign up the Github they made me to solve math, I'm too dumb for this :)

@Modest Going back to your question, I think I misunderstood it:

This mutator removes the message to "Open doors" for doors that can be opened. It "Does not" remove message for doors that are permanentally locked. I'm pretty sure it can be added to this mutator tho, anybody is free to submit a PR to the Github repo with features :zageyes:

Critical, Important note for anyone who has less than 2 brain cells and has issues with the mutator

- I made a new change in v1.7 that automatically detects your HUD, even if you are using a custom HUD (e.g. ScrN, ServerPerks, ColorfulHUD, etc...) however, you need to note that this mutator should ALWAYS be added at the END of your mutators list.

It will NOT work if there is a mutator that modifies the HUD " After " this mutator loads.

e.g. of how you should load it

mutators=XXX, YYY, CustomHUD_1, CustomHUD2, HUDEffects.HUDEffects

If you are musing MutLoader (or MutLoaderV2) just make sure that Mutator=HUDEffects.HUDEffects is at the end of your mutators list as well.

I'm not sure if it's the same if you are hosting a listen server.

Please don't ask me to try and 'fix' this, I will not fix what is not broken.

Thank you! I'll test the mod fully when I've been able to source a GPU for my computer (may take months). :blackcoffee: :Clot:

And to clarify, I was actually (accidentally) running the Linux port of KF1 rather than the Windows version under Proton.

@Croco Mut has been updated and added the following:

- Zed Time messages
- Door Use messages
- Door welding messages

@Croco Nice suggestion. I just did a very quick look and looks like we can also disable/change the doors messages. (Same for 'Press XXX to Trade'), I'll add it this evening and let you know.

Let me know if you have any other ideas ^^ And if the Mut is working for you properly now.

@Vel-San Great! I should've mentioned that I'm running under Linux, I expected no difference with Proton and native (perhaps naively). The original poorly-received Linux version didn't work either, but no reason trying to research that one now when Valve has their own compatibility tool.

I will test on Windows at some point to ensure that I certainly installed the mod correctly.

In the meantime you may want to check if you're able to disable the "press 'E' to open /close doors" / "Use the Welder to seal closed doors." message which for some reason is shown to all players even at the 'minimal' hint level. I'd already consider this one as one of the greatest KF1 mods since I vastly prefer QOL.

Almost never try a mutator in Solo play :csdsmile: Give it a try in either listen or dedicated servers. The mod won't run on the server side, it will just execute for clients only. So I believe even listen servers, the host won't have the changes but only other clients. Please try it with listen servers as well. I can make an updated on ( in case it doesn't work proper on Listen servers too )

I can't get the mod to work unfortunately, downloaded from Github and extracted to /KillingFloor/System/. The config file disables all effects by default, right? Is the mod client-side (I've only tested in solo play)?

@Nic this was the initial update from the old mut made by Dr. And the others. I am planning on doing exactly what you mentioned ^^ also looking into disabling screen shakes.

Instead of setting refs to none -> change it to a new, transparent material.
