I think the cubes sometimes get nudged off course when portal funneling kicks in. Perhaps because the floor portal is likely to be very slightly off-centre.

Thanks for playing! The 2nd side room was a weird glitch with the angled panel that randomly messed with the cube angle. Also, the light strips on the wall are a hint and "sign" of how high the cube needs to be. GG!

Great map ! I also feel dumb for getting stuck on one of the side section :steamfacepalm:

MrMister, you're either the first person to find that mistake or the first person to mention it, so kudos. I can confirm that it's exactly the same in my stand-alone version of the room, so I must claim responsibility for the error. Maybe the button should also activate a flip panel up there or something.
DeathWish808  [author] 23 Aug, 2018 @ 8:08am
Yes, for the cube.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Really appreciate it!
MrMister 23 Aug, 2018 @ 8:06am
I assume this missing pedestal button would be to reset the cube?
I was surprised that in the Moon room you don't need to get back to the entrance with the cube (leave the cube over the glass covering the funnel, prepare the exit portal, then grab the cube and enter the funnel, create the entry portal while in the funnel, and as the cube hits the button, grab it mid-air and get through the portal and to the platform with it), then place it on a button in the entrance. Is it because it's too easy for the cube to land near enough to a portable floor that the player can jump from up there down to a portal, come up through a portal near the cube and grab it, then fall back into the portal and reach the launchpad ledge again, so that someone who can't figure out the proper maneuver would think it's bad design to leave it to luck? You could get around that by placing a small emancipator just where the cube lands after pressing the button, as the randomness lies in how it bounces.
Solid ten.

OK, I gotcha. There was supposed to be a pedestal button for it, but apparently it was accidentally removed. Just enable "sv_cheats 1"and then "noclip" in the console and noclip back up. Sorry about that.
MrMister 23 Aug, 2018 @ 6:09am
No, I mean the room with the meshed cage, and the button up a ledge that both disables most of the emancipators enveloping the cage and makes a portable square lean towards the cage. I went to the room with the funnel first and it activated the moon symbol, so I assumed this room with a dot symbol (a 1 face on a die) is meant to be the Sun room.

Since getting to the button needed (as far as I could manage) that surface (the one next to the use-key button) to be horizontal, I can't see how to get back up to the button after I left the cube pressing it and dismissed the portal to the portable wall that's up there to serve as a shortcut.
DeathWish808  [author] 23 Aug, 2018 @ 5:30am
I assume you're talking about the room with the funnel? If you put the cube on the button up there then you're done and do not need to get back up. If you wanted to for whaterver reason you can just repeat what you did in the beginning and respawn the cube, but again, you're done so why would you want to?
MrMister 23 Aug, 2018 @ 12:31am
Uhm, on the second (I think) room, the Sun one with the cage, how do you get back up (or reset the cube) after you leave the cube up there pressing the button and you jump down and don't have a portal to the portal wall up there?
jandlml 23 Aug, 2017 @ 9:28pm
excellent harder version. took me forever to get the cubr in the angeled panel room. it just didnt want to fly through the portal. finally got it.

Very good map!
suanpan 8 Jun, 2016 @ 8:56pm
Very good map!All rooms are interesting, and I love the room with gel very much!
The second room I think is the most difficult because it needs some operations and numerous attempts.
It‘s my way to get it in second room . https://youtu.be/Nmqp1PtKtAM
I think the last room can design better, although already very nice.
Thanks for your work!Enjoyed.
DeathWish808  [author] 5 Jun, 2016 @ 12:00pm
Thanks, man. One of the few that I spent a lot of time on. Will definitely check yours out.
dire.fcs 5 Jun, 2016 @ 11:59am
Great work all around, all rooms are great, nice work with the gel, and funnels and flings, well done.

Thanks so much! A lot of time was put into this one. Mainly to keep it as clean as possible and tying everything together and removing unintended solutions. Was a lot more involved in this one then you might think. Glad you enjoyed this one as well!
Yuuubi 1 Jun, 2015 @ 8:28am
Wow this map was incredible. Took me about 35-40 minutes ! Each room was a cleverly designed puzzle, each one in its own style, giving the whole test a unique spirit :) Thumbs up and added to favorites. Well done.
DeathWish808  [author] 16 Jul, 2014 @ 6:35am
Thanks! Glad you did it. Sorry it was frustrating for you.
big red foot 14 Jul, 2014 @ 12:00pm
Oh my gosh 2 whole afternoons and I finally did it! how do you come up with this stuff. Very frustrating but I loved it.
DeathWish808  [author] 6 May, 2014 @ 6:20am
LOL, fuck it! o_O
DeathWish808  [author] 1 May, 2014 @ 11:13am
Updated again. :-/
Prototype 1 May, 2014 @ 5:16am
How about this one , at least the cube's back ;-D
DeathWish808  [author] 1 May, 2014 @ 4:47am
Fixed...
DeathWish808  [author] 1 May, 2014 @ 4:22am
Shit...
Prototype 1 May, 2014 @ 12:25am
Hmm, well I'd agree with less cluttered... , isn't that cube dropper meant to drop a cube?

Really like the motion blured screenshot :-)
DeathWish808  [author] 30 Apr, 2014 @ 3:40pm
Redid the side room again to make it less cluttered than my previous solution to stop the angled wall glides.
Prototype 28 Apr, 2014 @ 3:25pm
And again for the side room , can't see any other ways to break the last one though.
DeathWish808  [author] 28 Apr, 2014 @ 5:24am
OK, you got me. I think I definitely have them fixed now. Thanks again!
Prototype 28 Apr, 2014 @ 3:17am
You'll like these ;-) New fling in the side room and another way to skip that angled panel in the last room.
DeathWish808  [author] 27 Apr, 2014 @ 7:49am
I went ahead and fixed the way you got to the last room. Fixed the cube fling room so you can't get up top like the last two times. Fixed last area so that you have to use that damn angled panel. lol
DeathWish808  [author] 27 Apr, 2014 @ 6:38am
Thanks again! The parts you broke were done harder than the intended way.. like in the last area and I know you know what the intended way was. lol. Only thing I need to fix is the fling room. Should have moved the grate to the end of the other grate so you couldn't fling and hit the grate wall to get up again. Nicely done! Much help.
Prototype 27 Apr, 2014 @ 5:55am
Re-run pretty much intended this time.
DeathWish808  [author] 26 Apr, 2014 @ 8:50am
All 4 areas have been updated, so your 2 solutions should be void now. Thanks for the video and dem!
DeathWish808  [author] 26 Apr, 2014 @ 7:30am
Thanks guys!

Prototype 25 Apr, 2014 @ 11:56pm
My blindrun Very good, although same as Stuntmanmyke I had no clue about the effect of the last pedstal button and I believe I used the same technique to drop into the corridor. It took quite a lot of attempts for me to get the first pedstal button (for the cube) but I'm not quite sure what I was doing wrong.

Anyway, I enjoyed it and I think you might find I did some things slightly differently to what you had in mind :-P
DeathWish808  [author] 25 Apr, 2014 @ 2:11pm
Ah, ok. Easy fix. Thanks!
Stuntmanmyke 25 Apr, 2014 @ 2:08pm
No need angled panel cause i up in the top where are turrets and i fall in coridor, simply. Maybe i will make a demo more later.
DeathWish808  [author] 25 Apr, 2014 @ 1:48pm
Thanks for playing, BUT the p. button in last area is so that you trigger the cube and it not be falling the whole time you play the rest of the map. The angled panel in the first room not needed? How so? Almost every map has portalable surfaces that aren't required. That part doesn't make sense. Both Portal games are full of them. Maybe you're not explaining it properly. How about a .dem or video of your solution please?
Stuntmanmyke 25 Apr, 2014 @ 1:42pm
Ok...I restart and i beat this level but i don't rate, few things are useless, like the pedestal button at very end , one angled panel in first room and other portalable surface don't used. And still don't understand why we can call the last cube only one time, otherwise, that was fun !
Stuntmanmyke 25 Apr, 2014 @ 1:23pm
GRRR...Why in the last room we can press the pedestal button cube just one time ??? I must retry because one glitch kill my cube !
Solid Jim  [author] 11 Apr, 2014 @ 1:18pm
In defence of that slo-mo bit: the pedestal button was originally only 3 seconds, but I added another second in case people needed time to line themselves up before going through the first portal (as it's so easy to go off at an angle and miss the floor panel.) The unfortunate consequence is that you actually need to wait for a moment before going in so the angled panel will complete its cycle in time. Slightly awkward but I considered it preferable to screwing over the players that couldn't manage it in 3 seconds.

The ceiling fizzler, however, is entirely cheap and I won't try to justify it!
DeathWish808  [author] 10 Apr, 2014 @ 5:23pm
OK, you got me... :-(
LPChip 10 Apr, 2014 @ 5:20pm
Actually, yes it is your fault. It's always your fault. Didn't your parents taught you that? Lol
DeathWish808  [author] 10 Apr, 2014 @ 3:38pm
Hey, it's not my fault that you suck at Portal. This is the ADVANCED version. :-P

Thanks again for the video!
LPChip 10 Apr, 2014 @ 2:46pm
I actually like the original more. In this one, you have enforced the use of ninja actions a little bit too much. I was therefor not able to complete one part without using slow motion. (You know what part I mean) another part also required ninja portalling but I managed to get that sorted eventually. Took me unnecessary time though, and I just don't like it when you are forced to use this kind of ninja actions. So no rating on this map for that reason. My blindrun is here, including original version of the map: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2k2tkJxtoQ
