PSA: There seems to be a conflict between this and Medieval Overhaul. If you set a filter to allow the "Manufactured" category entirely, then your colonists will haul drugs, components, even neutroamine to campfires and cooking stoves in order to burn them as fuel. This can also happen if the ONLY VISIBLE THING in the "Manufactured" category is MO's Tar, because that acts as though you've allowed the entire category. Not sure why that happens, not sure if there's a third mod causing this conflict, but I've disallowed that category and now my colonists are now longer trying to burn components to cook potatoes, so that's a decent stopgap.

0n second thought, it probably doesn't work, forgot that the campfire can be used to cook. Just ignore me.

@-=GoW=-Dennis I haven't actually checked if it worked, but "Best Mix (Continued)" allows setting like "least value" for a campfire, which should prioritize cheap wood. Also haven't checked if it appear for things like fuel generators.

@-=GoW=-Dennis: Burn it for Fuel (continued) is updated for 1.5, sometimes that one won't show all of the possible burnable resources you have but it's still better than nothing.

Does someone know of a fork of this? It's really the only mod on the whole workshop that lets you prevent precious fuel going to waste :( Unfortunately its UI shows empty in 1.5.

Has anyone found a combination of mods or load order that allows this to peacefully coexist with Medieval Overhaul's coal? It's a prerequisite for Lag Free Torches and More, which is an essential lag and micromanagement reduction mod on Medieval Overhaul, but the loss of coal as a fuel source is rough.

Something is going wrong with this mod. I've caught my pawns refuelling torches with seeds, hides, and other things that don't even show up on the list of allowable fuels

Did this mod not have the ability to copy paste setting from multiple similar burner settings to be the same or was that something that just the hardcore SK guys did?

If anyone has Medieval Overhaul and doesn't care if raw wood functions the same as timber then you can use the Resource Dictionary mod to set raw wood and raw darkwood to replace and act the same as timber, which also makes it usable as fuel.

This is also works with other items in other mods as well.

There is a compatibility issue with this mod and Medieval Overhaul. This mod overrides all fuel sources to not be able to take coal chunks or tar as fuel anymore.

Could you also possibly add a mod setting to add and remove items as possible fuel sources? I know the fuel menu already exists, but if there isn't something on there then there is no way to use it in anything with a fuel menu.

Came here for the same as caramel - default wood only (or better yet, a mod menu to select what to set as default) would be what makes this mod comfortable beyond useful. I'm in a long Neolithic run and having to "-check new fuel users (such as every one of the million torches) -deselect all -set wood" is useful to prevent material waste but an extra chore nonetheless

Hi, I have the same problem as Kassenschlager. It's impossible to choose raw wood (or dark wood) as fuel, the options don't exist. Mod order doesn't matter. Would be grateful if you got the time to check!

I'm sure someone has asked this before, but please, make Wood the only allowed type of fuel, and all other types restricted, as default settings of the newly built items.

Hi lilwhitemouse, really great qol mod. Choosing the raw versions of wood and dark wood from medieval overhaul sadly doesn't seem to work in my medieval run, too. Putting your mod at the bottom of the list doesnt work either. Maybe you can look into it if you got the time. ty anyway

The WoodLog patch kinda breaks simple chains lumber, i've just copied the mod locally and removed the patch but it'd be nice to not need that
Whats really needed is a stuff categories for fuel, but that seems beyond the scope of this mod

Rimmsqol lets you change various settings?
Try making sure this is loaded *last* in the mod order. If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll re-think some things, see if I can figure out why

For some reason i'm not able to choose the raw versions of wood and dark wood from medieval overhaul on the fuel lists, I have been trying to change the wood in rimmsqol but haven't been able to make it appear in the lists.

Oh! Hmm....that's not impossible. Are you thinking to have only 1 fuel across ALL items? Or per item? Already, gets more complicated :laughs:

My idea would be for players to open the mod options and select which fuels are allowed by default - for instance, if you know you'll only use coal as fuel

@Renix - I just realized, maybe you need to put FuelFilter near the bottom of the mod load order?

Otherwise, I have almost no idea what's possibly going on.
Nor for you -Mikhail-? But...I'm adding in some solid defensive null-checks that might clear up whatever's happening....I do know there are some mods out there with very weirdly broken items from time to time, and maybe this is what's happening?

@Tonas, how do you imagine that working? From a player point of view? Like, they open ....what? Push a button somewhere?

I swear this used to have a mod menu that let you select what could or could not be used as fuel for anything, thus creating a simple default and not having to select every new furniture made..
